Some might have seen this elsewhere, before... but I've been asked to post it here as well... so here we go This one is rather recent work, whereas Golden is nearly two-three years old.
The people who know me, or who have seen me around for some time – they know this character. Hajieelkhe is part of one of my longest running plots, and I've designed him, redesigned him, remade and re-attempted him so many times now that I hardly know where I started off. I do remember that in my initial plans for him, he would either have greenish skin or greenish hair... but as it turned out, I really never seemed able to pull the green-skin bit off. So I gave him green hair. Green hair that I eventually dumped for black hair.
Now, however, I did an attempt at green again. I feel this is the closest I've ever managed to get to the Haji in my heart. I decided to be brave with the colours the way I always wanted to be but couldn't seem to get 'right'. Here he is, Hajieelkhe – little brother of Indeoque. Rebellious but delicate, heartbroken though insolent, passionate and and warmdarkhearted.
(EDIT: ah. this was in teh wrong section before... now it should be right)

NINJA TALKSHOW (part of Project KEEN) (C)MESS STUDIO
My coffee bot was officially oudated. Replacement was necessary if I was to continue filling my tummy with essential factory made liquids, packed with msg and red dye #2. So here he is! New coffee bot fresh from the packaging!! Fully equipped with Espresso Machine, shelving, refridgerator, microwave, stereo system, and two choices of slurpee flavor. My previous one has retired and spends his days playing cards with my Octobaby.
I hate having two setups for games and computer. So I finally integrated the two. Joyous day! Now I don't have to turn to face another screen. <_<; That was starting to get tiring.
And dude, what's with all these holes in my floors!! Stinkin' mice!!
Oh my, this took a while. Especially labeling the games and cds. That took heap long while. But now it's done! This is me in my ideal Workstation. If it were on the floor, I could just lay out a sleeping bag next to it and never move anywhere. Oh boy, I'm lame. Didn't count the hours spent on this, but there were many. Photoshop cs and Painter 8
Partly done for bedroom interior design for Ninja Talk Show ASHCAN. Coming soon!
Posters on the wall are little clips of NTS characters: TU and ARIYAN. Lines by HOON and colors by me! (they're coming soon too! woohoo)
Thanks for taking a peek. ^^
And please please please check out the CLOSEUPS in my journal!! [link]
Hey everyone! Here's a photo I took in Porkala (a cape outside Helsinki in Finland) when *bliz, *Bavenmark and I were out there shooting seascapes. This one is taken just as the sun was about set. I processed the RAW with the new Photoshop CS3 beta and added soft vignetting and the frame.
Okay, this'll be the last update for a while. I've uploaded these in the wrong order – I did this one before I did the Hajieelkhe piece and before Glimpse of Summer, yet I uploaded those before Spoiled for some reason. This was my entry for the CGchallenge of Master & Servant at CGtalk. I entered, not to win but to have fun – and to my great surprise, I -did- win. My BOXX computer is my best friend now. If you ever have the money to buy a wonderful new system – go BOXX. Unbeatable.
Anyway, please click the bigger version. The small, ratty one doesn't do it justice. I've worked harder on this picture than any other I've ever created and I've never painted so many details into any one canvas (this doesn't necessarily mean that it's my best painting... some think it is, some don't. Only thing I CAN say is that it is without doubt my most 'interpreted' piece I've ever done. Everyone has an opinion on what it's about, and a lot don't agree with -my- interpretation... which is fine by me: that's what it's all about. See what you want to see.).
Prints of it available here, [link]

