Starbug model made from my template. The only thing I had to change was the back section - which for some reason was was slightly larger on one side, must have stretched when being imported into photoshop. Worked out ok in the end though. Blue Midget next...

This is my 4th Mass Effect 2 papercraft template, hardline Turian agent, Garrus Vakarian.

Built from 25th Sept-12th Oct though has been in the 3D editing stage since mid-summer. I'm glad he's done but it will probably be the last character for now. I've done most of the guys I like and will have much less time in 2012 if my career plans go anywhere.

Follow the download link below to get the resources you need to print and build your own version! The notes file and comments on PDO/PDF #1 contain additional information that you should read.

-------Read Before Downloading-------

It's a 37.4MB RAR file which contains PDFs and PDOs to print from or use as references. 27 pages, 278 pieces including his Mantis sniper rifle. Just one colour scheme, in his pre-scar state, much more photogenic before he got a missile to the face. Stands at a formidable ~48.5cm tall. Why yes he even has teeth.

You can open the RAR archive with software such as WinRAR, Alzip, 7Zip. Just search around! ;)

You can open the PDO files with Pepakura Viewer downloadable free here: [link]

Please do use this as it's immensely helpful as a resource and will show you exactly where parts go. Almost essential for a model of this complexity. It doesn't work on Macs unfortunately though.

Difficulty: 9.25/10 (Holy dooley! Make sure you know what you're doing :ohnoes:)

ok, a bit late ^^;
but here is my papercraft mask from the last dA Halloween challenge

the best way is to build this, is from the chin upwards
you can build it that way that the chin is moveable
i colored the tabs thatfor
i used that time some springs for the move system
but i guess you can do it better
i'm not that skilled at cosplay and sort :D

well it's not my best work and it got a few issues
so you have improvise a bit

i also prefere to build the neck twice and let it overlap, so you have no gap

you can see the mask in action here
Morbide by Destro2k

and to ruin the scene completly
this model is based on the original unreal tournament 2003 morbide model

The download file contains three pdo files
one white with folding lines
(by the way, the white looks also great ;) )
one with texture and folding lines
and one with texture but without folding lines

so you need as always the pepakura viewer
which you can download here

to download the model
click on the download button on the right side
you can thank dA for, that i can't write the direct link anymore

some word to the bloggers

you have the permission to use my photos
this model is a Deviantart only download
so do not upload this model somewhere else
and the most important thing

this model is free and should it be
so let it be!

and trust me, i search for my stuff ;)

Death has a name... and it's Gregg.

Finally! Gregg the Grim Reaper (from the game Conker's Bad Fur Day) is done!

I've had this guy finished for nearly a month now, just begging to be built. However, with the close of the semester, as well as finals, upon me, I hadn't had time to work on him at all until I came home a week ago. Now that I'm here though, he'd done! as well as numerous little corrections in the pieces, and instructions!

This is my third model in my Conker's BFD series, and may not be my last. At one point I had hoped to build a model of the Great Mighty Poo monster from the game, but thats been pushed to the back-burners by this, as well as my completed-yet-awaiting-a-build model, The Bebop.

Well, if you were able to build my model of Conker, you'll definitely be able to build Gregg. He's a cakewalk (for the most part) compared to Conker.
Have fun, and leave me some feedback!

Pepakura

This is the first build I made of Panty's Backlace panty gun.

Built in Maya, unfolded in Pepakura 2, colored in Photoshop, then printed on 110 lb paper and pasted together. *whew*

All in all the process took about a day (5 hours) to design and build. I have posted this online at my blog and on 4chan. Many people have built it, but this is the original!

Found this file right around the time the movie for Captain America came out. This isn't the exact shield from the movie, but it was good enough for me. There are several layers of bondo sitting on the shield to make it really durable. Eventually needs straps, and some paint.

Surely one of the stranger ideas that has popped into my head. Wasn't quite sure if it was "good enuff" but the design has grown on me (especially after I got the more subdued steel version).

