Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit.

This is my first attempt at CG art.  I sketched an initial black and white drawing in pencil based on a screencap reference then scanned it into Photoshop CS6 for painting. Things I've learned so far; fur is fun, beards rock, and long wavy hair is a nightmare.  Had I actually recorded the number of hours spent on this I would never again pick up a stylus. Good thing I have no concept of time.

This was actually the digital color exam for the Illustration class Im giving at the ITESM(Institute of Technology of Monterrey), and this is what I came with.

now i gotta finish buttons and that last commission and then...commission samples for fanime. ugh, traditional aslkfjsldkhg

I'll be selling this as a 12x18 print at Fanime [San Jose, CA]; I can also accept pre-orders that can be picked up at Anime Expo [LA] from my friend. I will try to sell online at some point, as well.

A minha interpretação segue a descrição do livro, assim como misturando traços e aspectos das versões para TV de Daenerys Targaryen e Khal Drogo.
Baseado no personagem da obra "As Crônicas de Gelo e Fogo" do George RR Martin.

So I asked you guys what to paint in terms of fanart/redesigns
and I chose one of the most iconic evil guys
I'll try to pick up some more of the suggestions though. Thanks again, folks!

I ended up sticking to the original design mostly although I had started out with plans to make it a redesign. So it resulted in this weird mix. Ah, whatever.

1.5h, it's been a while since I made a speedpainting...
it's clearly not the best I could do. Careless planning without concept.

Lol, maybe this will get me hired to work on some SW property again (not really)

edit: not sure how he looked feminine (I must have been drawing one too many girls), but I made some tweaks, also changed the helmet which I realized was really off after I checked some ref.

second of seven works for diploma project at my school.
i am going for fantasy with slight sci-fi elements - a world where technology exists side by side with magic. the designs portray sample classes for a mmorpg type game, elven/demonic hybrid race.

second is the assassin with vertebrae-like tail and double daggers (which i will most likely edit later on).

the expected date to complete the designs is october 2012. around that time i will come back to each of them and make final edits, which is when i might change the files for these pieces.

One of two pieces I had the privilege of illustrating for Applibot's Legend of the Cryptids online card game.
Really great company to work for, they treated me like gold and gave me a lot of playroom to design with.
Took some guilty pleasure in illustrating something a little more on the adult side as well since I never really get to do it anymore.
