This is a Starlite Photo Challenge entry #4 held by :iconzemotion:

I'm quite new to DA, but I saw this contest and thought I'd give it a go and set up my gear at the kitchen table. :)

The setup is a plastic plate placed a few cm above the object. The object is reflected in water/glucose droplets placed on the plastic plate. I backlit the setup with an external flash. Editing in photoshop is a crop, adjusted curves, resize and a small amount of usm.

Thank you for the views, faves, and comments.

SIDE NOTE: It only took me (roughly) 500+ shots to get the look I was going for. c:

Here's another one of my all time favorites in the same format that leaves my mind to wander.

Dancing Water ~ Lugano ~ Switzerland

I love this photo. I have photographed the water jet of a well, in this photo the water has taken a form, she seems a dancer or an ice skater

This is a drop of tap water that reflects the colors surrounding it. I just want to show to the world how a tiny drop of ordinary tap water can be so beautiful and extraordinary.

I use Nikon D70S along with nikon macro lens. I simply put the water droplet on the feather using syringe and the bokehs behind the droplet is just the shiny feather x]

I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

...there is a purpose for tears after all.

This is a single gravity drop hanging from
the tinny tiny feathers of a peacock.
Suspended between a warped DVD and a CD.

I hope you like it.

- Yes, the color of the water droplet was adjusted; I created two layers of the droplet, applied a blue filter to one and a magenta filter to the other, and then decreased the opacity of each (to 25% I think), and erased the center of these layers so that only the edge of the droplet was affected; hence, the purplish hue.

I know that these are not cherries, but that's what these little wild berries reminded me of with their "explosive" red color...hence, the title.