Totodile are extremely social for reptile Pokemon, they are known to live together many months after they hatch, stealing food from trainers, wrapping litter around boat propellers, and aggravating larger more dangerous Pokemon and leading them to cross paths with the unfortunate victims of their "pranks." Their vibrant colors and equally vibrant personalities make Totodile a handful to train. However after separating from their siblings and claiming a territory of their own, the increase in food supply and competition encourages growth and this adolescent phase causes physical development into Croconaw. Croconaw are extremely solitary and competitive and coupled with their ravenous appetite, are a force to be reckoned. They constantly hunt and never turn down a meal and their powerful jaws are lined with teeth that are constantly replaced when they break or fall out. When they reach adulthood their scales on their limbs have thickened, their forelimbs have doubled in length, and they have tripled in size. All this adds up to a bulky fighting machine, the fully mature Feraligatr.

Feraligatr was fun, I loved doing the scale work and design wise I wanted it to look like the same anatomy as the original anime character like the original concept creator arvalis. Be sure to check his other realistic pokemon:

[link]

Cyndaquil and his evolution line are next and a special thanks to RTradke's original concepts of Seaking, Goldeen, Horsea, and Seadra and you can find more of Rtradke's work here:

Taken from the summer SacAnime, September 2nd-4th, 2011.

This would be ~Last-Chance-Child's boyfriend, cosplaying as an interpreted Cubone. Lol, he had to borrow stuff from me, like the pants and chains and accessories XD (glad I have that kind of stuff now)

He made the head himself though! It was HUGE, but cool. Pepakura or something like that (I have no idea how to spell it). My boyfriend, *Blackfirehawk made a 3-D model of a Cubone skull (he made a better one, but they couldn't make it work, so they used this lower-resolution one), then my Clone's boy here printed it out and folded it up and put some kinda stuff on it to keep the paper together. It's really cool, and well done for his first ever attempt at this stuff! He threw it out though when we were done 'cause it was falling apart.

If he does Cubone again, it'd be neat to see him have a more character-specific costume instead of interpretive...as well as try a more high-resolution mask so it's not as "blocky". ^_^

finally done
oh man, what a night :aww:
i wrote in the last journal entry that i had the feeling that i'm stuck on this
but after the entry it went into the opposite and the work goes on and on.

i doesn't took any other photos of the build because it would take more then i expected
at the end i had all parts assembled with the others
and i never cursed/sweared more then at this one :D

the only advice what i can give you is to build this very careful
start with the two front part, add this little pieces (on the same page) add the disc and curles/shells/screws/spiral flames ( :P ) and front legs
end with the tail and the last part should be the right rear leg
that's the way i build it.

again i must put some weight into one leg, beause of the tail and the sword, the model falls over.
so put something into the rear right leg before you close it.

fazit:
one of the hardest models that i had, but only because of the pieces.
there are brutal unnecessary complicated

however i'm happy that I decided to build it
it's really an awesome model
but never again :D

Yeah! at last, Rarity! Have fun!

finished Photo: [link]

Tips: i recommend using Superglue, specially for attaching finished hair pieces to head. whatch out your fingertips!

order:

1 cut all

2 prepare each piece (use this for help a little:[link] )

3 glue the double hair pieces and comb them before they are completely dried. this way they will not crack or get funny shapes.

4 finish rest of the body but do not glue legs yet.

5 now glue the hair pieces to the head you can also glue bits of the hair to the cheeks to help attain form. (you will see that in the finished photo)

6 when done, insert tail and then paste the legs...this way is easier to maintain a pose and equilibrium. (XD)

Done!

Click the above link for the tutorial I used to make the Millennium Puzzle.

