The Organization Before- Eleaus:Lexeaus
Eleaus was a pretty strong kid. Not just physically, but emotionally. I would think it took a lot of strength to go through what he had at such a young age. His parents had both been killed in a car crash when he was only four, so he moved in with his Grandma Ellie. She was like any other Grandma, strict, but loving. But at the same time, she was unlike any other Grandma. She took care of Eleaus like she took care of her son.
Grandma! Im home! yelled an eight-year-old Eleaus from the front hall. He stepped into his grandmas room and found her sitting in her favorite rocking chair. She had a photo album in her lap and her chubby fingers stroked the pages. Eleaus crept under her arm and looked at the pages. There were photographs of a man and a woman hugging eachother over a bridge. The man was about 66 and he was mostly bald save for the sides, which were dark brown and graying. The woman was no taller than 52, and she had electric blue eyes, and reddish-brown hair. Another picture showed the same couple sitting on the hood of a green car. Something about it made Eleaus squirm. The next page had a picture of the woman with a newborn that had reddish-brown hair barely visible on his head. On the same page, there was a neat letter that read:
Its a boy! We named him Eleaus. Hes got my hair and Darrens features (and weight, but dont tell him I told you that). Hes 14 lbs 3 oz, and about 20 in. We took him home two days ago, and hes already crawling! That must be some kind of record. Darren said hes just like him; hes so sweet! He likes to pet Felix, and hes very gentle. He doesnt cry
much. I wish you were here though! You could see him yourself! Thanks a ton for all the diapers. Theyre probably one of the most useful gifts we got.
Love and Kisses,
Tabby, Darren, Eleaus, and Felix
Eleaus wiped tears from his eyes and asked, Were those my parents? What happened to them?
She nodded and said, They died in a car crash. You barely made it through. You were left with me after they died.
W-What were they like?
Your dad had an amazing sense of humor. He was really tall and really strong. He liked to collect rocks, and he was very caring. Your mother was quiet, but she was kind, especially to children. She always wanted a son, and she got one. But sadly she didnt live to see you grow. But for the four years she had you, she loved you. She closed the album and handed it to Eleaus. I want you to keep it. Its full of pictures of your parents.
Eleaus took the pictures from his grandma and smiled. Ill take good care of the Grandma, he said, taking the pictures to his room.
Fourteen year-old Eleaus pulled his house key out of his pocket to open the door, but the door opened before he put the key in the lock. A tall man with a dark mustache opened the door and looked at him. You must be Eleaus. Im Dr. Kitzoku. Your Grandmothers ok, but for how long
I dont know. She needs to see you.
I pushed past Dr. Kitzoku and ran to Grandmas room. I slowly opened the door to see my grandma lying in her bed. She was deathly pale, and her body was shaking. I sat on the chair by her bed and held her hand. She gave it a small kiss and handed me a box from her bedside table. She whispered, These were your mother and fathers. I added some things to it, but the rest belonged to them. The will is in here as well, and I want you to stay in the house. Dont leave no matter what, you understand?
Eleaus nodded and started to cry. Gramma. Dont go. Not yet. I need you Gramma!
She laughed and ran her fingers through his hair. You may look like youre mother, but you act just like your father.
She lay back on her pillows and peacefully breathed her last breath. Eleaus felt her hand drop from his. He closed his eyes and cried into the bed covers.
Eleaus stepped out into the cool fall weather. A year had passed since his Grandmas death. He stayed in his Grandmas house by himself. She had left Eleaus all her money, and Eleaus was able to pay bills, buy food, and not have to work til he was twenty. He still had five years to go before he had to get a job. Eleaus walked to a park near his house. There usually werent many people there. To his surprise, he saw three boys. Two were unconscious and one attacking strange black creatures with glowing yellow eyes. Eleaus picked up a piece of pipe that lay in the grass and hit the creature over the head. It disappeared, leaving a good amount of hp. He grabbed the green orbs and put them in his pocket. He proceeded to attack the creatures, accidentally hitting the conscious boy in the back of the leg. He slipped and fell on his back.
Little Buggers! Where the hell did you go? He yelled, looking up at Eleaus. Well shit, I thought you were one of those little dudes. Why the hell did you hit me in the back of the leg?
Sorry, it was an accident, I mumbled.
Well, what are you waiting for? Help me up! he yelled, extending an arm. Eleaus pulled him to his feet. Im Braig by the way, he said. Whats your name?
Right, mad cool. Can you help me? My friends managed to get themselves knocked out. You look like a pretty strong dude. Can you get Dil? He pointed to the larger boy with black dredlocks. And Ill get Even. How far do you live from here?
Its about a three minute walk.
Sweet! What are we waiting for? Braig exclaimed, pulling Even up and putting his arms over his shoulders. Eleaus put his arms around Dils stomach, dragging his heels along the sidewalk.
So youve lived by yourself for a year already? Braig asked, taking a bite out of his cheeseburger.
