Thank you, Lanny
My sweet, beautiful, amazing co-CV Lannifer (Elandria) has retired. She was the CV for Stock when I joined the team (I replaced the smexy Dan-Heffer) and we've been terrorizing the community together ever since. We were joined by Cheryl (CelticStrm-Stock) what seems like just a second ago, but has apparently been about 2 years, and our little stock family got a bit more devious. Now we have a baby Erin (Cassy-Blue) and the team is evolving once more. It has been quite a ride and

Firstly, yep thats me back to being a senior member! *hugs her senior badge* I already miss my
hatheart, and its been a rather surreal 24 hours. That being said I owe the biggest smochiest hug and thank you to Moonbeam13 for being quite honestly the embodiment of wonder woman and a major major source of inspiration for her sheer determination, passion and ability to do so many things on so little sleep. The rest of you crazy volunteers past, present and future have the same qualities and passions, and its been one hell of an incredible ride with all of you
Additional smooches go to my nearest and dearest PirateLotus-Stock Aeirmid CelticStrm-Stock - you are beautiful, wicked, amazing and clever women and I love you to the depths of my heart. When I joined the volunteer team I never realized that I was also gaining an international fam

I'm a new moderator here and this is my very first entry.
As you probably know, this next month challenge is already late to start with; hence, the usual poll stage has to be skipped. Anyway, the theme of this month is Halloween and Autumn. Oh yes, how exciting!
I have chosen five images for you to use, it varies from simple to complicated scene. The main focus is on high-key (somewhat) and soft lighting for a change so you all will have to pay more attention to the subtlety. It'll be a good challenge!
Same rules as always. 2 hour time limit! No tracing! No color picking from the original ref! Figure out your own colors. Make sure you include credit and links where you got your stock photo in the DA description. Not only do most stock provider want to be informed if there pictures are used, but for study reasons referencing to the original source is better for getting crits.

So, for as long as I can remember I've had access to the most incredible range of books, from novels, tall tales and everything in between; all of those I've read (and I'm sure you all agree) it's most frequently their covers you immediately think of when you hear their titles. It goes without saying that a picture tells a thousands words, and cover art, for that specific reason has to grab the reader by the eyeballs and hold their attention right through to the very last page in a yummy, captivating smorgasbord of plot teasers, incredible characters and dreamy (or dystopian) landscapes. Essentially, book cover p0rn
Visiting bookshops used to be as much about the cover art as it was about the text on the pages, which is why these days seeing the dozens of dreary, completely plain covers which do absolutely NOTHING to sell the book leaves me a little cold. Further I just can't understand why publishers are going in this direction.
