In February I submitted this entry for :iconudoncrew:'s MEGA MAN TRIBUTE book, and it made it in! Now that the book is about to be released, I have permission to post the piece online.

I'm honored to be featured among so many fantastic artists. For my piece, I wanted to focus on a relatively unusual character: Tengu Man. The illustration depicts my own Tengu Man design in his stage from Mega Man 8, accompanied by a Tencrow and a trio of Metall SVs.

Here's how you can get your own copy:

MEGA MAN TRIBUTE LIMITED EDITION HARDCOVER

-The book is premiering at the San Diego Comic-con at the UDON booth (#5037), July 20-24

-For fans not attending the show, you can preorder the book at UDONstore.com ([link] )

MEGA MAN TRIBUTE SOFTCOVER

-The standard softcover edition is also available for preorder on amazon.com ([link] )

There are a lot of people uploading the full version of their Udon Megaman Tribute pieces, but I want to give a peek while keeping the full version a surprise just in case I'm fortunate enough to be chosen for inclusion.

I wanted to focus on a character that I thought wouldn't get much attention (also one from two of my favorite Megaman games).

No matter what happens full version coming soon enough :D

Macross Frontier is just too good to pass for fan art :)

So here you go, Macross Frontier goodness featruring Alto Saotome's VF-25F, peeking below at Ranka Lee.

Took me around 600 layers of vector shapes in CS3, plus a couple of gradients and effects for finishing touches. Production screenshot here: [link]

I uploaded a 1000x1600 version for a nice meaty vector buffet after the preview. Enjoy!

I only did two color pieces for the Macross book, more or less for fun and also as I expect Palladium will do a deluxe large edition where they usually do print color work if they have it. So this getting posted here first I think.

This was done pretty quickly using one of the basic Kawamori model sheets as a ref but still drawn by me by hand. I thought it would be kinda ace to see a Valkyrie breaking the sound barrier so that's what I did. Also seemed amusing to make it one of those inspiration "join the so-and-so" type posters ;) Though it's a Veritech here they'll always be Valkyries to me.

Four mech designs I improvised and have been slowly poking at over lunches and weekends. It was a lot of fun working on these! I'll have to start up a second set sometime soon. Let me know what you think, criticism welcome. Cheers!

Another cool Mecha that I kind of liked was the scarab looking "Invid Shock Trooper." You never got a really decent look at the pilots in the series so here is a closup with a little bit more detail. The Invid are encapsulated from their larval stage and just when they are ready to emerge from their chrysalis and finalize their metamorphosis into an mature adult they are placed inside the desired mecha where they are released into an internal nutrient reservoir and begin to organically interface with the machine that will become a part pf them. They will remain encased within for the remainder of this stage of their evolutionary cycle.

I finished this one almost an hour late because I couldn't settle on a composition with Mazinger and Aphrodite together. And since I found the booby missiles hilarious as a kid (and always wondered where the infinite supply of missiles came from) I decided I should just draw her for tonight, and do one of her and Mazinger, or Mazinger alone tomorrow or the next day.

I'm calling him Mazinger, but of course back in the 80's I knew him as Tranzor Z, because that's a much more American name than Mazinger. Oh, and I knew I was going to want to do my own take on Aphrodite Ace anyway, but I took more influence in this one from the Mazinkaiser OVA.

Wow... I haven't tried to tackle Voltron (one of my all-time child hood favorites), since I was in grade school. He was always a challenge to draw, and now I remember why I steered away from it. HAHAHA

One of the things that I wish Voltron could do was grapple more. I always felt it was unfair to the villains that once the sword was formed, then the show was pretty much over. HAHAHA

Here I thought it'd be cool to explore that the hands come out from the inside of the mouth, and then the top of the heads were for backslapping punks. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Wrapping it up, this is a rough mock up for a Voltron pin-up I hope to finish in time for the Voltron art of book coming out next year.

Here's some full body shots of the Voltron crew:

well this was my wallpaper for a bit before I got a pic of Briareos. for some reason I loooove pics of bots and humans [or human like beings] with good size defiance. don't know why but I do.

Guess it's that something that big could crush a puny lil' fleshy with a ease that it's not even funny. yet, as in this pic you can see that Lighting isn't, he's being very careful with his human partner, even in the middle of a battle! [you can see this in the show]

Hmmm...that and he looks reeeeaally cool ^_^;

well, I think you know I don't own Gad Guard.

