2 of 3 legendary dogs complete! This is Suicune! My favorite of the dogs. :D

Honestly, this might be my new, all-time favorite piece. The colors came out so well, he ironed like a dream, and I love the mid-running stride of the sprite itself.

Here is the way I do my crossplay makeup! It came from a lot of trial and error, and from reading tutorials and adapting the techniques. In the same way, this tutorial can give the general guidelines (or at least I hope it can), but know that everyone is different and may require a different makeup to achieve the desired look and that it’s up to you to experiment. I would say the best way to know where you need to put shadows is to look at yourself in the mirror while under an overhead spotlight; the natural shadows you see are the ones you need to recreate. Also keep in mind your character, his age, traits and complexion, and the colors you are wearing; not two of my crossplays have the same makeup.

Always take pictures of yourself when experimenting, otherwise you’ll only see yourself in the mirror and think you look awful (I still do everytime). Pictures give you the objectivity to judge your work instead and see how you can improve. Drawing over pictures of yourself in Photoshop can be good practice too!

Don’t forget to apply your makeup in a light similar to that of the convention center or photo shoot emplacement where you are going, as to correctly gauge the shadow intensity needed.

I don’t talk about highlights in this tutorial because my skin is already too pale as it is, but if you have darker skin or are wearing a darker or unnatural color in body paint, the places you can lighten are the brow, the nose line and the chin. With the body paint, I recommend using very dark of the same color on the eyes and medium dark for the other shadows.

This is personal but I am a firm believer against the use of eyeliner and mascara in crossplay (except if you’re doing stage with it, then by all means go ahead). Unless your character would wear makeup himself, I feel you shouldn’t look like you’re wearing any, otherwise you’re harming your credibility. This is why I prefer to keep to natural colors and undefined applying.

This tutorial may not be enough for those with very feminine features. In this case, prosthetics may be needed for a successful look.

I’d be happy to answer any questions or to go into more detail or theory. :aww: And I’d love to hear from anyone who tries it out! :D

(Please note that I am in no way an expert in makeup; disagreeing with any of my statements is perfectly valid. :))

EDIT: I've been asked about the eyebrows a lot: I don't literally lower my eyebrows by covering my own and painting new ones, I merely add more under my own and towards the nose. The covering technique can work as well, of course, there are a lot of ways to go about it. ...Sorry if that was confusing.

Great outdoor pic of my two best papercrafts to date.

Edit: Woah, logged in today and just had a ridiculous amount of messages and found the cause to be I got a DD! Awesome! I can't thank everyone for all their very kind words individually so...thanks to all! I can answer some of the more specific questions that came up though:
Size: Mario is 40cm tall and Luigi is 50cm
Templates: Mario can be found here [link] and Luigi here [link] A lot of the credit goes to Ignatius of the nintendopapercraft forums for editing and designing these fine models...
Instructions: I intended to make instructions for Mario and Luigi but never really got around to it and now I'm too swamped in projects to find the time for them. Let me say they're not easy but if anyone wants to attempt them I'd be happy to help them with any questions they might have.

This model has been made as part of a collaboration between :iconxenonray: and :iconstudioofmm: to finally bring you all a detailed papercraft of Midna in her imp form.

The pictures here are from Studio of M.M's excellent 122cm build! Have a look at some of her full photos: studioofmm.deviantart.com/art/… studioofmm.deviantart.com/art/…

Derived from her trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I edited Twilight Princess' fiesty imp into a form suitable for building way back in autumn 2011. But it was in an awkward floating pose and I ended up working on my Garrus model instead and forgot about her for a long time. A year later I learned to re-pose it in Blender to a more basic but workable standing position, edited it a lot more and made an unfold.

