Phew....all done. No matter how often I make roses, they still take forever....6 hours to make aprox. 40.

Anyway, this is a victoria sponge with vanilla butter-cream and strawberry jam filling. It has a quilt effect imprinted fondant pot, and fondant flowers.
It was a surprise for a neighbour who really wasn't expecting it, and was really happy...:)

This is another one of the girls class party cakes. It was taken from a design I found here on dA by :iconcheila:
I thought it was a great design to convert to cake...:aww:

Well.....no more cakes till January, and I'm going to be spending a bit of quallity time with my great kids, and my wonderful Husband, so might not be on-line for a couple of weeks.

So all that's left to say, is that I hope you all have a :holly:Merry Christmas:holly: and peaceful and Happy New Year....:blowkiss:

Found some more cakes on the computer for my old cakes folder...should be the last...:fingerscrossed:

I think this was from a book....I'm not sure. I had to make his little bed out of cardboard and brown tape as the icing didn't dry...
...anyway, he is sculpted sponge with fondant..:)

This was a bit of a challenge from beginning to end. I couldn't find the right reference pictures...my sponge was too soft...and well, just problem after problem. Still........ after a week of being tested, here is the end result of my daughter:iconthedarkdestroyer: Birthday cake.

Sculpted chocolate sponge Spyro with edible bits. Wings supported by wire set in the fondant. Pillars are bought swiss rolls covered in fondant pebble effect. Fairy and Sparks supported by wire. I had to make Sparks wings out of paper as I thought he would snap with my run of luck!..:)

I started making this for my Sister-in-law just after finishing the Spyro one. She asked if I could fill and cover chocolate sponge with nutella....so I said 'sure' ..'no problem'. I didn't realise that tthe nutella would start pulling the crumbs off as I was spreading it on, so it was a bit of a long and careful job.
I also discovered that cold damp air, is just as bad as warm and humid. We had a bit of a temperature drop and it rained all day. The cake looked like it had been next to a boiling pot of water.....still, as I always say, a lesson learned with every cake...

Made these cupcakes for the hubby

The frosting were made from scratch. The one in the front has oreo frosting. The two in the back has coffee and chocolate in it maybe? I can't remember. I just know there's coffee in it. :iconinekoitplz:

These cupcakes are based on the "Awesome Mass Effect Characters" by XenofireX, which really are awesome! When I first saw them, I immediately thought they would make good cupcakes, so here they are! Unfortunately I didn't have time to do them all, maybe one day though! =]

So Tali looks a little different from the original, which was because my laptop and I had a bit of a fight and I had to try and do it from memory... didn't work out too well, but nevermind!

My boyfriend's birthday was today and I made a Portal cake for him. It was supposed to be taller, but the cake didn't rise in the oven. The icing wasn't the greatest either, but he loved it and that's all that matters. :D

This is my version of the companion cube in cake form. The base is designed to look like the big red buttons you drop them on in the game.
The cake itself is 8 layers of lemon sponge cake with a butter cream and lemon curd filling between the layers.

I'm proud to have been asked to create a cake for Singapore's first Diner En Blanc event held at the Marina Bay waterfront.

In support of local flavors, I designed this 3 tiered cake/cupcake display, featuring cake made with organic soy flour. The cupcakes are further filled with a soy milk mousse center and topped with soy buttercream.

After all the recent news surrounding the event, I wanted to make a Hainanese Chicken Rice flavored cake but... oh well, maybe next year :)

Made this for my Mum's Birthday.

According to the Chinese Zodiac, she was born in the year of the Dragon. This being a Dragon year, it is particularly symbolic... Yeah... That and I just wanted to challenge myself with something really difficult lol...

Completely edible.
Chocolate fudge and fondant.
2.5 Days.
Estimated Selling Price (if someone actually tried to order one like it): S$1500+

Every year it seems to get harder and harder to chose a cake for my kids, so this year I let one of my girls chose. She thought Joshua would appreciate an edible version of the desk he made. After nearly a week of constructing, I can fully appreciate his hard work :phew: as this was a mathematical and complicated build.

All is edible and to give you an idea of the scale, the Timmy mug is 1inch tall. The blue lines and car sketches are painted on with food colouring.

I made a few of his items to scatter over the top as the desk looked way too clean and tidy for a 19.....now 20 year old student :D

After a long week, Eeyore is finally finished..:)
..If I just had cakes to do....it would be brilliant, and I'd do a lot more or them.....!

Anyway, he's a vanilla victoria sponge with butter-cream and strawberry jam filling. He took about 20 hours including cooking.
The flowers are fondant and attached with royal icing to dry spaghetti.

All stages of the cake are in my scrapbook if you'd like to see how he started....they have notes that are written mainly to myself as I keep makeing the same silly mistakes. I thought I would be able to refere to them if I need to....:)

This is a cake I done in 2003......wow that's a while back! Anyway, I had a friend who let me go wild with her cakes. Anytime she had a Birthday, she'd tell me what theme and just said 'surprise me'. I couldn't find any pictures of The Hulk apart from him breaking through a wall.....so, I though I'd try to make it upright...and it worked....and thankfully the woman really liked it :)

Here are the pictures I took over the 5 days to make the Audi cake. My son Joshua printed out blueprints to help me get more of an even shape and size. I would never have thought of doing that......I was just about to take a knife to the sponge to hack away by eye, then he suggested it. I did find it difficult to imagine the lines on the print, representing lines and curves on the car, but Josh was very patient with me :)

With so much effort going into the design, I used fablon for the front windscreen and put icing around the edge for the frame. This was the only un edible part of the cake which was easy to remove.
