Early morning on the road next to my town. I was actually going home from a friends' wedding and saw fog gathering in the surrounding areas. Since I had my camera with me, I took a detour and decided to couple the wedding with an early morning photoshoot. Seeing the sight of this lone tree by the road, in this light, I didn't regret the decision one bit

When I first moved to Washington, I saw images of Prusik Peak pop up in magazines here and there, and thought "I MUST GO HERE!" After doing some research I soon found that getting here wasn't a quick walk in the woods. Prusik Peak is one of the Enchantment Peaks located in the Alpine Lake Wilderness Area in Washington. The hike through the Enchantment Lakes basin is 18 miles long, gaining no less than 6,000 vertical feet. Though this hike was one of the hardest that I have done, I was also rewarded with some of the most gorgeous scenery I have ever seen. Prusik Peak is just one icon of an area with endless beauty; countless mountain lakes and tarns, huge glacial valleys, craggy peaks, and larch trees, which turn electric yellow during the fall. For me, experiencing the Enchantments satisfies a major goal of mine.

Over the coming months I am going to be chasing more storms and adverse weather and on this morning it was pouring with rain and a day that I would have just gone back to bed. When taking the shot the rain had stopped only for about 20 min.

The best show of light from our trip to the southwest. Taken from Coyote Buttes South. We didn't try to play the powerball lottery to get the Wave permit so we picked up a permit to go here insted. This place does not disappoint either. A spectacular array of some very psychedelic sandstone.
