TransienceDuncan leads me back into a dark and narrow corridor, his hand on the small of my back. There is a slight gap between my sweater and the top of my slacks where his finger falls. His skin is frigid and the chill that curves its path up my spine does so from that finger. In many ways, it is as lethal as the cold steel we train with every day.More Like This
He pushes back a curtain of ivy to reveal a small structure in the center of a grove.
Everything here is the green of new grass, the structure, though wooden, is a thing of beauty in itself. It's a shack at best, but the vines climb it and cling there artfully. The windows are stained in shades of red and violet. The door is a glorified tarp, hanging fabric of a deep scarlet whose only lines are those created by its own weight. It is soft under my fingers as I enter this place.
Inside, the walls are the same raw wood as they were outside, smoothed down carefully to avoid splinters. There is a table in the center of the room with a block of clay that

Yet sometimes eye to eye,
I see a girl that likes to follow,
With a light sparkle in her eyes.
She sees me as a someone,
Which i highly doubt i am,
She sees me as someone,
Who she wants to hold her hand.
I see her as a red head,
With a bad temper yet passionate heart.
I'd lace my fingers in hers,
If i didn't break her heart.
The pieces are broken,
So is her emotions,
I'll try to fix my mistake,
Not knowing how long It take.
Sincerity in my words,
There is an ache in my chest,
You won't look,
Or talk to me again.
As much as i hate to say,
It hurts me to this day,
The girl whose heart I broke,
Looks better now that i can't have.
Eventually shes free again,
I'll take her hand and gain her trust,
It won't hurt like it did before,
I'll love not hurt nor break or fuss,
I wouldn't want to hurt such a lovely girl again.

"I caught you, you're infected now," Siv said, with a frown.
"I don't see what this stupid game has to do with war and fighting," Reza protested.
"It's serious, Reza. Because I just killed you. And now you have to mercilessly hunt everyone else." There was a beat of silence between them, as though Siv had just hit a point that made all the difference. A wicked grin crossed Reza's face.
"I get to be the predator now."
"So what's the point in avoiding getting caught? Ha, I bet I'll get more kills than you."
"You're on, bitch."
Dreven turned the corner. He felt her before she dropped on him. Total knowledge of where she was made it a little harder for her to get the jump on him. He sidestepped her as Reza dropped into a crouch and darted at him.
Knowing she was coming was one thing, but he'd failed to take into account that Reza was still faster than him. She took him down in a pile of limbs and laughter.
"Welcome to the horde, brother," she sa

Slender horns curved back over her head, twisting, spiraling back through scarlet red hair. Her armor was light, but more effective and better made than most you can find in hell. Angel's armor, armor that would burn a pure-bred demon to the touch.
Reza sat astride a large beast, akin to the earthen elephant, but with a spiked shell. Her litter was fastened to its back, and next to her sat her twin brother, his long hair braided and over his shoulder, the deep scarlet offsetting his healer's uniform.
Red and black, they both were. The black embroidery on the red of Reza's uniform. The red embroidery on the black of Dreven's. They were like Yin and Yang. They were like push and pull, like the sun and the moon. Like an angel and a demon. Of course, her uniform was covered by a short breastplate and a pair of silver shoulder guards.
Today, they rode north to take a city that had become unusually hard to hold onto in the recent months. Rebellion

"REZA, I SWEAR TO LUCIEL IF THIS DOG PEES ON MY CARPET ONE MORE TIME I AM GOING TO FONG YOU!"
She peeked out of her bedroom and into the shared bathroom between the rooms she and Dreven shared. Just as he'd screamed, her little Cerberus was sitting on his floor with one leg hiked. She smiled a little, in spite of herself.
"Trip, to me!" she called, snapping her fingers. The three-headed dog ran to her, tails wagging wildly, and each head pushed against the others, attempting to vie for her attentions and a pat on the head. She pet them all with both hands.
"Trip?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, all of them together are Trip. Triple. Get it?"
"Yeah, I guess "
"I debated Trice but decided that was too ghetto," she continued, shrugging. Dreven covered his face with his palm.
"They're cute, but what are their names individually? I want to make sure these dogs know who I am."
"Primus, Secundus and"
"Let me guess. Tertius?"
Reza just grinned.
