Meeting MexicoSouth Vietnam knew for a fact that there were very few things America would admit she was afraid of and of those things only two were common knowledge: communism and Mexico. With communism, South Vietnam could at least understand the threat, but she knew almost nothing about Mexico besides that she was America’s neighbor and sister/mother figure, she was once Spain’s colony, and she was associated with tacos. Beyond that, she knew nothing, and that made Mexico even scarier.
