More Like This
It's like a slight pull.
A stab in my heart,
that pulls and pushes,
up into my shoulders,
and into my neck, and then my mind meets
with the connections of lighting that shoot down
my veins and into my finger tips.
I carefully trace the palm of my hand, across
the water's surface, and then gently,
while bending my fingers together
levitate my hand up,
and miraculously, the water comes with it
like a picture taking at just the right moment
nothing drips from my finger tips.
Water in mid air, frozen in time,
- yet free.
I slowly bend my arm down, flexing my wrist,
twisting slowly, bending the muscles in my hand.
The water is at my command, as if it's now apart of me
twisting, swirling, twirling, in the air.
It's magical. No, not magic-
I spread my fingers slowly apart,
holding the water just above me,
looking through it, towards the glinting sun.
I push and pull my fingers apart and together,
and watch the sparkling water particles,
suspended in mid-air, dance.
