Little Splendor Man heard the cry of a baby from the other room. He rushed in to see his new sibling, but the doctor was carrying him away, and his mother lay there, exhausted. Splendor approached his mom, in his fancy polka-dot suit he had chosen to cheerfully greet the new baby. "Mommy," he asked, "what is it, what is it?"
"It's a boy," his mother sighed. A brother! Splendor couldn't have been more happy to have a brother! He smiled from ear to ear, wider than he normally smiled.
"What's his name Mommy?" he asked excitedly.
"I'll decide when I see him," his mother murmured. She seemed tired, and Splendor sat quietly next to his mother, waiting for the baby to return. The doctor came back, having wrapped up the baby in a soft black blanket. He seemed troubled. He told Splendor's mother that the baby wasn't normal. Splendor looked up, concerned. Was his little brother alright? Was he healthy, was he going to be able to live?
"Your baby was born 5 lbs less than the normal baby's weight,
