Fruitful LifeMore Like This
Sliced orange sun upon a sky-blue plate,
Strawberry flowers in the breeze.
Red grape stones and watermelon oceans,
Rolling on kumquat sands.
Big apple boulders,
Atop pineapple cliffs.
Out ahead are coconut clouds,
And a mango-orange sunset.
Twinkling starfruit in the sky,
Accompanied by a glowing grapefruit moon.
The coconut clouds hang low,
Near the tops of peaceful dragonfruit houses.
Night Found Poem-School ProjectBite your lips, little brother.More Like This
Force your fear for another day, for later.
Keep your anger recognized, and remember your hate,
But save it for another time.
Clench your teeth and wait for labor's end,
Forced work is all we have left.
Don't cry for anything here,
The lashes will pull your hope to nothing.
Do not hang your hope from a bunk,
In the reach of a wolf's paws.
Keep it in your wit,
Away from the starving, hoping hands of others.
Keep your words, little brother,
And save them for when they are needed.
Soon this confinement will end,
And all that will be left is the words you recite.
