I was looking to my file when I noticed this picture untreated. At the time I took 3 pictures. The result of the 3 images in Photomatix surprised me.

I love it!

We had 24 hour nonstop snow storm on the second day in Tombstone. It turned out that winter arrived Yukon two weeks early (which means we missed red tundra Fall colors by two weeks). The good thing is the storm decorates Mount Monolith pretty nicely. The morning when I shot this was extremely cold. My tripod legs were frozen and could not be extended. I ended up had to boil water and pour it before going out shooting. I was able to extend and set up my tripod once. But the temperature was so cold that it refreeze pretty quickly. It was getting worse actually haha.

Lesson learned

Milky Way and colourful airglow, Tasmania, Australia.  19/05/2013

The night before I got the aurora display on my trip to Tasmania last year, there was another brief display but I was effected by too much cloud cover where I was staying.  I made a decision to jump in my car to try and find a clear area of sky.  After driving for about an hour I did find a clearing in the clouds but the aurora display had ended.  It was not a waste though as there was still some amazing colour in the sky from airglow.

10 image panorama, Canon 5D MkII, 14mm, F/2.8, ISO 3200, 30 second exposures.

Somewhere in Detroit Michigan lies this beautiful old, gothic chapel : I've been waiting a very long time to get into this place and just over a week ago I finally had the opportunity ! That's what you can see if you do some summer walk in my region : a huge herd of fluffy sheep grazing on our french volcanoes ( La Chaîne des Puys ).
This late june sunset was quite the perfect moment to capture them and the silhouette of volcanoes in the background, with a beautiful warm light and a nice display of clouds.

Day 176 of 365

Approximately 180-degrees of panoramic mammatus goodness. This photo op made the day. We chased southern Nebraska, but nothing fired. Drove back north in hopes of seeing a cool shelf cloud in front of a big squall line. That didn't happen. I'm sure there was a shelf, but it was foggy out in front of the storm, so we couldn't see anything. Could not believe how beautiful these mammatus turned out to be. The craziest thing were those long streaks that connect to the mammatus and extend all the way out to the edge of the anvil (which is who knows how many miles out there).

Day 219 of 365

Further proof that you don't need a good camera to take lightning photos. While my 40D was occupied on the tripod doing a timelapse of the lightning display, I got out my PowerShot to entertain myself. This is all I did:

1.) Set the camera to its lowest ISO (80)
2.) Half-pressed the shutter to focus the shot (since it wouldn't focus on an empty black sky, I pointed it at a street light)
3.) Braced the camera against the window
4.) Full-press the shutter when I saw the initial flash of light (which then transformed into the craziest cloud-to-cloud bolt)

Funny that the best photo of the night ended up coming from the PowerShot and not the DSLR. =D

Here's a few of the images taken by the 40D that night: [link]

June 19th, 2011

An other-worldly supercell roams across the plains of Nebraska at night, illuminated by lightning. Chased this storm literally from when it was a tiny cumulus. Then started producing little hail. Then a tornado. Eventually, it morphed together with another storm. You'd think that would have killed them both, but they somehow merged into this freakish tsunami wave-like structure.
Wasn't sure what category to put this in... feel like there needs to be a whole new category for photographic animations lol. "Living pictures" or something like that.

Alright... maybe not exactly a haboob, but it was kicking up a ton of dust, so... close enough ;)

Caught this storm on May 30th, 2011 out near O'Neill, NE. During this chase, we got out windshield busted by softball-sized hail. Not a TON of storm structure to be seen, but the "dust storm" part was interesting =D Wish I would have got the whole telephone pole on the right framed... oh well :P

Please tell me what you think!

A lovely tropical island paradise. The water is so clean that it is lighter than the sky. It's hard to beleive that there are still places like this on Earth.I have never been to the tropics so far so I get my inspiration from posters, calanders, travel commercials etc. this has the potential to be a good wallpaper.Hope you like it.

So I'm recently obsessed with Final Fantasy VIII, because I started to play it again and having childhood feels.....and well this is what happened xD. I think Roy looks nice in the SeeD uniform~~ e3e. The title is because of the FF8 OST song with the same name. Also because "the lion" fits Roy very well, because you know.... it is the KING of the jungle xD
I know ~egyptian-sands and ~Toasty-Coconut will agree with me because they love picturing the royai family as a family of lions e3e/

I hope you like it~
