Acrylics on canvas. I’m not positive about the size… I think it’s around 30” long? Forgot to measure it. Painted in about 10-12 hours total, I suppose.

The marks on the canvas are scratches and water spots. The paint was scraped away in places. I also used my fingers in smear the paint around in some areas.

This is the best I have ever photographed my acrylic work… for once I can happily say the photo does the colors justice!

Fire and Ice - Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Scratching completed except for the whiskers. Not sure whether to color it or not. But usually I end up coloring most of my boards.

I definitely struggled at the mane and tail of the horse. It was a nightmare... Took me 3-4 hours just to get it almost right?

Anyway, enjoy!

Oil on canvas. 18"x24".

A larger more detailed version of my previous tiny 5"x7" "Moonchild" painting which wasn't photographed very well, either.

Inspired by the song of the same title by King Crimson.

Illustration for an article in "El Norte de Castilla" It's about girls and death, and the danger behind innocence. I love to illustrate this things.

I've used two different drawings to do this. A pencil drawing for the child and a watercolor painting for the roses. Then they're combined with Photoshop. You can see the process here: [link]

This is a charcoal-pencil girl I did for art class!

She's very different from most of my other drawings, but I thought it would be nice to put her up and see what people think anyways.

Portrait of the beautiful Kate Beckinsale in Underworld(awesome movie if only for Kate Beckinsale). Anyway, done in charcoal. I don't know about everyone else, but trying to draw a likeness of a beautiful actress is one of the hardest things for me because everyone knows what they look like and since they are sooooo good looking it's real easy to notice the smallest error. Oh well, I think this one turned out better than most of the ones I've done. Let me know what you think.

I felt like taking a break from drawing demigods today so I drew a sort-of speed painting of... sexy-Percy diving IT MAKES NO SENSE THIS IS NOT A DEMIGOD BREAK. Hum. Who thought I'd get into PJ 's fanarts so much.

More demigods coming this way. One day when I don't get distracted and actually finish the few works in progress on my hard drive.

I wanted to do a piece that was based off an old photoshoot a few friends and I have done and I haven't had much time to go about in doing anything lately aside from other comic book projects and family issues.

Hopefully I'll have time in the future to do more.

Oh yes, more sequential homework this week again. Clopin is a teenager, I aimed at fifteen years old at first but he looks more like eighteen now, and Esme's four or five. She just wants to give her adoptive brother a big old huuuug after he comes back from the high seeeeassssss.

I need sleep. I'm aware their proportions suck. I'm working on it.

Yay, I still exist! And I promise I'll upload some more original stuff soon. Maybe some fan art for Artemis Fowl or Discworld...

Anyway, it's the Golden Trio drawn in the style of Tim Burton. Original by !hannah-dora here: [link]

Colored with Seashore.

-----------------

EDIT – PLEASE READ: I can't be sure, but I think some people are under the impression that I drew this originally. This is probably my fault for not being clear in the description. Anyway, the point is: I didn't draw this. !hannah-dora did, originally with just a pencil. I just colored it, after getting her express permission to do so.

"Can you keep a secret? I’m trying to organize a prison break. I’m looking for, like, an accomplice. We have to first get out of this bar. Then the hotel, then the city, and then the country. Are you in or you out?" – Lost in Translation (2003)

STEP-BY-STEP PAINTING PROGRESS: [link]
REBLOG ON TUMBLR: [link]

Early release of one of the portraits that will be on display at my upcoming cinema-inspired solo show! I'll slowly be uploading new works throughout the next month.

Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation is a very beautiful and subtle film, another one of my all-time favorites! When I first saw it I was in high school and it totally went over my head, but I saw it again a few years later and... it brought tears to my eyes! Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson are spectacular in it. Digital painting from references, Adobe Photoshop + Cintiq 21UX tablet.

The opening reception for the show ("MOMENTS" by Alice X. Zhang) is on Friday, June 7th at Bottleneck Gallery. If you are anywhere in the NYC area at that time, I would be delighted to see you! Admission is completely free, more information and RSVP at the event listing.
