I was laying in my bed at about three AM, unable to sleep when I heard a strange noise from the end of my bed, I was scared for a second but dismissed any doubt of it being my dog, she always comes into my room at night and barks at my window, as if something's there. Suddenly all four of my dogs run outside barking as the noise carried on, I froze. Fear running through me as the rustling and shifting continued, it coursed through my vains like someone had turned a tap on in my brain and left it on. After possibly five minutes i had decided to confront whatever was there, i counted to three softly in my head and quickly sat up, I forced my face into a scowl incase it was my brother tormenting me for almost sleeping with my light on, but it wasn't him. The man at the end of my bed was far from my brother, he wore a black suit and tie along with a crisp white shirt, he was about my height but my eyes were drawn to his face, it changed continuously. It mimicked my childhood fears, Chuckie, Freddy Kruger, Jigsaw and so many others, it looked at me with those ever changing eyes, and whispered things, it's voice changing with it's face. It shunned me, but I have long since forgotten the words of hate it whispered. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed my TV, the black glossy screen melted and I watched as it turned into a mirror, My light was off but the room I saw in the mirror was brightly lit and I was not in my bed, it flashed and Freddy Kruger's burnt face stood to the side of it, his claw to his face, smiling eyes under the fedora he wore. I turned back to the thing at the end of my bed, it hit me with more shuns and hate, I screamed at it, "SHUT UP!! GO AWAY!!" tears streamed down my face as I screamed my heart out to it, it spoke one last time, whatever it had said broke something inside of me as I lunged at it, pulling at it's suit and biting it's neck savagely.
I suddenly opened my eyes and found myself biting the neck of not the thing but the bear I sleep with, shaking I ran to my sisters room to ask what happened, "Lucille! I just had the worst dream of my life!"
"Really Aisling? so did I..." as she said that her room flashed and we were down stairs in the living room, facing each other next to the mirror, I didn't notice as I asked Lucille another forgotten question, she didn't answer and I turned to the mirror, Behind me the thing stood taller than it was before behind me, smiling it cocked its head to the side, revealing deep bite marks, the ones I had made.
This time I couldn't scream.
