I Had a DreamWorldwide, women started becoming pregnant with things other than babies: small appliances, footballs, kittens, puppies, exotic wildlife, wads of clothing, and many unidentifiable objects... perhaps some not of this earth. Most (all?) are immaculately conceived; most of the pregnant women do not have partners.More Like This
At first there is panic. Emergency surgeries. Confusion. Official news of the events are suppressed but there are simply too many -- everyone knows somebody who has become pregnant with an object. Normal pregnancies still happen but they seem to be tapering off.
Many pregnancies are too large to be delivered naturally so there is an uptick in c-sections.
The first object officially delivered was a Cuisinart food processor. The doctor wiped away the goo and plugged it in with shaking hands, switched it on. It worked perfectly. 24 hours later the woman went home with a new $199 appliance.

When Writing a PoemYou don't think about writing a poemMore Like This
You just frantically scribble
Before the thoughts leave you
The perfect words to describe your stance
The perfect words to describe your beliefs
Not simply to state them
But to explain them
Nothing is simple

But I will find it anyway
Not the bottom

The ringing of the gong.
The knocking on the wall.
Renegade warrior was wrong.
Sorrow's chorus permeates the hall.
Death creeps unto children until,
Dread fills the innocent till,
Irony's curse takes its prey's will.
Fate's wheel turning resonates shrill.
At the end of the moment,
Dead lies dead, nevermore,
Eyes stay open forever more
Ferment, ferment and lament.
Hatred's corrupting hand clings,
Pain snips at heart's wings,
Vengeance's slow response stings.
Fate's tide on shores sings.
Ever by end-times come,
Weakling broken, now strong,
Bullet pierces, ranged long.
Parted soul, now forever roam.
No villains to pursue
No heroes remembered here
Fate does never move through
All victims to everlasting fear.
