A Day in the Life of a SparrowMore Like This
Sugar frosted hillsides glisten in the sunlight.
Green grass, from under dew drops of sugar water,
reach out for the sun's warm embrace.
Blooming flowers unfurl their petals in the glory of the morning's light.
I blink awake and emerge from my bed.
The day's warmth dries my dew soaked feathers and
my ethereal wings flutter open.
I look to the blue of the sky and sing to my brethren.
A tune whistles through my soul and
out for all to hear.
Music is my heart beat;
I can't help but dance to the song.
Hopping along to the candied goodies given by the walking angels.
My comrades and I sing our gratitude then
eat, but don't get too close, fearing our demise.
Still I sigh and praise the great mother, 'tis finally spring time!
