I saw her immediately from afar as she had the longest hair that went down to her waist. She was holding a DSLR, casually taking photos of an event happening in Orchard. When I was taking her picture, I thought about asking her to take off her glasses... it's a good thing I didn't.

plowing over an older park to make a bigger one... with two soccer fields!

i used to move a lot until my family finally settled here permanently, and it's interesting to see how the city's changing and growing. the general feeling here is that this place is awfully suburban and boring - it's easier to say you're from toronto than mississwhat? i used to feel like that, that this is only a temporary home and that i'd haul my ass up to toronto one day and feel much cooler. but i really do love this city lately. for the past few months i've been noticing more and more construction, from fences to condos to parks, land pulled up and rolled over and dug in - construction and destruction. there's some more stuff i want to add to this paragraph but i haven't figured it out in words yet... so.... yeah...

also i have learned that it is very hard to take a well exposed picture of a field of dirt. and i don't know if there will be a II to this. so for now this is it

The oil spill is something we should not forgot yet we seem to forget too easily. I admit that I forgot about it too, untill I recently heard that they are still trying to solve the problem. I was surprised and shocked. How long was it again? That they have been trying to stop the leak.
Even if it happes in US, Europeans should not think that it doens't affect us in any way. Because it does. Even if it feels bit cheesy to say that we are all united by one sea, it's still true. So what happens there affects us too, maybe not right away but in long term.
As they say a single flap of a butterfly’s wings can cause a tornado half way around the world. But since this is about 60000 barrels oil per day and not flaps of butterfly's wings, the consequences are also far more devastating. The local fishing industry has already gone crashing down. And obviously it has also effect on the tourism and there is big vacation spot Florida right next to the spill.
If they could not stop the oil spill, the oil would spread around the world carried by the ocean currents. First along with Gulf stream along with the eastern coast of U.S.. Then it would spreat towards the North Europea and Azores... Just look at this map of the surface current and you can speculate the routes of the oil slick. [link]
North Europea has some big fishing industries. So for example if Icelands, which already has some major economical issues, fishing industry would suddenly have to stop fishing the whole country would be in deep shit.

I know animals are close to many peoples hearts. For I love especially birds and it makes me sad to see them dying. Those who are not killed by the oil die from the polluted fish they eat or starve to death because there is no fish anymore.

As I live outside of the U.S. I'm not able to volunteer to help, but I can always donate to help and spread the word about the oil spill. I found these 2 pages, first one contains lots of information about the oil spill and how can you help: [link] and the other place has lots of links to different places where you can donate or volunteer [link]

I'm not much of a writer but I hope I was able to put up some of my thoughts.

Common Swifts (Apus apus)

Firstly I want to thank you all my +400 watchers, I have no idea where did you all come from, but wow. You are all awesome.

This painting was inspired by few things. For me the Swifts are the sign of summer. So the first time I saw them this year I was so overjoyed that I nearly crashed my bike into a tree (I was too busy looking at the sky, so I did see where I was going). I was also listening to this song [link] (I swear I didn't see the music video untill now : O ) while I was cycling so The whole situation turned out so awfully emotional that I though I must paint Swifts. Also the fact that best time to see and hear Swifts is the evening was also big part of the inspiration. (as you can probably see)

Also, I said last time that I don't really paint anymore because it doesn't feel good. Well I found out why, I know artist shouldn't blame equipments for anything but I must blame my old brush this time. It was so worn out that it felt like trying to paint with fork, I didn't even realise that before I bought new brush (For fun here is picture of old and new brush [link] they are same size and same brand). So hopefully I'll start painting little more now.

Ok, not the best picture ever... but perfect to display the surrounding of the nest I followed for 1 week this summer. Only 2 chicks... verry poor year D:

5DMkII + 50 1.4 canon. 4 flashes on this one (one above, one in front of him, one behind and one for the background...)

Enjoy

My entry for the "Character of the Week" 302 : A personal gremlin, from conceptart.org

When I think i've lost something, in fact that little monster ate it with his huge mouth. Igrizifel the Gremlin sneaks around my house dressed with an old sock, always looking for his next meal.

EDIT: Don't miss the awesome 3d model made by :iconpabgo: based in this deviation! [link]

The other card I did for the recent Scourgewar release. This one was of my wife's Troll huner, Yojimba, who has sniped many alliance dogs in her time. FOR THE HORDE!

Missmonster helped me get the coloring started, and Pulyx pretty much took it to the finish line after I did a couple last minute tweaks.

They're good folks!