For those who haven't seen the M&S entry, here's the write up that goes along with it:
"At times, Nature is the master of Humanity... and at other times, Humanity certainly rules Nature.
Nature makes us hurry inside when she weeps rain upon the world. With hurricanes, she toys with us. Tornadoes are used to punish, earthquakes to throw us about like pebbles in a child's game. We live on her land, and through that, she rules over us. Our very bodies belong to her - they age in rhythm with her, and they are subject to urges and desires that she imposes on us. In some ways, we're little but slaves to Nature's ways.
But Humanity... on the other hand... has found another way to dominate. Humanity destroys what we touch. We reach out towards pretty things in greed, and leave a trail of death behind. We fence the woods in, we run over the animals and poison the seas. Ours is a different kind of mastery but it is one nevertheless. Nature serves us because she has no other choice. Humanity always expects Nature to mend what damage we've done: heal the woods burned down, return the animals hunted to extinction and cleanse the seas... never considering what will happen the day Nature is no longer there to catch us.
In this piece, I tried to show this relationship. Humanity a na´ve yet destructive burden, the smile on her lips slight and dreamy as she thinks of the beautiful flowers she will pluck and the lovely birds she will see while all around her these very things now fade away. She's blind to the destruction she causes. She knows that Nature will be there for her, she knows that there will always be the scent of flowers and always the gentle surge of the sea. She is Nature's master in that Nature has no choice but to try to catch her and always try to mend the damage she has done... but she is Nature's slave because she must breathe the air, drink the water and eat the food that only Nature can give her."
This was a business card I designed for a good friend of mine. He is a plumber that also does heating and mechanical work. Did spot UV on the color portion of the cubes and rounded the corners to match the graphics.I think the card came out quite nice and my friend loved it.
This brush will make your strokes look like they were drawn with a pencil. Thin were the stroke begins, wider in the middle, and back to thin were the stroke ends.
Each size comes in two variations - one with the stroke getting wider to the left and one with the stroke getting wider to the right.
If you need other sizes just copy one of the sizes and modify it.
Put the .ai-file in \Adobe Illustrator\Presets\Brushes and restart Illustrator.
If you use this brush feel free to link to your deviation so I can see what you can do with it.
Edit: I have included another version of the brush for those running older versions of Adobe Illustrator. Thanx ~tracksix for the info on how to convert it. Use Lineart_Brush_by_jimro.ai in Adobe Illustrator CS2
Use Lineart_Brush_by_jimro_AIv10.ai in Adobe Illustrator 10 or CS
The greatest tragedy is indifference.
Enjoy every living moment.
Every little drop of beauty.
Passion is your key...
Although she doesn't really look like her, Lee Jung Hyun was used as a reference for this drawing.
Unfortunately I had to shrink it a lot to upload it on DA...it lost a lot of details, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out
After not submittimg anyuthing for so long...bang bang bang! looks like I am posting everything I have been playing with in the last few months of "silence"...
Again...I am trying to let my brush strokes a lil more free...relaxed.
I feel like a "brush stroke nazi"!!! It has to go where I want it the way I want it...grrrr...I need to let it go wherever IT wants to!
...Harder than it seems!
the topic for this week was to create a propeller driven plane that could have existed between worldwar 1, but and worldwar 2 but no further than the middle 30's.
since the topic was so broad, i chose to tackle this based on the merits of the design, and went for this mid engined biplane with a forward mounted cockpit
due to the color scheme and cockpit layout as well as the enviroment i put it in and the amount of lift those wings could give it, this sorta turned into a high altitude search and rescue craft, but could technically be anything from recon, to mapping etc.
the only detail i wish i could have fleshed out more (i have no excuse why i can't, i just am not going to get around to it) would be the landing gear. but i gave hints to it on the back by the rear number.
anyway, the lines were done in sketchbook pro, and everything else was photoshop cs3
CHANGES SINCE LAST WIP
- lengthened the cockpit - placed little duders in there (pilot, nav/comm officer, spotter?) - color corrections - contrast and saturation adjustments on the mountain tops
Working at my computer can be a pain. All those cups of coffee
collect and turn weird colors. I obviously need to upgrade my
coffee bot. The new ones will make you coffee, take your old
cup and wash it, and they're not too overpriced.
I tried to teach my octopus to assort my games and put
my memory cards in the appropriate cases so I don't lose them,
but he seems more enthralled with some clothes I left lying
around on the floor.
For inspiration, I need only glance to the left and look at the
Ramen bowl on my wall.
Is that giant pocky? And what smells like purple?
Some silliness in Painter 8. At first it was a doodle of me at a
floating desk (I want my workspace suspended from the ceiling)
then I kind of took off with it.
Whenever I make a new journal entry, I include a picture of chibi-me and usually my mascot (little purple octopus)
Many people have asked me to post them, so I will post every three entries or so as a set. Here are first three!
If you want to know the subject that goes with each, check out my journal!
Dunno about you guys, but I think this is one of the best, if not the best 3D works I've ever done. Took round about six hours to make plus about half an hour to an hour render time for all three images. YESS!!

next up is my keyboard, mikes guitar, and drums
Hi every one. I know its been a while so Ive worked very hard on this one- put everything into it. Blood, sweat, tears, and the socks my grandma knitted for me when I was 4 Please feel free to comment and tell me what you think. Thanks guys.
Had a bit of a creativity block this morning so I took some time out to sketch something. I love the old Japanese style armour so I did a little painting of a fallen Warrior, lost in the lush green and blue, his suit and clothing casting a strong shape in the natural surroundings. Just playing about really anybody who knows Craig Mullins will recognise I have used a similar style.
Hope you like
