It was dark when I was awoken, a hand on my shoulder and a soft voice in my ear calling me into consciousness. The room grew increasingly familiar as my eyes adjusted to the dim light, yet another white coat but a solitary one this time like the last flicker of hope in a darkened world. My last hope.
Once again I had returned to life as it were, real life that is, no longer the solitary inhabitant of an artificial nightmare. A cell from which there is supposed to be no escape. At first glance it appears like an ordinary hospital, all the standard equipment, doctors, hospital gown, all the way down to the stench. Seemingly being the only patient in sight and that weird interrogation could be put down to severity and my own imagination if it wasn't for some more concerning clues to confirm the existence of my situation. Neither he nor the girl had spoken for some time but that didn't seem to matter. It had always been that way really, only this time the silence seemed more profound, something to be enjoyed now it was not forced upon them and they were free.
