Summary: River is turned into a child. She's six years old, cute as a button, and pissed off.
River stomped into the Tardis wearing a prison unitard, and seething. Her hair boiled around her head like an angry thunderstorm. Her vortex manipulator hung, clunky, on one slender wrist.
“You’d better be able to reverse this, Sweetie.” She frowned at the high, piping sound of her voice.
The others followed her in. The Doctor ran immediately for the console, his face wearing a sternly repressed, determined expression, fiercely biting down on the corners of his mouth that kept trying to tilt up. If he smiled, he knew he’d live to regret it.
Amy and Rory walked in, staring at River, both of them with gooey, besotted looks on their faces.
Rory shut the door. The Doctor threw the Tardis into flight.
“You’re just so cute!” Amy gushed, leaning over, reaching out to stroke the silky curls on River’s childlike, six-year-old head.
HabitsThe Doctor and River have a habit...More Like This
These two ultimate badasses had a habit. It wasn’t something they did all the time, but every once in a great while they’d lock the Tardis doors, close out the universe, and indulge themselves.
The Doctor would make a big batch of homemade caramel popcorn with toasted cashews. River would make a pot of real hot chocolate.
They’d spoon up on the broken down sofa in the library, snack out, and watch an old Disney Movie of the Week.
The combination had a soporific effect on Time Lord metabolism.
And every time, as the movie wall faded to black, River would turn over and snuggle sleepily, nuzzling her nose into his neck. He’d cushion his face on her hair and wrap his arms around her, their legs tangling together.
“Sweet Dreams, Sweetie,” she’d murmur, already half asleep.
He’d grin, eyes heavy, hearts full, and hug her close. “Sweet Reality.”

The Doctor bounced along on the bouncy ball. It was three feet round, made of superelastic, and had a totally adorable painted pony head sticking out the front.
The Doctor was seated on it, holding onto the big rubber ring and shoving off with his feet, bouncing a circle around her, and laughing like a maniac.
“You are such an infant!” River said with disgust.
“Come on, River, try it, it’s fun!” he bounced in place, his fringe bobbing, the big red rubber ball under him making “gloomping” noises.
She crossed her arms. “Not in this lifetime, Sweetie. Give me a pogo stick any day.”
He jumped up, accidentally kicking the ball across the children’s funland playpark.
He rushed over to a kiosk, and made wild handwavy motions at the cephalopod attendant. The squidlike person held a bunch of balloons in one tentacle, passed out firecracker ca

River took aim, wavered, her eyes rolled up and she passed out, falling over backward.
"River!" Rory just managed to catch her. He held her up, his hand went to her neck. "She's burning up!"
The aliens didn't stop firing at them, but with River no longer giving them covering fire, the bad guys were getting bold, advancing out from behind the barrels and bales that littered the smuggler's ship cluttered hallways.
They all ducked back behind the gold statue of "Freedom" which they had traced to this ship from the planet Kantaro, where it had been stolen. The smugglers were unwilling to risk melting the precious metal, which was the only thing keeping them safe at the moment.
"River?" Amy patted her cheeks with concern, giving her a harder smack when she didn't respond. Rory frowned at her, she frowned back. River wouldn't want to be unconscious if there was any alternative.
"Quick!" the Doctor said
ImperfectionsRiver is dissatisfied with her appearance, the Doctor disagrees.More Like This
River was scowling into the mirror.
The Doctor walked up beside her and stared from her into the mirror. He couldn't see what she was scowling at.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"I hate my nose," she said, glowering.
His eyebrows popped up. He looked from her, to the mirror and back to her, to her nose, her perfect, strong, River nose.
"No, you don't hate your nose, it's a perfectly good nose."
She glared at him. "I've got Rory's nose," she said flatly.
He tried to prevent the grin that pulled at his mouth. He bit his lip. "You don't, really," he said. "Rory's got a long, thin, snooty nose." He tilted his head up in an approximation of Rory's snooty nose.
River swallowed a chuckle.
The Doctor grinned at her. "What you don't like, is this little bump right here." He leaned forward and gently kissed t
The Fortune CookieRiver gets a fortune cookie, but won't let the Doctor see.More Like This
The Doctor, Amy, and River were having Chinese food at a little hole in the wall restaurant in San Francisco.
The food was good, if weird looking. The waiters all spoke English (or, at least Amy thought they did, you could never tell with the Tardis translation circuits.) And the ambiance was full of colorful paper lanterns, and tiny cricket cages, and calligraphy on the walls, and lots of yelling from the kitchens.
It was great.
At the end of the meal their waiter brought them a salver with their bill, and three fortune cookies. Amy grinned and passed them out. She always loved the fortune cookies.
She broke hers open, pulled out the slip of paper, then barked a laugh as she read it.
"Be on the lookout for travel opportunities."
The Doctor grinned at her and picked at the crumbled remains of his crushed fortune cookie, eating each tiny little fragment off the tablecloth.
"What did yours say?" Amy asked.

The savage crouched and pulled a knife, her brown eyes sharp and wary. “Why do you follow us?” she demanded.
They were standing in the dripping back streets of old London.
Her opponent held her high tech gun loosely, down by her side. Ready to raise it at any moment but unwilling to point a gun at one of his friends.
“I don’t mean any harm,” she said.
The savage didn’t taker her eyes off her. “You follow us, you watch, you view him as a tiger views a morsel. What do you want with him?”
River grinned. “Many things.”
Leela stood up straighter at that lascivious tone, recognizing it, woman to woman.
She cocked her head, surveying the golden haired warrior before her. Eyes thorough and astute.
“You hunt him,” she said, putting an entirely different slant on the words.
Leela suddenly grinned. She reached out a hand and River clasped it

The Doctor suddenly found his arms full of baby. He stared in surprise at the infant, the little girl, 18 months old at a guess, stared back.
“Come back here you bugger!” a voice yelled, and determined footsteps ran off.
He and Clara had been walking down a busy London street minding their own business. Suddenly his arms were full of adorable little baby, big brown eyes, and burgundy curls.
Hearts beating a mile a minute the Doctor turned, carefully holding the child to see her mother bearing down on a purse snatcher. The lanky youth, dressed in an anorak and ski cap, looked over his shoulder, terrified.
The woman tackled him, sending them both to the pavement. She ripped her purse out of his arms. The strap broke. “Oh, now see what you made me do!” She yelled in a strident voice. She towered over him. The youth cowered on the sidewalk, one knee bent to protect himself from a kick
