A soul alone I scan the distance
No road no trail do I call home
I follow thought and soul and vision
And travel on a path unknown.
Not for me the mighty highways
Where crowded souls march double time
Nor the trails traveled by fewer
The course I set is only mine
I meet many on my journey
As their travels cross my path
Many follow for a distance
But turn aside they do at last
Wanderer I have been called
Searcher I have been named
I go where no one else has gone
and dare the fires flame
Someday I may find another
Perhaps a place to make my home
Until then I'm the wild winds brother
