Her Face - (Doctor/River)Just the sight of her was enough to make his hearts pound with joy. Her face.More Like This
Just the sight of her was enough to make his hearts pound with joy.
A flash of tangled curls on a crowded alien street could make him speed up, only to discover it wasn't her at all.
The sight of her face, that strong face. More beautiful to him than any other.
He'd known women more beautiful than River. Strictly speaking, Amy was prettier. Yet it was River that made his hearts pound, made his blood race, made him smile with mad joy, only to wipe it away when she turned, and pretend to be irritated instead.
Oh, how he loved her face. The shape of it, the warmth of it, her soft skin, and the crinkles around her eyes.
He loved her eyebrow that cocked at him in mockery. He loved her nose with that slight bump that made it too strong for beauty, but absolutely perfect for her. He loved her lips, with their lies and their spoilers and their hallucinogenic lipstick. She had killed him with those lips, yet th

Jack shot at one of the bulky figures over the wooden barricade he was hiding behind. Blaster fire and grenades exploded all around him, peppering him with debris.
He ducked back behind his barricade and changed out the charge pack in his gun. A lanky man ran up, slipped in the shale, and joined him behind the barricade. The floppy haired individual stared up at him in shock.
"Jack! What are you doing here?" he said in a high pitched, surprised voice.
"Shooting people," Jack said, and took a couple of potshots over the barrier. "Who the hell are you?"
"Jack," the man said with a trace of hurt. "It's me."
"Gonna have to be more specific than that," Jack said, sighting down his gun. "I know a lot of me's."
"Oh, right, the face."
Jack's head whipped around at that. He scanned the man in front of him, young, pretty mouth, thick hair, wearing, good god, a bow tie and tweed. "Doctor?"
The man grinned.

His chest unit lit up and pinged. He dashed behind a pillar.
There was a mirror opposite him in the deserted warehouse, it flared red. His chest unit lit up and pinged.
He growled and dove behind a trio of barrels.
He heard light running footsteps, a carefree laugh. And his chest unit blinked and pinged three times in a row.
He jumped up and ran, that had always worked for him before. The gun hung loose in his hand, he couldn’t see anything to shoot.
His chest unit lit red and pinged. Ping. Ping. Ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping pingpingping!
It stayed red, and started smoking. It got hot, and he yelped and fumbled the buckles loose and threw it away.
With a gleeful laugh something slammed into his side and knocked him to the ground.
“I Win!” River crowed over him. All soft and hot and excited. Her eyes blazed, her hair practically exploded with glee, and she was grinning like a loo
New York to LeadworthHow did Melody Pond get from 1960's New York to 1990's Leadworth as a child?More Like This
"Rory, Amy, I know where to find your daughter, and on my life she will be safe."
He could hear Amy and Rory protesting as he took down the forcefield and entered the Tardis. He stepped outside again, and looked back, at River, standing there, by his cradle.
His hearts swelled so much he couldn't contain his giddiness. He pointed at her, he couldn't believe it. He wanted to dance. He slammed the door.
He did dance, all the way up to the console. River, his River, was a Pond! A beautiful, glorious Pond!
And now with the information he'd gotten from the Church's databanks, and the DNA information he'd gotten from Dorium, he could track her.
The girl, the little girl, he knew he'd run across her again. His River. He did a little hop-skip step as he entered the coordinates for 1960's Earth, Florida.
That's where they'd taken her, must have been, the orphanage, but she'd got away. But now he could tra
Eye of the BeholderRiver is gorgeous, but what does she see in the Doctor?More Like This
[Author’s Note: This is rated PG-13, because this is River’s appraisal of the Doctor, and, well, she’s River.]
The Doctor chased Amy through the surf, both of them laughing and screaming. Rory lay on a blanket sunbathing, ignoring the noise.
Above them, River lay on the bluff, her hair camouflaged by the golden brush all around her. They weren’t aware she’d arrived.
She grinned and propped her face on her hands, staring down at her husband. She was aware of the comments the two of them got when they were seen together in public. Some women were jealous that she’d snagged such a “younger” man, others wondered why she’d settled for him.
But she hadn’t settled. She demanded the best, and she got it.
She admitted he did look all gangly and knees and elbows in that tweed and and high water trousers he preferred, but he really wasn’t. She grinned and

