Had this drawing sitting for a few months but I never put it up. I was originally intending on making different head and arm units with radomes, hands, missiles, etc. Sections of the frame and each module are made up of 2-3 layers each so I can slide pieces in and out at will.

I haven't updated in awhile but I've been working on a new project that should kick more ass than anything else I've done in the past.

Ever since I posted that reference sheet a few days ago, I've been working nonstop on this. Please, don't click "download," as the full image is about 4500x7000 pixels, and might make your computer explode.

"Deus ex machina" is a Latin phrase meaning "god out of the machine." It is defined generally as "a plot device whereby a seemingly inextricable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new character, ability, or object." According to Horace's Ars Poetica, a poet "must never resort to a god from the machine to solve their plots."

I disagree. Y'know why? I like invincible battlesuits, that's why.

Height: 6'6" (Karic Standard)*
Weight: 340 lbs (Karic Standard)
Power Source: Cold fusion microreactor
Armament: Condensed-particle Carbine (x2), Anti-armor Combat knife (x2), "Snubmachine gun" SMG (x4)

The "Orchid" series of battlesuits were designed and constructed by Taylor Heavy Industries for Karic's "Warchild" supersoldier program. It's considerable weight is counteracted by a combination of powerful motors and lightweight composite materials.

Fully laden and charged, the Orchid can turn a supersoldier into a nigh-unstoppable one-man army, untouchable to anything short of a concentrated artillery barrage. It's personal energy-shielding system makes weapons as ordinarily potent as RPGs just as useless as small arms fire.

Its primary weapons, a pair of experimental particle carbines, can potentially be used as a mid-long range sniping weapon apart from the suit. The suit has four sub-arm manipulators, two on top of the thighs, and two shielding the elbows
(They're white, and have a stretched hexagon on them). Each of these sub-arms is capable of wielding a submachine gun, and when fully equipped, give the Orchid an omni-directional field of fire. The sub-arms can only be used by Karic's supersoldiers, thanks to their neural uplinks and increased mental capacity.

The standard paint scheme of the Orchid battlesuits is overall charcoal gray camouflage, lacking any personal, factional, or unit markings.

The variant displayed was captured along with Reina Cloude** by the notorious Saldean*** freelancer, "Timberwolfe" (Granted, she was not using it at the time of capture). Reina's suit is presumed to be in lockdown mode, as it has not been reported in any engagements. If suit is sighted and operational, do not engage. Retreat immediately and call in orbital strike.



*In the universe of Novus Imperium, Karic is humanity's homeworld. It is uniformly covered in a blanket of multilevel city, and has an artificial ring, as well as several deep-space colonies in orbit at Karic's Lagrange Points. It is the most powerful planet in the galaxy.

***Saldea is an enormous solid planet. It is inhabited by humanoids, who are heavily muscled to counter the planet's high gravity. On an earth-like planet, a Saldean will likely seem to possess superhuman powers.

The initial draft of the Minerva Battle Armor with the Vanguard Unit that Inami acquires in Chapter 5 of my fic, which is something like an integrated weapons booster pack consisting of:
- Twin "Pitone" rail cannons that fire .79 caliber H-E projectiles at Mach 6.
- Twin identical spear-shaped swords with unique specialties.

The "Tsuki" sonic sword that vibrates at a frequency far beyond a humanís normal hearing range for better shield penetration, and the "Akari" heat sword that glows white-hot, delivering the destructive power comparable to that of the Sun on every blow for shield power attenuation.

The two swords can be combined into the "TsukiAkari" double-bladed lance as shown above. At this form, the swords has the capability to project either a heat or sonic wave depending on which side is used.

Next is the Karin System, which was acquired alongside the Vanguard Unit but remains ambiguous until Chapter 7 where Inami finally activates it.

The Karin System involves a series of panels opening up all around the Minerva's armor, including the mouth plate. This reveals the concealed, powerful heat emitters that encases the Minerva in layers of concentrated heat----

The revised form of the Vanguard Minerva. With the Vanguard Unit's thrusters and Pitone cannons integrated into the unit's body itself.

The Minerva Kai has its arsenal revised, with some weapons being improved, removed or unchanged:
- Mach Magnus, remains unchanged. It fires shield-penetrating Comet bullets that come in clips. Each clip holds six Comet bullets.

