Happiness's PricesCarrie was never the speaking type in class. And who would blame her? She felt because she wasn’t human, which meant that in some twisted way, she didn’t matter. It wouldn’t matter if she never came in or even disappeared. She was a ghost. One could easily forget about her.More Like This
“It’s not fair.” Carrie thought to herself. She looked out the classroom window. Snow fell from the dark skies in sheets, covering everything to the naked eye.
Carrie sighed and slumped back on her chair. She could hear the droning lecture. It was something with the skull or organs, she didn’t care anyway.
Then, the little metal bell clanged wildly, signaling the end of the day and the start of the weekend.
Students rushed from the classrooms in glee. They burst out the doors and ran down the white sidewalk.
Carrie was usually the last to leave. She decided to walk home today. She would take the bus, but she just wanted to be alone.

"Carrie you say? Why isn't that the cute little ghost girl you hang around with?" The traveler asked becoming intrigued at this new request.

"It's just that... I don't know what to do about Penny." Carrie was surprised to have herself feel a little more miserable than usual but she simply flipped her bangs and shook it off.
"It's just that, I like her but I don't know if it's for the right reasons... My mom just told me something really uh... wise?" She nodded.
"'Maybe you're only in love with the idea of love.'" He winced as he said this before daring a glance at her.
"Do you think she's right?" He asked.

In the morning, she dragged herself out of bed and made herself ready for school. As soon as she got on the bus, she looked out the window and watched the houses go by.