She was wrong! It was all her fault.
He slapped the wet ground beside him causing one of the otters to jump, turn in a startled circle, and stare at him.
"Sorry." He pinched his mouth tight and glared down at his bare toes. Why did she have to be so impossible? It wasn't his fault...
One of his discarded boots beside him suddenly moved. He startled, then stared down. One of the otters had stuck his whole head down into the boot, and was now wiggling and scooting it as he tried to burrow deeper.
The Doctor bit down on an involuntary grin. "Hey! That's my shoe!" He reached out to grab the sturdy long body and pull it out of his footwear. It was one of the adolescents. It scrabbled backward and kicked at him with its clawed, webbed feet.
"Ouch! Hey! There's nothing for you in there!" He dropped the skinny little animal and sucked on his bleeding thumb. It backed out of his shoe and looked up at

The Doctor walked up to Amy and Rory's house and rang the doorbell.
Something burst out of the trees in the park, rushed him, and pushed him up against the house. River, dressed like Cleopatra, leaned forward and gave him a long, slow kiss that practically levitated him off his feet.
She pulled back, grinned, bit him lightly on the nose, and ran off.
He stared after her, dumbfounded. "What was that?" he yelled after her, into the park.
She leaned out from behind a tree, "Trick and Treat!" She blew him a cheeky air kiss and disappeared.

The Doctor charged into the Tardis, slammed the door and planted his back against it. His hair was wild, his eyes wide, and he was breathing like a bellows.
"Ah, there you are, Sweetie. I thought I got the coordinates right."
He glared as River emerged from behind the Tardis time rotor. "You're a demon!"
She sauntered down the steps and tipped her head at him. "I was trained and conditioned to kill you, Sweetie. It's not my fault you came back too early and almost met Amy out of sequence, and met me instead.
"Mind you," she padded up and slipped a finger up the placket of his shirt. "I was very annoyed that you got away."
"I almost didn't!"
"Ah, well," she smiled at him and leaned against him, "I am very good at what I do."
His hearts pounded in his chest with leftover adrenaline. She hummed and snuggled against his front, that one naughty hand sneaking up behind his neck and

River was drawing weird circular Gallifreyan writing in the water condensation from her glass, smearing the water around on the table mindlessly, accenting it with flicks and swirls.
Amy watched her for a minute, a bit surprised. It wasn’t often she came upon her daughter brooding.
“Anything wrong, River?” she asked, sliding into another stool on the opposite side of the breakfast bar.
River looked up, startled. That in itself was disturbing. How deep in thought was she that she would be unaware of her surroundings?
“Hello, Amy. No, just thinking,” with a distracted smile, River went back to her doodling.
Amy stared, nonplussed.
“What about?” she asked, unable not to pry.

River woke to the feel of a long form slipping into the prison bed behind her.
If it was one of the guards trying something she was going to be up in front of the review board again, for murder. It had been a long time since anyone had tried this. She didn’t tense up, she was too well trained an assassin for that.
She felt long arms slip around her waist, and suddenly recognized the fresh, piney clean, male scent of him.
“Living dangerously, aren’t you Sweetie?” she asked, without moving.
“Go back to sleep, River. It’s okay, I just needed to hold you for a bit.” His voice was older and more serious than she’d heard it in a while. She easily placed him as later in his timestream, and happily repositioned her head on his arm as she felt his body slip up behind her, supporting her, his long legs n

The kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small.
But instead of having cake, with all my friends to celebrate.
My wedding bells, they may not ring for me at all.
The Master: I could care less about the ring, I won't partake in any cake.
Vows, I'll be lying when I say.
That through any kind of weather I'll want us to be together.
The truth is I don't care for her at all.
No I do not love the bride, both my hearts are dead inside.
But I still want her to be all mine!
Doctor Whooves: We must escape before it's too late. Find a way to save the day.
Hope, I'll be lying if I say.
I don't fear that I may lose her, to one who wants to use her.
Not care for, love, and cherish her each day.
For I also love the bride, in my hearts sh
