It's been a while since my last post - I've been keeping very very busy here in Cambridge (if you are around gimme a shout!) I managed to squeeze this one out while trying the new PS CS6 Let me know what you all think. C&C welcome!
Vehicle from a project i worked on beginning of last year, just got clearance to show this design. Probably the first vehicle i tried to visualize in 3D to show a Director what i had in mind......then i never looked back, powerful stuff! Lot of things i would do differently now on this from a design/rendering standpoint, but was a fun project to be involved with and look forward to see where it goes. Hopefully much more to show later this year, stay tuned.
A few people were asking to see the ZBrush base i built before painting over so here it is, really simple stuff, enough to show the forms/basic details to the director/producer to get them to lock off on it before taking it further.
This wallpaper was kind of inspired by Oblivion (at least the destroyed moon was). I really wonder how our world would be like with a destroyed moon. It took me quite a while to get the earth right. Several different resolution are available on my homepage gtgraphics.de: gtgraphics.de/image/occasus/
I never realized that there wasn't any wallpaperpack of this
Prints updated aswell
I present to you: Untouched
Personal comment Well, after reinstalling windows for the 5th time, and then realising, that my harddisk practically died, I just had to do some art related stuff.
I'm pretty unhappy about this piece, mainly because there are some areas that didn't came out the way I wanted them to be.
mhh, actually, I concentrated my efforts more on the landscape itself, than on the other elements.
What it is: Based on my newest terragenrender I rendered for 14 hours. textures from cgtextures, pixelio and sxc. same goes for the few references I used for the birds. Original size: 7000x3944px @ 300dpi
Hardware: wacom intuos3 a5
software: adobe photoshop terragen and world machine
The hyper basic idea about this piece: Two scouting jets flying through an untouched scenery..
Thanks to `taenaron and ~Pr3t3nd3r for suggestions. And yeah, taenaron pushed me to submit it
To be honest this is not something i usually do! But i want this to be special cause DeimosComics is a dear friend and his concept and idea where great! so in order to make it, good looking i went not the normal way (poser render - overpaint etc..) but a little bit further... there are a lot of top illustrators out there working in similar ways but they dont admit it...
well i do cause all it matters is the result and the means to achieve it...
My first attempts at sculpting in sculptris. My ability and knowledge of how to turn these into in game assets is pretty limited but if I had a 3d printer i'm sure I'd have a good time Anyway having fun with the program so far!
This is a WIP of our very first figurine for project Mekanizer, a collaboration with
We are hoping this will be the first of many girls we produce and the start of an awesome desktop collectible figurine adventure. This is something I have wanted to do since I was a kid, so finding another dude like Paul to team up with for this journey is like the ultimate dream.
Once she is posed up and finished, we intend to print her and have her produced as either a 9" or 12" desktop collectible figurine. If you guys would like a copy of her, I hope you will stay tuned and support project Mekanizer!
My new digital illustration - only for training. Created in photoshop, something about two days. Without 3D reference. It's a concept of old and worn-out transport ship with very simply shapes and old technologies...
I created very very simple "animation" from particulars snapshots of my work. If you want, you can see it on youtube - [link]
Solar Cargo - Piece of Sun anywhere in the Universe!
One of my older book-cover illustration. I hesitated whether to publish it, because I dislike the hero figure (bad pose and anathomy...), but I like the ship... It's not very successful illustration for Sergei Lukjanenko book (but text of this book was pretty naive for me and publisher had many comments and changes in ilustration.) Sometimes work fails...
3 months since my last submission, sorry for being so quiet lately. I've been working on my art book since November so my attention was focused there. Now I need to resume freelance work as my book funding is running out, gotta pay those bills. So, you'll finally see me resume regular art submission to DA, lots of commission work on the way.
This is a commission for Alpha-Dilophosaurus Aliens are sieging earth and here Russian forces hold out in their own land. Troops equipped with heavy body armor and powerful rifles cover a 4 legged tank that has been immobilized. In the distance along the front lines the troops are meeting similar resistance as their enemies prove difficult to bring down.
While the other animal models are employed primarily for reconnaisance and defensive roles in the field, the Lion serves a purely offensive role. Employed in packs, 1 ranger usually operates with 3 – 4 units. Rangers often combine their teams together to form prides. Like their real life counterparts the units hunt in large groups and communicate with each other through a closed wireless network giving each other real time data on positions, terrain, and proximity to their target. The operator can connect at will to each individual unit. Lioness units can be equipped with back mounted cameras to allow manual control. Typically the Lion will serves as the main hub with the Lioness's routing through.
To better serve their role as the offense Lion models are lightly armored with few solid pieces of armor. Most of the body is exposed artificial muscle covered in ballistic fabrics. As such replacement of parts is much easier to complete in the field. Teeth and claws are made of tungsten carbide which keeps an incredibly sharp edge. The teeh and claws are retractable allowing for non lethal take downs when required. Another feature are the sliding eye covers located above the ears. They provide extra eye protection as well as multi spectral views for different situations and wide angle input.
Male models are bulkier around the head with more armor and much stronger jaw muscles for a more powerful bite. They also have a large gorget type armor piece around their neck which protects the Lion during charges. Transmitters and other communication equipment are stored in the back of the head along the upper neck.
Lioness models are lighter and stealthier than the male models. With less bulk and weight they are able move quickly and quietly. Some come equipped with camera units located on the top of their back. ---------
