I couldn't see more of those sad images and wanted to do something that suits Steve's character...
In fact, it has touched me very hard. When I heard of his resignation months before, I was shocked.
I only could afford a few Apple products, but I'm excited about the things that Steve has done for us. The support he has intended for Pixar always impressed me so much! I studied animation and I was so glad the technology came forward and became even more beautiful. What is technology already without visual appearance?
Thank you Steve Jobs. ♥

My first time painting with oils! Think I am now addicted!
I couldn't start painting with oils without doing a classical painting so I decided to do a copy of John William Waterhouse's Ophelia, not quite like the original but I am proud of it. Worked on it for just over a week, spending 1-2 hours on it almost everyday.
This is my version from this month's reference from
The photo is from
No idea how long it took me to draw this but I would say something around 10 hours. It was a nice change from the portraits and I really liked doing it. But now I have to go back to portraits. I found such a nice reference a few days ago...
-14cm x 19cm -Bristol Board -3H, 2B and 4B pencils
Seems like I don't post my pencil lines very often anymore, so here's some. I have other deviations that I liked the pencil lines for but I just didn't think of it. XD Usually I draw things and breeze through coloring them in the same day.
Anyway, Allison brought up an interaction between Gale and the asfarasIknow nameless Inky Lockjaw. It sounded like nice therapy art. SO THERE IT IS.
I'm not sure what that expression on Gale's face is meant to be, but if it were me I'd be peeing myself.
I may or may not livestream this tonight while I color it. I also have a fantasy exchange and study sheet that need coloring so I would certainly have plenty, I may choose to tinychat instead, though. We'll see! I'm still in tinychat right now and may be for a couple more hours if any of you want to stop by.

When I first started reading comics as a kid, I started in the middle of the Marvel SuperHeroes Secret Wars (issues #7-9). That's where I discovered Spider-Woman. My first thought was "Who is this lady?!? She doesn't look like the red one from the cartoon!" But I kept reading and didn't let that slow me down. I'd later learn who was who and didn't let two Spider-Women throw me.
I guess she's called Arachne now. But to me, she'll always be Secret Wars Spider-Woman!
Drawn with COPIC markers, Pigma Micron, TRIA, and Sharpie markers, with WhiteOut.
Coloquei o título em inglês porque não tem acentos nem "til" em títulos aqui! No bom e velho português "Detetive Anão".
MidCity is a place where all the inner workings of the larger Capital City take place. It is nestled in the rock of the mountains that hold the walled Capital City above it. Here is where the blue collar inhabitants live and work and dine and spend their down time. It is also the location of the prison police station and one of the better greasy spoon cafes in all the galaxy.
Subject: Bertha arrives in MidCity to meet a contact at the MidCity Cafe.

It's just a (very) rough fanart quickie, but for some reason I really like how it turned out. It's charming green Elphie in her early teens, before she became Elphaba, the feared Wicked Witch of the West Since I've read "Wicked'' (good book, READ IT) I'm quite obsessed with drawing her. I always wanted to show her as a child, but it's my only first succesful attempt of this. I tried to make her look troubled and well, ehm, wicked and still not to lose that innocent look of all children (they always have it, no matter how mischievious they actually are).
Disclaimer: Elphie belongs to author of ,,Wicked" and creators of the same-titled musical, certainly not to me.
SO, my little creative mind has been busy comming up with some weird hybridizing of ideas yet again... My decade long obsession with Eland Antelopes, and eventually riding them, has spawned yet another strange new idea. Lets take a walk down the process of evolution of how my mind works for a moment...
First I discovered a couple images, one quite good, of Elands who had for some reason or other lost one or both of their horns, the one horned Eland reminded me of a Unicorn, and got my little mind working...
THEN I discovered some of the historical evidence of REAL Unicorns, which historically were goats, and there is a developmental abnormality that causes the horn buds to not seperate properly and fuse together to form a single horn... a famous example was this white Angora Goat with it (some suspect it was surgically altered;
Which of course led me to discover this was also done with cows (giving me an idea of forming a Unicorn Dairy, because really, there HAS to be some sort of Niche Market for Unicorn based food products right? and well Goats and Cows both have "Unicorns" so why Not? Along the way I discovered THIS diagram of how to surgically alter a young two horned animal into a Unicorn... theoretically the altering of the skull shape enhances intellegence (according to some authors, but really who knows or cares?)
Then I discovered a small article about WHITE ELANDS, ie a condition called "Leucisism" which is not a true albino (despite the fact that it is often labeled that) and I had a new thought (I had trouble locating DECENT photographs of the Leucistic Eland (the one website which has a photograph of them and sights having several in its herd, only shows a small photograph of a baby walking with normally colored Elands... I DID however find a photo of the closely related KUDU in Leucistic, as well as a "Dilute" color morph of the Eland:
Now there are all the pieces, put them together... If you got your hands on a Leucistic (White) Eland calf, and had this Unicorn surgery performed (Basically moving the horn buds together BEFORE they fuse to the skull) Or simply had it loose one of its horns for whatever reason, you could have a large white Unicorn that could be ridden! (while technically you could ride a Unicorn cow... they just are not espeically Elegant or comfortable to ride as cows have these short legs which lead to a very CHOPPY way of going, and Elands are graceful horse-sized animals with long legs and ideal riding conformation if you look at the shapes of the back).
Which of course led me to this idea of seeing a Unicorn Eland running arround an enchanted forrest, and since I have these watercolor pencils here, and I was recently teased about not using color alot (I actually do, just havent put it up on DA) I was sketching out at the pool and this sort of happened... the Unicorn Eland galloping before a waterfall, Wisteria tree, White Datura plants, and Moonflowers.... obviously its a WIP, and unfortunately not espeically well digitized. The subtlty I am getting out of the WC Pencils and blending them is quite fun.
I thought I'd upload this small ink piece as I haven't had much new stuff to show you lately, I'm afraid! I am working on pieces for shows and a collective artbook, none of which I can show for the moment...!
I hope you like it - if you would like to see more like this one, I regularly upload ink doodles on my Tumblr and my Facebook page (I will get back to doing these on a semi-daily basis once I am done with my other commitments)!
First off, I'd like to say that the house design is not my own. I used sweetgreychaos' design, so go check her out! Her stuff is amazing! [link]
My house is a way smaller version of hers, so sadly it isn't as crisp, but it's a house none the less.
I had a problem with my new yellow I got... it smudges everywhere! I constantly had to keep fixing that damn moon!
Just out of curiosity, lets see how many of you actually read this little description. Put <3 <3 <3 if you read this! *edit* Holy crap, I didn't realize how MANY of you read this. I'm impressed! Haha! I now understand!
Aaaaand.... this is what happens when you try doing light effects that are FAR beyond your skill level. xD;; So, please do me a favor and do not criticize the lighting effect (yes, those weird greyish parallel rays that seem to come out of nowhere) - I already know how crappy it is. Any other comments are welcome.
I'm probably very much biased by how unhappy I am about those light rays, so I won't go into detail about how I feel about this picture - maybe you guys will give it more love than I do.