But technically there's a catch compared to my usual models. I only built most of the body file before stopping (not however due to bad design I stress). Sadly the colours of the skin came out all dark from my printer, including what should've been the lighter toned bits. So I lost interest but it would've been a shame to shelve the model for a second time. Fortunately *studioofmm volunteered kindly to help me out...although she had it in mind to edit and enlarge the whole thing to build a life sized version! So now with her great finished photos and the knowledge that the model is buildable all the way through, I'm releasing both of our versions of the template.

So in short there's a normal 37cm version and a life sized 122cm version available (the Fused Shadow makes up about 33% of the height). But no instructions, PDO files only because you'll certainly need them: best not to be messing around trying to figure things out from a PDF. But we've included plenty of notes to try and help you, however it goes without saying that you might want to have some experience in papercrafting already.

If you have any questions, please ask me about the general model/smaller template, or Studio of M.M about the life sized one. We'll try to help as best as we can! :)

Please tell me if you spot any errors that I might have missed due to not building it myself. (not something I'm going to make a habit of)

Retrospective: Can't really comment as I didn't build it myself. But I'm glad some good use was gotten out of the project in the end.

-------Read Before Downloading-------

It's a 8.75MB RAR file which contains PDOs to print from and use as a references. 17 pages for the small one (not including stand), and a whopping 120 pages to bust your printer ink on for the life sized one. :p

You can open the RAR archive with software such as WinRAR, Alzip, 7Zip. Just search around!

You can open the PDO files with Pepakura Designer downloadable free here: www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en…

You will need to use these to print from and figure out where the parts go, especially for the big template. It won't work on Macs unfortunately unless you emulate Windows etc.

Difficulty: High

:pc: Download Options:
1. Mediafire download: www.mediafire.com/file/tecn6cw…
2. DeviantArt download via Stash feature: sta.sh/0u6z7ycf57v

Happy building!

Hello everyone ^^

The test building is over! What
a work, but it was a lot of fun! I can finally share with you my first Papercraft. The original design came from the Mario 8-BIT Amiibo, but I created the 3-D model, the textures and unfolded it. I hope you enjoy it ^^

Regarding the building itself, I've made a TON of mistakes. How stressful was it. The first mistake came from the paper choice, that made all the colors look faded (except the mustache and the eyes, which I've made with black paper). After that, I've also glued some pieces in the wrong spot, so had either to cut them off or reprint them. And, of course, there are some glue stains, because I wasn't paying enough attention when building it. Problems aside, I still really like this model and I'm proud of it. The design is a bit like Gundam Papercrafts, which you build small pieces and glue them together. It gives a Lego feeling to the model and I really think it fits with this particular design. I'm considering remaking it in a proper scale using colored paper, because it will look so much better. Speaking of scale, this one is a little bigger than the original Amiibo. I checked the dimensions on the Amazon page of the original Amiibo, but I think they gave the dimensions of the box that contains the Amiibo. I didn't realise it until printing, but it's not a big deal. This particular one mesures 190x99x132 mm, so printing 2 pages per sheet should give the 1:1 scale. As you can see, there's the pipe on the background. You can, of course, put the model inside the pipe (It's made for this purpose).

About the template, I will not be releasing it right now. There are some mistakes I have to fix on the 3D model and it would be impossible to build it without instructions. Since I have another project I want to finish before Christmas, I don't know when I'll have the time to create the instructions. But rest assured that, as soon as I can, I'll be doing it. For now, that's it.

See you next time!
Até a próxima ^^

Hello everyone ^^

So here is the 3D model of my next Papercraft. It's based on the newest Mario Amiibo, that I thought was really REALLY cool. This one has the modern colors, but I intend on making new textures (Classic, Luigi, Fire, etc).
I hope you like it, but it looks almost the same as the real one.

Ps: The colors will be more vivid in the final model.

See you next time! Até a próxima!

Hello everyone!
So here's a teaser on the next model I'm working on. This one is kind of tough, because I started the 3D model from scratch. There's a lot of things to do until I finally build it, but I'll be posting the advancements from time to time. It's from a character that I really like, but never found a Papercraft model that pleased me 100%. Care to try to find out what it is?

