*Edit: Increased sound quality since DA's limit is 30mb . Scene selection (for some odd reason) Only works if you're using the latest flashplayer AND firefox. Sorry IE folks but i got no clue how to get it working for you. (though it does work if you press and view it in the download bit)*
If you have trouble viewing it here, you can go to:
6 weeks in the making, and then 4 weeks making it again.
This flash has got to be the most unluckest flash i've ever made. Not ONLY did the copies corrupt all the time, but my stylus pen broke, i got a bad eye infection AND digestive infection, and to top it all off, the main FLA files got a memory leak so bad that i could no longer add anything to it. So after another 4 weeks of assing about, i finally have it ready. And i an't adding no moar!
This flash has the most frame by frame i've ever done, about 85% of this movie is, and it damn near killed me too. The file size of the swf got a little too large so i had to go back through and tween things that i could get away with. Shows that doing it all frame by frame isn't as possible as i thought.
I had to cut it short at the end due to file size limits, as well as pushing flash to its own limitations, so apologise for that.
ANYWHO i'll leave you to sit back and watch what i've been working on for the past month and a smidgen.
I dunno if i've forgotten anything, if i have ah well. I'm done with it!
Critiques on animation are welcome! Ah must improveeee
First watch my previous shorts: here here and here If you don't like 'em, you won't like this. Guaranteed.
Not much to say, the flash speaks for itself. Took the whole day. I had fun, ran out of funny ideas to keep a consistent "every frame is Christmas'ed" theme, be happy I didn't keep repeating bad jokes. Take what you can get.
Got a small bit of flash/sound editing and frame-by-frame practice from it. The poster was also good drawing practice. Not all horrible.
I made a new icon! *dies* Took me about two days, actually, using flash (sketching and timing) and photoshop. and the last hour was put into trying to figure out how to make it less than 15kb. x_x I was going to make dinner, like.. six hours ago. I'll do that now... BECAUSE I CAN
English: What you can see in this stamp, is a typical Dutch (and I believe also Flemish) delicacy: pepernoten (translated: pepper nuts). They are mostly eaten during the Sinterklaas holiday, which is around the end of November and thebeginning of December, but they're already in stores now... just like Christmas cards...

An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself. A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find - the brush tool, the eraser tool - to get back at his tormentor. It's resourcefulness versus power. Who will win? You can find out yourself.
This is a story about a child who started drawing at a young age. After being caught drawing in class their parents believe its time for her to give up her silly hobby and grow up.
This is my final end of year project for my course. Some people from the iAnti forums may remember this from its animatic form some months ago. Originally I was going to do a comedic narrative, but then I decided to change my mind and go for another approach. Its easy to get people to laugh- its far more difficult to pull at heartstrings within 3 minutes. The idea came based from a lot of my friends who Ive seen their parents want them to quit drawing because its only for children. So this is all dedicated to them. This is not about me. I was blessed with a lovely family and both my parents encourage me to go along with my art. Though the main character has some similarity appearances to my old persona design, its simply because the hair is by far the easiest for me to pull off, thus easier for me to keep consistent through cleanup.
Urrrrgh. You know I did enjoy animating this... and when I say animating I mean the key frames ect. Not the clean up. Clean up and inbetweening is the most boring, tedious thing Ive ever had to do. Especially when working 7 straight hours pretty much only gave me 10 seconds worth of animation.
The ending can be interpreted in so many different ways. When I showed this to the people on iAnti they told me their different interpretations, it was pretty much blown away at how many different conclusions they had come to.
The song is Cryptic Sorrow and is royalty free and found at incompetech.com . The song was originally 8 minutes long. Somehow I managed to cut it down to 3 and still have it flow nicely haha. Thanks to Frank, Jane and Terry for helping me. Also thanks to for making my preloader and replay button (and inbetweening a very small amount lol)... and Mitch and Nathan ;A; ilu guys <3
Reoccurring Questions Did you use Flash? Yes I did. NEXT QUESTION.
How long did you spend on this? Too long. Around maybe.. April or something like that I did the draft/animatic. I didn't touch it again until I think July?
Did the child die in the end? Like I said. The ending can be interpreted in many ways. Some people have thought it like a suicide and others saw it as them choosing to pursue their desire of art. Really it comes down to what you think of it as.
How come the adults don't have faces? Cause of symbolism. The lack of a face is kinda like a lack of creativity and imagination.
What's your interpretation of the ending? Mine is that the child chose to go with what they loved to do, even if the result was that their parents severed all emotional tied with them... idk something like that.
This was a part of an ask on Ask Revolutionary War England's blog on tumblr. I made it into a gif but I couldn't stop laughing when I actually made it that I had to post it onto my DeviantArt. Please, if you're on tumblr, go follow that blog and ask questions! My friend (she draws, I cosplay) and I love answering them! <3
EDIT: HOLY SH--!! THE VIEWS AND FAVS. And this got on the front page of the 8 Hours tab? I-I don't know what to say but THANK YOU!
EDIT 2: Over 1,200 favs and 6,000 views... and it's on the front page...?
EDIT 3: I don't know how this ended up getting over 2,000 favs and 13,000 views, but it took me only about five minutes to make this. Please look at my other stuff in my gallery as well, since I have much better photography than just this gif
