Super-SoldieryThroughout the 20th century, the three superpowers and their allies all dabbled in super-soldier technologies. The USSR lagged behind, as it suffered most from the Second World War and the Crises of the 50s and 60s, and after that more resources went into conquering and colonising Mars. Before the Fourth World War, the two main states for whom super-soldiery was a serious endeavour were the United State and the German Reich. Their methods were similar, mostly using serums, gene therapy, physical and psychic training and drugs. However, their doctrines differed. American super-soldiers were considered soldiers and integrated parts of the US Armed Forces. By contrast, the German super-soldiers were organised separately from the Wehrmacht, and were considered an end goal in and of themselves as much as a weapon.