- Ingram Kai, improved version of the Ingram double-barrel rifle which simultaneously fire solid and energy rounds. Re-tuned to fire much more potent energy shots while solid bullet remain unchanged. (Shown in sketch)

- Acre Kai, improved handheld impact rifle. Re-tuned for better shot compression, weaker shots but boasts much more velocity than the Ryuhow on the Shenlong IS.

- Mirage, removed in favor of the TsukiAkari.

- Pitone, twin railcannons, remains unchanged.

- TsukiAkari, a double-bladed lance, remains unchanged. Still retains the ability to split into its individual spear-shaped swords.

- Energy blade emitters concealed in the forearms.

The Fold form still retains, albeit a wee bit more complicated due to its integrated armor.

Other features:
- Overboost, vastly improved in terms of thrust velocity and usage duration.

- Karin, remains unchanged.

Revision of the Minerva Kai Battle Armor design.

Armament-wise, it's still the same.

Design-wise, I attempted to make it more streamlined compared to the original but it may still look a wee bit off in terms of proportion.

Then again, I managed to opt out some detailing to keep true as much a I can to the "streamlining" purpose of the revision.

My first attempt at 2D Mecha art, dubbed as the Strato Volt.

I named it as such because this mecha is my variation of the Volt Thorn Mecha from MechQuest, an online Flash game developed by Artix Entertaintment.

As you can see, there are several stray marks all over the mecha, which proves my noobish Illustrator capalbility when I was drawing this.

Now you may be probably be thinking "Does this guy love Newbatrons so much?". Answer is no, i'm not XD.

This, my sixth Mecha artwork, is made as a tribute to Artix Entertaintment's MechQuest game.

By the time I sketched this mecha, I was already used to adopting the right view, and also learned an efficient, yet effective coloring methods.

The name "GundaMech" is an obvious spoof of Gundam, my favourite anime Mecha series!

The blade weapon shown is also a fanart, but instead of being a fanart of a Gundam weapon, this one was based on the Energy Sword in Bungie's Halo 2 game.

Not much to say about this one since it's the 3rd incarnation of this BG but I resubmitted it because there have been some minor changes added to match another image I'm submitting to keep a certain theme/style.

Changes include a thicker outline for the full view mech (which I'm not sure I like or not after all), the BG head has it's sensor eyes lit up with glow now, the missing decals have been added & the name description has been changed slightly.

It was only the matter of time until I would try my hands at creating a Metal Gear (unsuspicious cardboard box is totally unsuspicious). My main inspiration were the AI attack crafts from Peace Walker and various real military vehicles. The first concept was quite different, it featured sperical wheels and was a lot bulkier than this one. I started out with modeling a rough base mesh in Blender but I quickly noticed that I went into the wrong direction. Sometimes it's better to start all over again haha. The result can be seen above. This piece is a mix between a simple 3D base and lots of photobashing and overpainting in PS later on. Btw, I nicknamed that thing "cricket" because of its hind legs.

I would also like to note that I do NOT approve the use of weapons in real life.

Well, I decided to colour both versions after all. It's not something I'll be doing again any time soon. This is the MDG Culverin with weapons stored. The weapons deployed version can be found here - [link]

I hope to start working on the wallpaper soon so as to keep with the rest of the MDG series. The WIP name/class of the Culverin is a Multi-Limb Battleship. Similar to a Mobile Armour from Gundam, the Culverin is much larger in size to other mecha like the Phantom [link] or Archer [link] & would sport a name similar to a ship. While more than a match for any mech already in survice, the primary role of this particular design is to hide amongst asteroid or debris fields and attack shipping lines, base ships & other larger support craft, similar to a WWII submarine. Most space bound mecha launch from and require base ships where as the Culverin is a ship onto itself despite it's appearances.

This is the Heimdall armor suit. Its the third piece of the Aesir armor lineup along with the Fenris [link] and the Tyr [link]
it fulfills the role of scout/sniper with emphasis on stealth and concealment.

This is accomplished in many different ways. The suit is made of a light, durable, polymer type of armor which allows for ease of movement and greater agility. The material can also receive data about the surrounding environment to alter its appearance creating an effective camouflage system. Other features include sound dampening, vision augmentation, and variable sound amplification receptors.

The Vanir M408 is the standard issue sniper rifle for Aesir snipers. Its a relatively simple magazine fed .408 caliber rifle. Other weapons can include Gungnir class heavy ordinance. Weapons under this class can fire rounds ranging from 50 caliber to 25mm. These are usually reserved for heavily armored opposition or removing high profile targets from great distances.