Since so many people were asking :XD:
~*~END EDIT~*~

I felt like showing off my Millennium Puzzle, so sue me :XD:

I think between me and my dad we made a pretty nifty Millennium Item :D And it really helped overshadow all the things that went wrong with the rest of the cosplay ^^;

My sisters bought the wood and glue, which my dad cut and glued for me after I made out the measurments so I had the basic pyramid. After that it was simply making the corners, eye and raised front out of clay, getting a curtain ring and cutting off the end for the hoop, adding some string, spraying it gold and voila! Millennium Puzzle goodness :XD:

Need to find a home for it... it's sitting on my frame shelf right now ^-^

I made this a few days ago after reading Conan O'Brien's staff interested in artistic submissions from their fans.

Not only was this made, but they liked it so much they linked to it on both their facebook account and their tumblr account.

It goes without saying that it made me happy all week. ;)

For those that don't recognize it, this is the Needler, a Covenant weapon from the PC and Xbox series, Halo! There’s more info on the wiki page if you're really interested. Specifically, this is the Halo 1 model, but not too much changes about it throughout the series except the level of detail (and being dual-wieldable in Halo 2!) and overall size.

I've had this sitting in my incomplete folder for over a year and a half now, and with the lull I've had since finishing the Combat Shotgun, I decided to wade through that mess and see if there was anything worth salvaging. Honestly, this was more work than I was expecting it to be, I really made a mess with the geometry way back when, and putting a model together on this scale was a bit interesting at times. Eh, it was totally worth it.

I was a little torn on how to handle the needles on it. In the 1st person view, they look like a dark-purple-ish blue, but in the 3rd person, they’re a very bright pink, so I tried to find a middle ground… they came out a lot darker once I printed them though, so I guess I should have made them a good bit brighter. Oh well!

The final build came out to be ~2' 2" (~66 cm) long, ~8.5" (~22 cm) wide, and ~2' (~60 cm) tall. This actually is life-sized, honest! I took the dimensions from the halo wiki itself. Look at this picture of Capt. Keyes with one if you don't believe me, the thing is the size of his torso! Not to mention I'm only like 5'6" to begin with... As per usual, it's made entirely of plain copy paper, no cardstock included. If anyone tried building one, I would suggest cardstock for at least the inner handle if nothing else. Hmm, I think that’s it...

Oh god, I hope I’m not developing a gun fetish with all the models I’ve done lately...

("Second Last Airbender Sketches" found here: [link])

I don't normally like posting rough sketches but I thought this might interest some people. Self-explanatory, but I'll repost what's in the picture:

"These are the sketches I sent to Paramount when I was still waiting to be approved as the artist for the Avatar movie prequel manga. The studio asked me to send sketches of five Avatar characters of my choice. I used the TV designs because I hadn't received the live action film version designs yet. This was my first time ever drawing Avatar characters. I also had no knowledge of who or what the prequel would be about at the time."

Note that I didn't draw them in a group like this. In my sketchbook, on each page, I did a full body shot and head shot of each of the characters. I stitched the sketches together for better presentation here. So the composition isn't great...but it sorta works!

Since it was my first time drawing them, some of them look a little off. I had the hardest time with Katara. I don't know what it is about her, but I just can't get her right. I also don't like some of the poses/expressions but this was meant to be more to show off my style. I would like to do a proper group picture eventually (more proper than this one) but for now, I'm busy with the prequel.

I have since done sketches of the characters as their movie versions for Paramount (sans Toph, but including Iroh, Zhao and Yue), but I won't post those because many of the costumes/designs haven't been revealed to the public yet. I've heard they may get put in the back of the prequel book as an extra.

Okay, so now you see that the Zero Laser (which I called the Zero Beam becuase I forgot but it sounds better anyway) makes Samus' armor fall off. So Wario, who I've already established is a filthy pig, figures that if one Zero Beam knocks half her clothes off…*

Man, two fanarts of unreleased Wii games in a row. If that doesn't make me Nintendo's bitch, I don't know what does. (Except maybe the last 22 years of my life.)

*I'm glad people still find this funny now that most of the Internet knows that a second Smash Ball puts her suit back on.
