Something different. Please be sure to provide me feedback as to which you prefer. If this is well received, I shall add it to the Pollination series. If not, it shall stand on its own. I personally want to save all the angst, sad, and grief for the miniseries "Seventeen Years".
Anyways, this was just a test. I can say for certain that I don't want to do this again, unless you people just REALLY love it for some reason.
As the sun sets, we continue to march. Ruby leads us in silence, massive red ursa skin cloaked over her shoulders. I remember when she first discarded her original cloak for the skin. It was originally black. Alas, that was many years ago, and that cloak reminds me of what was once a paradise every single time I lay eyes on it.
Looking back, I sigh. Blake and Yang march behind me, faces stoic with discontent. I know with all my heart that it is not from such a steep hill that we are currently traversing. Instead, it is from the many griefs and turm

One of these combat suits isn't a contest entry. See if you can guess which one isn't like the others!
Velvet Scarlatina deals with an onslaught of "combat gear". Hilarity ensues.
"Penny, could you move Blake and Yang's bed over to the corner?" Ruby asks absentmindedly as she rummages behind a collapsable wall for changing clothes.
I stare at the bed. It's standard issue, and they're not so easily moved. "Of course, friend Ruby!" the girl responds with a robotic amount of joy and effortlessly pushes the bed over against the one that Ruby and Weiss share. She immediately calls to Ruby, "Task: Complete!" Gently placing her hands behind her back, she gleams with joy, unblinking.
"Woah." is all I can mutter. "How are you so strong, Penny?" I ask her with genuine curiosity. I'm totally not terrified of the possible answers.
"I am-" She begins.
"Combat ready!" She and Weiss finis
New, Non-Fluff/Humor/Shipping fics?I've seen a few comments on the Reiss subreddit that say they've stopped reading my work because it feels like the fluff is being repeated at this point. I have always considered branching out to other types of fics, but I please ask that you all hear me out.More Like This
Excluding my miniseries "Seventeen Years", I've written so much fluff and shipping because my personal life is filled with much grief. I come to RWBY to create a world in which there is no grief, no sadness, and no despair. If you people want more emotions and types of fanfics, such as sadness and anger, I am more than capable of writing them. It's just a matter of "Do you, the reader, want that from me?"

"Status report!" Ruby Rose demands.
I look out on the infinite ocean as its warm breeze blows across my face, sending my hair back and tickling my sensitive ears. "Well, captain-" I begin.
"Admiral." She immediately corrects.
"Admiral Rose," I amend. "It would appear that-"
"You know what?" She interrupts me again. I look to my left, past Weiss who has her head in her hands as she leans on the deck railing, and stare at our team leader. "I think Supreme Admiral and Commander of All that Is Awesome sounds better." She looks at me with a bright smile. "What do you think?"
"I think-" I attempt. Again. And she interrupts me. AGAIN.
"No, not you." She shakes her head. "Yang. I'm asking Yang what she thinks." She explains, pointing to her sister who stands to my right.
"You know what I always say, sis." Yang runs a hand through her hair as she looks out at the water front. "Go big or go home!

Part three of my RWBY miniseries "Seventeen Years" In which Team RWBY wages war against Team JNPR in the Second Punic War.
Let the legends take their places.
A cold wind blows down, cutting me across my face. "Come forward, sister!" Yang Xiao Long bellows at me, smashing her gladius, a thirty inch stabbing sword, against her bronze breast plate. The noise startles her steed, but she quickly settles the beast and laughs. "You shall not learn to kill if you do not learn to KILL!" She adds with a gleam in her smile.
Deep breaths, Ruby. The courageous only know death once, the coward a thousand times. Tightening my grip in my own gladius, I give my own horse a quick slap on its sides with my legs, commanding it to charge forward against my sister. I was adamant against using real weapons for combat when she took me under her own, personal command, but she swore on our mother's grave that no harm would come to either of us. Her exact words being, "I