Eleaus nodded. I feel shitty
Dilan mumbled. I always yell at people when they dont leave me alone. You only get to talk to people when youre at school.
I dont talk very much there anyway, Eleaus muttered.
So, you dont talk for days at a time? Doesnt it get
awkward? Even asked.
No. Im used to not talking. And I babysit for neighbors whenever I can, so its not that quiet
Still, Even said, shoveling salad into his mouth. It must be scary. All alone, not knowing who
or whats out there.
I didnt notice before, but thanks for pointing it out.
Dilan crumpled up his bag and threw it in the trash. Well, I have to get going. My bikes at the park, and its getting late. I dont want to go home in the dark with those fucking glowy-eyed creatures everywhere. See ya Eleaus.
Yeah. I have tons of homework to finish, Even said.
Thats what you get for being in the AP classes dude! Braig laughed, chunking his remaining burger in the trash. Bye big dude. Dont let the big eyed buggers bite.
The three exited the diner, leaving Eleaus staring at his half eaten sandwich. Were those creatures really out to get him?
That night, Eleaus couldnt get a wink of sleep. He sat cross-legged on his bed; flipping through the album his Grandma had given him six years ago. He looked at a page with a picture his parents holding a cat. That must be Felix
he thought. When he turned the page, he saw a large picture of his mom and dad. His mom wore a floor length white dress with white lilies adorning her hair. It must have been their wedding. He wiped his eyes on the sleeve of his sweater and, in hysteria, threw the album across the room. When it hit the wall, a small paper came from the book. He crawled from his bed, and picked up the paper. He had to squint to make out the chicken scratch under the blood stains.
We hit a deer on our way to your place. Tabbys dead, and I doubt Ill be alive much longer. If Eleaus manages to survive, I want you to take care of him. I also want you to send Eleaus to Ansem the Wise when he turns 20. I think hed be an amazing apprentice.
When Eleaus turned twenty, he left his home for good. With the note carefully tucked in his pocket, he stepped into the crisp morning air. He decided to take the trolley to Ansems castle. One he had boarded, he curled into the seat and looked out the window. About halfway there, he saw a small bundle of blankets on the sidewalk. Men spat at him as they went by. Let me off here, Eleaus said, scrambling to the front. The trolley drove off, leaving him behind. Eleaus approached the boy. He wore a ratty red t-shirt, torn jeans, and his indigo hair that fell in front of his face was matted with blood and dirt. He was wrapped in a grey blanket that looked itchy. A sign held up by a coffee can read, Will work for food.
Hey kid. What are you doing out here by yourself? Eleaus asked.
Im trying to get money, he said matter-of-factly.
Dont you have a family?
None that I can call family, he spat.
Whats your name?
Well, Im Eleaus. I was on my way to get a job as an apprentice for Ansem the Wise. Maybe hell have a job for you.
Ienzo held a piece of hair between his teeth. I guess.
Then lets go! Eleaus said, holding out his hand to help Ienzo up. He slipped his grimy hand into Eleauss and walked twords the shining horizon and new destiny.
Eleaus? Eleaus! Big Guy!
Eleaus lifted his head and looked up to see Braig. Yes?
Whered you put the Easy Mac? he asked.
First shelf on the right, Eleaus muttered sleepily.
Right, thanks big dude! he exclaimed, racing out of the room. He was about to drift back to sleep when he felt a soft tug on his labcoat. Behind him stood Ienzo, holding none other than his photo album. Eleaus, whats this? he asked. I pulled the album into my lap and ruffled Ienzos hair. Tomorrow. Its already 10:00. You should be asleep!
Ienzo pouted. Alright
he mumbled, trudging out of the room. Eleaus gently touched the pages. It had been so long
The only apprentices left were Eleaus and Ienzo. Eleaus placed a hand on Ienzos shoulder. Look Ienzo. No matter what happens, you have to follow me. I want you there with me in this new world. Just a flip of the switch will do. Be strong Ienzo.
Eleaus felt Ienzos tears soak through his labcoat. D-dont leave me! he cried.
I wont. Just follow me.
Eleaus stepped onto the platform, and with a shaky arm, he flipped the switch on the machine himself. Ienzo put his hands over his eyes. He didnt want his best friend to go
Ienzo peeked through his fingers. Eleaus had disappeared.
Eleaus reappeared in a strange place. He wore a long black coat, with trinkets hanging down. He ran his fingers through his hair to find it curlier and spikier than usual. He realized four men, although one could have been mistaken for a very ugly woman. Welcome, Lexeaus, the tall silver-haired man said.
Yeah, yeah, cut to the chase! moaned a voice that was unmistakably Braigs.
Very well, he said, taking turns gesturing to his comrades. Xigbar, Xaldin, and Even. My name is Xemnas.
Lexeaus let out a small snort. What do you find so amusing Number V?
Xigbar fell on the ground laughing. Xemnas gave him a cold stare. Enough Number II! He turned to Lexeaus. Where is Ienzo?
Lexeaus dropped his head. Was Ienzo going to come? Or not?
