Phew....all done. No matter how often I make roses, they still take forever....6 hours to make aprox. 40.

Anyway, this is a victoria sponge with vanilla butter-cream and strawberry jam filling. It has a quilt effect imprinted fondant pot, and fondant flowers.
It was a surprise for a neighbour who really wasn't expecting it, and was really happy...:)

This is another one of the girls class party cakes. It was taken from a design I found here on dA by :iconcheila:
I thought it was a great design to convert to cake...:aww:

Well.....no more cakes till January, and I'm going to be spending a bit of quallity time with my great kids, and my wonderful Husband, so might not be on-line for a couple of weeks.

So all that's left to say, is that I hope you all have a :holly:Merry Christmas:holly: and peaceful and Happy New Year....:blowkiss:

Found some more cakes on the computer for my old cakes folder...should be the last...:fingerscrossed:

I think this was from a book....I'm not sure. I had to make his little bed out of cardboard and brown tape as the icing didn't dry...
...anyway, he is sculpted sponge with fondant..:)

This was a bit of a challenge from beginning to end. I couldn't find the right reference pictures...my sponge was too soft...and well, just problem after problem. Still........ after a week of being tested, here is the end result of my daughter:iconthedarkdestroyer: Birthday cake.

Sculpted chocolate sponge Spyro with edible bits. Wings supported by wire set in the fondant. Pillars are bought swiss rolls covered in fondant pebble effect. Fairy and Sparks supported by wire. I had to make Sparks wings out of paper as I thought he would snap with my run of luck!..:)

I started making this for my Sister-in-law just after finishing the Spyro one. She asked if I could fill and cover chocolate sponge with nutella....so I said 'sure' ..'no problem'. I didn't realise that tthe nutella would start pulling the crumbs off as I was spreading it on, so it was a bit of a long and careful job.
I also discovered that cold damp air, is just as bad as warm and humid. We had a bit of a temperature drop and it rained all day. The cake looked like it had been next to a boiling pot of water.....still, as I always say, a lesson learned with every cake...

I mean, who doesn't love Rilakkuma? :D

My friend loves him very much, so for her birthday I made her this cake~
It was very difficult...Because, well, I'm no chef. But I tried my best. ^___^;;

The cake was Strawberry-lemon, with choco frosting. Yummm~

My boyfriend's birthday was today and I made a Portal cake for him. It was supposed to be taller, but the cake didn't rise in the oven. The icing wasn't the greatest either, but he loved it and that's all that matters. :D

This is my version of the companion cube in cake form. The base is designed to look like the big red buttons you drop them on in the game.
The cake itself is 8 layers of lemon sponge cake with a butter cream and lemon curd filling between the layers.

My Neighbor Totoro is one of my children's most beloved animes by Hiyao Miyazaki. This cake has alot of firsts for me.
First time covering a cake in marzipan..
First time using modelling chocolates..
First time cocoa painting..
First time making pastillage..

I made this with love and gave it up with love. My kids loved every bite!

Totoro is a freehand cocoa painting on pastillage.
The two spirits, the mushroom, and the acorns are made from white and dark modelling chocolates.

:jawdrop: Holy crap I've made a lot of flippin' cakes!! O_o

This is just a whole bunch of miscellaneous special cakes I've made for various occasions.

Top row, left to right:

:cake: Gary the Rat cake, made for my friend Adrian ([link]) in '06, a stack of "Waffos!" from Little Snow Fairy Sugar, made for my sister's birthday in 2006, the Waffo! cake sliced open, and a slice of it (pretty inside! :D)
:cake: A Halloween pumpkin cake, and another view of it, an angel food cake with a printed pic from the anime Wolf's Rain, made for my sister's birthday in '07 (Angel food cakes are pretty much impossible to decorate much), and the Waffo! cake complete with Snowfairy Sugar art by me! (She's flitting above the stack of waffos, all happy and stuff)
:cake: 3 cakes made for a party that ~D-Ro and I threw. It was a movie themed party, so the cakes were 2 film cans and a Hollywood hill! :)

And now, here's a list of a whole bunch of other cakes I've done...!

:star: Jiraiya/Frog cake - [link]
:star: Miyazaki Soot Sprites cake - [link]
:star: Inu Yasha cake - [link]
:star: Coca Cola Polar Bear cake - [link]
:star: FNBM cake - [link]
:star: Spongebob Squarepants cake - [link]
AND MORE!!! :cake: :faint:

My graduation cake! :w00t:

Took me about two weeks to put together, not including the month I spent experimenting with and making the flowers.

This is made with cake forms, as per the assignment, with varying shades of blue fondant with nonpareils pressed in (took me a while to figure out how to do that effectively!) and accented with cake sparkles to make nebulae. The clouds are royal icing, and the moon is cake-sparkled fondant strengthened with royal icing and then icing-glued onto an upside-down candle holder. The customizable pillars are a new-ish item from Wilton filled with glass droplets. The flowers are gumpaste and floral wire lightly tinted with chalk dust.

The flowers have an interesting story behind them. Fellow anime geeks who are familiar with Wolf's Rain may recognize these as the legendary Lunar Flowers. Actually, in real life they are the blooms of a night-blooming cactus called the Dutchman's Pipe or Night-Blooming Cereus (scientific name Epiphyllum oxypetalum).

Oddly enough, about a year or two before Wolf's Rain was airing on Adult Swim in the US, my mother acquired a specimen of Dutchman's Pipe from a friend of hers. I was jazzed with myself when I made the connection because no one had figured out what the heck it was at the time. Unfortunately it died a few years back, which is a pity 'cause it had such beautiful blooms.

Anyway, I decided to use these on my cake mostly because I wanted something night-themed and I was curious if such an unusual flower could be done in gumpaste. I figured out a workable technique after a week or two of experimenting, and it turned out pretty well, except for the usual extreme fragility of most gumpaste flowers.

I got a lot of positive comments, both in class and at graduation, but it didn't win any awards. Still, I really like this design, and maybe in a few years when my hand is a bit more practiced I'll try to make it again. The important thing is that, for all it's roughness, it proves how much I've learned about cake decorating in the last year and a half.

Hope you guys like it!

The frosting were made from scratch. The one in the front has oreo frosting. The two in the back has coffee and chocolate in it maybe? I can't remember. I just know there's coffee in it. :iconinekoitplz:

These cupcakes are based on the "Awesome Mass Effect Characters" by XenofireX, which really are awesome! When I first saw them, I immediately thought they would make good cupcakes, so here they are! Unfortunately I didn't have time to do them all, maybe one day though! =]

So Tali looks a little different from the original, which was because my laptop and I had a bit of a fight and I had to try and do it from memory... didn't work out too well, but nevermind!