Busy busy. At least I got this done a while ago. This, dear readers, is the fleet of the Armies of the Southern Cross. Let me clarify, these are a bunch of space ships and characters based on a show called Super Dimensional Cavalry: Southern Cross, later known as that the middle chapter in an 80's show called Robotech.

As usual, I say a few more words about this on the good ol' blog [link]

Let it be known this image is a riff of a well known promotional image of Macross.

This is my end of a holiday gift exchange with my good friend, Phil Moyer.

Normally, as he is also a photoshop aficionado, Phil likes to color other artists' line art himself, but as his end of the exchange was the complete DVD set of the saintly, perfect Galaxy Rangers animated series :worship:, I felt obliged to put in an extra effort.

I'm hoping you recognize the type of jet in the picture. (Heck with it, if you don't recognize the type of jet in the picture, you're just not worth talking to.) The character is actually Phil's OC,Aerianne Conner, who is both a bad ass fighter pilot, and a "Highlander" style immortal. (I'm thinking she's going to win that duel with the Kurgan, packin' this sort of heat. :D)

I'm probably doing all manner of injustice to the character in my description, best you visit Phil's site for more pertinent information. ^^;

Oh, the markings and roundels for the craft belong to the Terrapin Corps, an elite squad of intergalactic, heroic bad asses, of which Aerianne is a member in good standing. Did I mention that my friend is a graduate of the University of Maryland? ;p

I should probably mention, this wasn't the final version of the character as accepted by my friend. He wanted Aerianne's hair to be straighter, and her bangs to be shorter, so the final drawing differs slightly from what you see here. However, I liked this version so much I just felt it shouldn't go to waste. ;)

Hello:
This is my low-poly model of the fabled SDF-2 Megalord Super Dimension Fortress.

The ship was meant to be the second battlefortress to protect the Earth, but after the Zentradi's "Rain of Death" catastrophy, the remains of the UN forces decided to turn this ship into the Megaroad Colony/Emigrant ship, to ensure humanity's survival in other worlds.

This is the original design, it is bigger and more powerful than the SDFN Macross class ships. I wish some of them were produced in the canon of "Macross".

I have named it SDFN-II Megalord Class, in honour to the original design for the SDF-2.

Please click Download so you can see all details! and comments are always appreciated! :la: .

Hola:

Hello:
This is the Shimakaze class battlecruiser of the Robotech Expeditionary Force (REF) as seen in the movie "Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles" and the comic "Robotech: Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles".

The ship is a very fast cruiser armed with a strong turret in the upper hull, several missile lanchers, anti-fighter guns, a modest complement of Alpha and Beta fighters and, as a main weapon, a powerful long-range Synchro Cannon.

The cannon is capable of not only causing severe damage to capital ships and stations, but it is also designed to pierce through shields and firing at least three times in a row (as seen in the movie).

I hope you'll all like the image. Comments are always appreciated :) .

And don't forget to click "Download" to see more details! :la: .

Hola:

The VF-7X Sylphide Veritech in fighter mode.  As mentioned in the previous pictures, this Veritech was only ever animated in its fighter mode, and we don't know for sure that it even had a battloid mode.  Regardless, there's enough art in the series and art sources to suggest it was a potential transformer in the Southern Cross saga.  This led to fan art of how it might transform.  As I am also a fan, I'm coming up with my own version, based on the Sylphide, the Macross saga veritech and the New Generation Alpha veritech.  Now that I have made the important parts of the mecha, it's time to transform the veritech and see what's missing or what adjustments are needed in order to make it look right.  I already noticed a few areas that will need touch up and new parts.  Those include the shoulder joints, the tip of the nose, where the hips are, and the design of the upper parts of the legs.

Been out of town for a week and the whole time I just wanted to get home so I could do more of these reaper variants, so glad to be back!

My reaper Krogan units act much like the geth pyromancers in that they're heavily armored and meant to get in and blast the players out of hiding spots with a flamethrower.

Still the Vorcha to go then I think I'm finally done!

I thought it was weird that the Reapers bypassed the Yahg in the game since the other races had already considered them for uplifting so they must have been further along than the evolutionary process than humans were the last time the reapers came around. Seems like bypassing the yahg would have given them ample time to become a viable threat during the next cycle, maybe moreso than the protheans even, given the extreme intellect and strength displayed by the shadow broker. My reaper Yahg has his arms converted into thannix cannons, he'd probably be introduced as a means to combat the Krogan forces on Palaven.
