I just want to ask one thing to myself: WHY DO I LOVE UNDERRATED STUFFS?
Sincerely, I thought I will have a pretty bland summer: we didn’t have money to travel, and I’m not a pretty social person. However, one of the most memorable things in these holidays is when I discovered this animated series in the former good page You Tube (THANKS A LOT, GOOGLE >
): HORRID HENRY.
I remember while watching Milly, Mollyin that page, I used to saw once in a while some suggested videos with the title of “Horrid, Henry”, but I remember to skip them by two main reasons:
First one: for the title, and the little preview of the design, I think for a while it was a kind of cartoon alike “Ren and Stimpy” or “Later-Season Spongebob Squarepants”, with some kind of violence, gross things, and disgusting humor; but I was losing that idea after considering the fact of this coming along with a preschool cartoon like “Milly, Molly”.
However, the second main reason of not watching it was a kind of “fear”. I thought the design of this show was kind a cool (but I confess blushing in cartoon characters can become easily awful and hard to watch), but, I go some kind of bad experience with children cartoons with cool design: the characters look nice, but they were bland, annoying, and the stories were boring, uninteresting, or focused too much in some kind of fantastic theme instead of the relationships between the characters.
But then, watching a video like a month ago, I saw like a suggestions an episode of this show, but showing some of the characters, and then, I saw one of the girls on the thumbnail, and I thought it was really cute (DON’T FUCK WITH PEDOPHILE BULSHIT, please, you know exactly what I’m talking about), so, after thinking or a while, I said, “Ehm? What the hell?!” and I decided to watch it.
The episode wasn’t at level of “As Told by Ginger”, but it was funny, and, something that helped a lot: the girl I saw, a character called Lazy Linda, didn’t appeared with a big role, she didn’t even said a line of dialogue; and for worst, she wasn’t even a main character. So, I decided to check more videos so if I can find her in major roles. However, something indirectly happened: I was HOOKED UP for the show itself.
This animated series is incredible: the design is nice, even using blush, the characters are tridimensional and memorable, and each episode has an unique and funny adventure. But what I like more is how wise they play with the characters: Henry is a really mean kid, but having him like the protagonist make the show interesting, and we can see his human side in that way, so, we don’t ended up hating him; normally, other shows will have him like the bully, and put a loser like protagonist, something I hate a lot.
While I was doing my Mickeyelric11 Logo, I just can’t stick out from my mind the idea of making a fanart of this series, but not about Henry. I like the character, but, the main reason I start to watch this show was this girl: Lazy Linda.
She is the cutest girl in the show, showing me that blush can work in favor of the design if it’s suttle, and, TO FUCKING KILL THAT SHIT OF PEDOCRAP, another heavy reason to like this character is: I JUST LOVE HOW CUTE SHE AND HENRY LOOK TOGETHER!!! I just want to start a ship with them, because they look for each other *kawai*.
So, like the first from a series of fanarts to this cartoon, I decided to make Lazy Linda, but keeping the same style from the show, while adding a work of color shades, like in anime, so it was worth this work: without them it looked pretty bland. Also, to make it look a little professional, I treated it like a character card, so I put her name, the famous purple hand (THAT I CUT AND PASTE, DON’T MADE), and to put at the bottom the logo of the show (COPIED AND PASTE TOO), and my Mickeyelric11 logo too (I think I’m going to put it in some of my works, so I can use it more), and the copyrights at the bottom in a light color. All the work looks so great for me, I hope you like it too.
Well, thanks for watching it, and, for the fans of the show: I hope you find nice this work, and I hope you can find charming this ship “HenryxLinda”. And, for the ones who doesn’t know the show, I really recommend you, it’s funny, memorable, and the characters are loveable; you can find plenty of episodes in You Tube.
