SL: WLB Ch. 1
What Lies Beneath
The room was filled to capacity; perhaps even with twice the recommended amount of people. Jounin of various ages were shoulder-to-shoulder, eagerly waiting to learn of their assignments. There were also whispers of some incident involving another shinobi, Mizuki, and the hated nine-tails child, but Ami found the rumor surprisingly uninteresting. People were always treating the boy terribly. Either that or ignoring him completely, much like Ami did. If it was important, Anko would fill her in at the bar later that night. If Ami let her get a word in She had had her own adventures she hadn't had time to share with her best friend just yet. She had only just entered the village gates from her last mission when Asuma had told her she was expected to be at the Jounin's morning meeting by the Third Hokage.
She stifled a yawn as the aging leader of their village finally entered the room. The people around her seemed to step in closer as silence fell. I

The freezing rain whipped across the white dog mask covering the woman's face so violently that she raised a hand to steady it in case the straps around her head decided to give. The cold slush stung her exposed fingers yet somehow the pain brought relief. It kept her rooted to the field where she stood overlooking the eerily quiet village through the cluster of trees ahead, eyes searching for any sign of movement.
The thigh-high grass hissed as someone approached. She didn't turn away from the village as the man stepped beside her. They had spent their childhood together; it wasn't hard to determine his chakra from someone else's. He was nervous much like he had been when they were Genin, a trait Ami had thought he'd grown out of. The ANBU corps had forced them to grow up quickly and sometimes it seemed they had grown twenty years over the two they had been enlisted.
"Something doesn't feel right," Kai observed solemnly. Ami stole a glance at her former-teammate. He ha

Where am I?
Is someone there?
"You okay?" I looked up to see a young boy around my age. He had brown hair up in a ponytail. He was actually kind of cute. "I said are you okay?" He asked again. "Uh I think so where am I?" I asked. "You're in the village hidden in the leaves, also known as Konoha" He replied. "Oh right I forgot I was on a trip here with my parents when I guess I got lost and somehow " I stuttered "You fainted." He replied. "Yeah" I nodded. My parents where were they am I lost I felt tears form in my eyes. "Oh man don't cry ." He stammered "But I don't know where they are " I cried. "Man how troublesome " He sighed. I looked up to see him reach out his hand towards me. "Here how about we hang out and try to look for them okay?" He asked. "Kay"
Why Should I Worry? It was yet another slow day back at HQ. The team hadn't had a real mission in days and boredom was starting to set in.More Like This
"Maybe we could watch a movie?" Suggested Megan. Even though they knew she would ultimately chose some kiddy movie, the team agreed. After spending nearly twenty minutes rummaging through the massive DVD closet the JLA had set up for them Megan returned with what she deemed a suitable movie for the team to watch, "Oliver and Company."
"Really?" Thought Kid Flash.
"Honestly?" Artemis grimaced. Still, neither one made any audible comment. Within five minutes the DVD was set up and the popcorn was being passed around. The team settled into their seats and watched in bored silence as the outdated coming attractions dragged on.

Wally West wasn't really paying attention to the singing animals, and if asked about it later he couldn't have told you the plot but one song suddenly caught his attention.
"Why should I worry? Why should I ca-a-are?" Suddenly Wally was flooded

The team had just gotten back after spending several weeks off in the Mid-East looking into a terrorist plot which turned out to be a joke. They were in dire need of some relaxation time.
"POOL PARTY!" shouted Kid Flash as he cannonballed into the small pool just outside of HQ.
Aqualad carefully placed his belongings on a nearby table and dove in, arms extended, with every bit of grace you would expect from someone who has spent most of his life under water.
Robin took a running start and back flipped into the deep end. In true form he still had on his glasses, even underwater.
Superboy jumped nearly ten feet in the air before coming down hard in the middle of the pool, splashing out most of the water and bringing about half hearted complaints from the rest of the team.
Artemis and Megan just looked at each other.
"Aren't you guys coming?" asked Kid Flash impatiently.
"Give me a minute Baywatch, some of us actually like to take our time getting in the water," Ar
Never Gonna Leave This Bed~Wally + Artemis~More Like This
This is where they always end up. No matter how hard they try to rid themselves of each other, they always seem to end up right back where they started. In this bed, her head resting against his chest, his hand absently stroking her hair. Their eyes open.
He's tried leaving her. Tried multiple times over the years, but only succeeded once. That one time was two weeks ago, when things just spiraled out of control and each jab went a step farther than the last.
He exhales and touches his nose to her head, in an unusually deep amount of thought. He doesn't know why he keeps coming back here, why he keeps putting himself though this. He doesn't even know if it's worth it. He sometimes thinks it is, and other times it feels like he's grabbing for something that's already gone. Or maybe it was never even there.
This last thought sticks out abruptly and he blinks, refocusing, and almost shakes his head at himself. No, the feeling for her was always there. Or else he never wo
YJ- chasing trainsArtemis always thought of train stations, especially the ones that were outdoor, to be a sort of heartbreak heaven. Which, considering the sort of situation that she was currently in, didn't seem to be that much of a stretch.More Like This
At train stations, or airports, or anywhere really where people were coming and going, there were always tears. Always. It didn't really matter if they were tears of joy, like the ones coming from a woman with a particularly flashy ring on her finger as she met her well dressed husband, or tears of sadness like the ones coming from the little girl with a bow in her hair and a teddy bear in her hand watching her mother walk into the train without a second glance.
There weren't any tears on her face, though, which was something that she was grateful for. If she had cried she never would have forgiven herself.
Adjusting the black strap from her bag so that it was situated more comfortably on her shoulder Artemis double checked her ticket so that she got on the
