It was some time in the middle of the night – one of those nights after a particularly straining mission – and Phil Coulson was lying awake in his bunk. He felt sore, utterly defeated and so, so tired, but the young woman they couldn’t save that day kept screaming in the back of his mind. She had trusted the wrong people and paid the price. They had burnt her alive, just out of the team’s reach, separated from them through a pulsing field of energy – absolutely no way to get through to her. If only Phil had found her earlier, if only he hadn’t taken so long to locate her capturers’ whereabouts, he could have…
He had to stop himself at that. He was driving himself crazy. Restless as he was, he got up, left his quarters and headed for … well, what exactly was he headed for, actually? He didn’t care at all, he figured. Trying not to run into furniture or knock anyt
A Modern Family Pregnancy, Part 2Claire groaned, feeling more movement inside her as the doctor ran the ultrasound wand over her bulging belly. "From what I can tell right now, it looks like you're expecting twins," the doctor smiled, turning to Claire. "Congratulations."
Claire looked between the doctor, Gloria, and the ultrasound's display in shock. "Twins? I can barely raise my three kids now! You're telling me I'll need to raise two babies now too?"

"I'll get a print-out," Gloria said, waving her hand away and sitting back down, hand on her belly, as big as Claire's and forcing her clothing to the limits.
"Triplets," Claire re
A Modern Family Pregnancy, Part 3Claire awoke groggily from her slumber, feeling her babies kick, slightly stronger than they were yesterday. She rose from her bed, or at least attempted to. Her increased girth had continued to hinder her movement, and it took multiple heaves to get herself up. She waddled to the bathroom, as one of the babies had unleashed a particularly strong kick on her bladder.

After relieving herself, Claire looked at her pregnant form in the mirror. Once again, her belly had grown, looking eight months pregnant with twins, if not full term. Her breasts had also slightly grown, but with three previous pregnancies, there wasn't much more room for them to grow. "If I'm like this now...how much time do I have left?" she asked herself, rubbing her belly.
Claire put on some maternity clothes, and noticed that her belly peeked out from the gaps between her shirt and jeans. "Guess I'll need some bigger clothes," she noted. As her round stomach let out a rumble and a flurry of kicks surfaced, Claire hea
