It started in spring. I had already had contact with the Elite, after I was voted to be a Gym Leader, but it was only after the yearly conference that Grimsley approached me in private.
He told me that he was interested in getting to know me, a bit of friendly chat, and invited me out. It was a fairly exclusive little bar, where all guests were at least as famous as I was, if not more. We sat in the corner, I remember, and Grimsley had recommended a very expensive wine. I already knew then that he was the kind of person to enjoy a glass now and then, and I had to confess that his taste was refined. I don’t know what it was that night, but something, something clicked. It would be the beginning of a very strange and complicated relationship.
