Full of pain and torment, from the very moment of birth?
I need to confess a thought but have no confessor.
Those closest to me often feel to be more of a stressor than a comfort.
I wish it wasn’t true.
Does even your family clearly think little of you?
What of shelter found in love? That peaceful, sweet reprise?
What of bliss found only in your lover's gentle eyes?
I offer you this truth, although it may be hard to take,
The bliss you feel today will be met with equal parts heartbreak,
Promises and tender whispers,
Replaced with cruel and hurtful lies.
Absence and cold silence will replace the once strong ties.
I’ve lost my faith in people, it seems, I find it sad to say,
But more reasons I seem to discover, for this, each and every day.
There’s still beauty to found however in music and in art,
Even in the depths of pain such things can stir the heart.