See you next time! Até a próxima ^^

Finished the Yoshi papercraft a while ago, but my camera died, soo... yeah. xP

I guess I had fun making this although there are no instructions, it's pretty simple, all you have to do is make the pieces first and figure out where they go.

Technical stuff: You need pepakura viewer www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en… to open the .pdo, and adobe reader to open the .pdf . To open the .rar file, you need winrar to decompress the file. It's much better than winzip, IMO. All these programs are free!

I'm... I'm done. I'll put up a bigger collage of all the sides tomorrow when I can take pictures in daylight. or I might do a gif of them.

he meassures 80cm and has been my hardest build yet. I built him in 160g-paper. the grand assembly made me cry. for real. I mean, it was HARD. I had to go with double sided strong tape on some parts because they just fell off otherwise. but I'm very pleased with the outcome and I'm really proud too.

oh, there is one thing missing from my model! the hair. I'm building it too and will take the final pictures when I'm done with that, appart from the pictures I'll take tomorrow. it's just that the hair proved harder than the face even, but I'm gonna put it together asap so you can all enjoy a perfect papercraft War! <3

Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy Yoshi's gift of six of his eggs, get e'm before they hatch or before Yoshi decides to use them as projectile weapons that explode into fireworks again :lmao:

For the uneducated, Yoshi is Mario's on-off again cuddly pet dinosaur who has made appearances in several of the games providing an array of new versatile tricks to make life for Mario a bit easier. Yoshi's have been seen in almost every main colour imaginable, but the six recurring colours that have been seen in more than just one game are green, red, yellow, dark blue, light blue and pink. Obviously the colour of the egg determines the colour of the Yoshi :pills:

Secretly I've been wanting to represent Yoshi's famous brightly-coloured spotted dino-eggs in realistic 3D for a long time, and I decided to start on this days ago when I realised Easter was coming up. Just as well I didn't wait longer since it took 7 hours to render (which I had too do twice since I wasn't sure if I wanted depth-of-field or not) and perhaps little over twice as long to make :p The Eggs, nest and flowers were modelled in Cinema 4D, then Imported to Vue 7 where all the lighting and texturing was done, as well as adding the vegetation around the nest, I even made the egg's spotted textures procedurally without texture-maps too =p Some very minor postwork in Photoshop but mostly outright 3D :D

Yoshi (and I suppose his eggs) are the copyright property of Nintendo. please also respect my copyrights and don't steal my images

The mochi plot for wold domination! >3 hahaa.

Pic taken of the mochi plush I made for selling at Animazement artist alley, all of them found new homes!

Each fits in the palm of your hand (for size ref), and is made with soft minky fur fabric, the ears are fleece, Ultrasuede, or felt, and they have plastic pellets inside for weight. The eyes are ultrasuede glued on for this group, though nowadays I paint on the eyes so they can't ever come off (it's also faster/easier/cleaner).

Mochi are $6 each. :)

I whipped this little guy up in about half an hour. :3 He is a mochi-bunny. :D Based on the Asian legends of the bunny on the moon, and precisely Japan's for the mochi part.

The ears were a little difficult to manage with a thinner yarn and the lack of pattern made it a bit harder as well, but I'm very pleased with how this little one came out. :3

If anyone has been on gaia longer than recently, you'll know where this guy comes from. X3 Well, an evolving item, but still. XD
In any case, when I was still a frequent gaian this was my favorite item. :3 Decided it was high time I made him. XD There are others I want to make too, but in time. :3

Here is the tektek page of his evolutions: [link]

In any case, it was simple to make and I'm thinking of maybe trying out a moon bunny, though maybe my version. ^^ I'm not sure yet.

Enjoy guys and be sure to keep an eye out for the last picture for today from me~

That means we can easily help raise $25,000!!! With this in mind, please vote as many times as you can before DECEMBER 25th because each click truly makes a difference. Now spread the word! ♥

Thanks everyone!! Here's a link to my submission:
