Portrait from the Sakizou photoshoot I did in Germany! Shot by Brian Boling! You can see the details well in this photo, as well as my attempt to do doll makeup.

Let me talk about how amazing Gothic Lolita Wigs is!!! They contacted me after seeing my progress on this costume and offered to send me a wig to complete the look. Their Ringlet Delux wig is so lush and beautiful, and really set the costume's regal look over the top! They even sent me their Dolly eyelashes, which I wear with this cosplay every time!
I can't recommend their professionalism and quality of products enough. I definitely will order from them again in the future, already have some wigs picked out!!

I keep meaning to write up the construction notes but I'm constantly rushing off to a con lol. Anime Weekend Atlanta is this weekend so yeah, I'll have to wait till next week to properly write up how I made this costume. But this photo shows off the details well.

Although I have already posted a number of Chun Li photos, I can't not share these beautiful images captured by LJinto! We found a wall that matched me haha!

Character: Art Nouveau Chun Li cosplay (designed by :iconrazvan-sedekiah:)
Costume made and modeled by me
Chun Li gallery is up on my website!!
Head over to my site to read the full construction notes on how I made this costume and check out my favorite photos of Chun Li.

Costume thoughts: I absolutely loved the design by :iconrazvan-sedekiah: and thought it was a great stylish translation of an Iconic character. I created the full costume, using luxurious fabrics such as dupioni silk and silk taffeta. All the trims and swirls are embroidered on, free hand. I had a lot of fun making the charms, hair buns and spike wristlets. I read the spikes in the design artwork as ivory or marble instead of metal, and in keeping with the turn of the century art nouveau style, my spikes are an opalescent ivory color. Some people remarked that it looks like I'm not wearing underwear - well, I am wearing 3 pairs of tights so I am decent lol. Again, it's to follow the art design accurately.
I also cut up a pair of white pleather boots and embroidered the gold swirls on that. The charms and the boots might be my favorite part on this costume!

Character: Psylocke - Marvel's X-Men
Costume made/modeled by Yaya
Photography by Chris Gomez
Photo location: New Orleans

This is a brand new Psylocke costume! I cosplayed Psylocke back in '06 but wanted to make a new version, more grounded in Reality. I drafted my own patterns for the bodysuit, arms/legs, boot covers etc, and sewed everything in a day utilizing two contrasting fabrics, heavy duty spandex & stretch pleather. The only piece I re-used from the old Psylocke costume is the sash.

We also wanted to approach the photo with a more realistic flair, which is why I just used my own hair up in a top knot. The background was a large carpet which Loretta and Brian held up for us while I sat on it. Chris found a Katana for us as well!

This is one of my favorite photos by Brian.

The costume is Myoubi from the manga series "Alichino", and I made this back in 2002!
Myoubi wears way too many gorgeous outfits to choose a favorite from, so I decided to take elements from various designs and combine them into one single costume. Inspired by the melancholy premise of the story, I made a burgundy/gold gothic Lolita doll dress and bird wings. Most of the costume required working without a pattern, and I learned a lot about gathering ruffles, making feather wings, and working with different textures. The main dress is made of an incredible two-sided French Shantung, for the complimenting parts I used Casa Lace and Crepe back gold Satin. My favorite element would have to be the lace-up sleeves.

I made this costume in March 2008 - as a long term CLAMP fan, I suppose it was only a matter of time before I cosplayed Yuuko XD. I loved this design specifically for the butterflies.

Construction:
I got a heavy black poly/wool blend for the kimono, and a beautiful burgundy silk for the lining and ruffles. After sewing the outer layer but before putting in the lining, I appliquéd about 14 or 15 butterfly shapes onto it. The pattern for the butterflies was just free drafted - I cut them out of a yellow fabric and after spending a few hours stitching down the edges neatly, I got to paint the details onto the appliqués for the next night and part of the morning lol. I remember watching a whole season of CSI while painting the butterflies, and it became quite the surreal experience. O_O
As the butterflies dried, I made many yards of ruffles and also did my own gold trim for the costume. Stitched it all together with the lining and a big part of the costume was done. I love the fabrics I scored because they are almost wrinkle free, no matter how much I shove the costume into a suitcase.
The waist cincher is made of a burgundy pleather and I plan on remaking it soon. The material was bought in a rush and is not very sturdy. The cincher has a fake lace up front.
Lastly I worked on the wig, which took some engineering. The main problem was balancing the weight of the extension loops on my head, but in the end it worked out great and I can bend over and sway my head without things shifting. The bat crown and hairpieces are made of styrene plastic that's been heat formed.

I have had this Peacock costume idea for a long time before I saved enough money to buy the feathers and materials to make it in the summer of 2007.

I kept my eye out for any fabrics that could work with this theme and ended up going on a hunt in the LA fabric district for a two-toned taffeta. what I found was gorgeous, green on one side and purple on the other. In various light the fabric changed in the shades of green, cyan, blue and purple, matching the color scheme of a peacock eye feather perfectly.
I took some time sketching out silhouettes and where I wanted to used the feathers as embellishments. I ended up deciding sewing a custom patterned corset, a cropped jacket with wide sleeves and upstanding collar, and a fitted mermaid skirt that flared out at the knee. The skirt has a peacock tail attached to it in the back, in the folded up resting position. I went to a Nature Center to chase and photograph real life peacocks to gain the proper reference for how the feathers lay on the birds.
I used multiple kinds of peacock feathers for this costume - several hundreds of peacock tail feathers with eyes for my tail and throughout the outfit; a number of tail swords for the beaded belt and jacket collar; and multiple yards worth of thickly overlayed peacock herl for the fanned collar of my jacket and sleeves. Each eye feather was fitted with a green Swarowski crystal before attached as embellishments to the costume itself. I debated for a while what head-accessory to create, from a retro hat to crown to feather fan, and ended up sewing a tiny hat from a made-up pattern and adding feathers to it. My wig was an old wig that I restyled and curled... I hope to do something better in the future.

Shot by Stuart Townsley, this costume is based on a piece of artwork by fantasy artist Nene Thomas [link]

Nene asked me to model for "Gothic Princess", and after I saw the beautiful costume she painted, I had to make it.

This is one of my favorite photos of the outfit, and I am submitting it as Artisan Craft>Accessories because it showcases all the detail work and pieces I created, such as the necklace, beaded lace wrist cuffs, hair piece and tattered wings.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Season's Greetings, and Happy Holidays!

I'm so glad there was time this year to do a Christmas themed photoshoot! Thank you so much to Pixelette Photography for the adorable image!

Christmas Urd from Ah! My Goddess cosplayed by Yaya Han - I had to look everywhere for this old busted up costume!! Found it in my Storage unit! LOL Still fit and was kinda cute, I was shocked!

Santa Kitty Sonico from Super Sonico cosplayed by Jessica Nigri Fan Page - Jess designed the costume, which is soooo kawaii with the kitty hood and tiny caplet. We made it together in 24 hours! She got the premium grade velvet, which looks ridiculously gorgeous, but was a bitch to sew haha. We did a 1.5 circle skirt for extra fullness, and a boned bodice. Also, girl knows how to make gloves, fast!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

I created this costume based on the collectible figure of Super Sonico! I absolutely loved the blue/pink color combination, and the design of the uniform dress. Just look at it, so kawaii!
The dress, belt and nurse hat are made from scratch, by me! I used a synthetic for the dress, and a cotton for the lining, as well as contrasting white pleather for all the trimming. The headphones were a lucky find on eBay, and my wig was sponsored by Purple Plum Inc.This also marks the first time I went shopping for lingerie items (garter belt and thigh highs) on Amazon O_o - very prompt shipping lol!

I recently got to do a photoshoot as Sonico with the incredibly talented Allison of Pixelette Photography! This is the first release image from the shoot! It is also available as a signed 8x12 glossy photo print!

I'm so happy that I got to work with some of my closest friends on this ridiculously rainbow explosion colorful costume!!! We shot this photo inside the convention center for Montreal Comiccon this weekend and this hallway was perfect! That colored glass!

I definitely had way too much fun making this costume, from styling the wigs and building the hat and finally using the fuchsia glitter pleather I have wanted to for years!

Some costume construction anecdote:
Vest cincher - patterned and made by me, steel boned, with this awesome fuchsia glitter pleather!
Orange vest - patterned & made by me, with a foam layer inbetween for that quilted Marty McFly look!
Hat - patterned & made by me, foam & Worbla base with fabric cover.
Headphones - sculpted by me, molded & cast by Brian Boling (thank you!!!), painted by me!
Skirt - patterned & made by me, checkers graphic made by me and sent to www.fabricondemand.comand printed on poplin. Fully lined.

Character: Misato's Plugsuit Dress (based on this collectible figure designed by Shunya Yamashita: [link]
Costume entirely made/modeled by Yaya Han
Photographed by Paul Tien

I remember watching Evangelion as a kid when the first release of good fansubs hit, many years ago. Of course it had a huge impact on me as an anime fan, and artist. Over the years I have always wanted to make a plugsuit from EVA but my favorite character was Misato, who's outfits were simplistic and casual.
FINALLY, someone designs a plugsuit-ish outfit for Misato, and it is very fan service and revealing. But it's probably the closest I'll ever get to see Misato in a plugsuit, and I decided to make the outfit. From the get-go, I wanted to make modesty alterations to the outfit, so my dress is longer and there are no floating boob cups, just flattering princess seams.
I used 4-way stretch PVC to make a base dress with front and side seams, then cut it up to create all the interesting top-stitched seams on the design, while interjecting navy blue faux leather panels. I patterned everything myself, which meant a lot of mock-ups in cheap left over spandex and drawing lines on them. I also patterned and made the thigh highs and arm sleeve things, as well as the hip rolls and all the accessories. I even made my gloves. To achieve the shapes needed, I used everything from EVA foam in various thicknesses, worbla, floral foam, and squishy tube foam. Everything was covered in PVC for that unified sleek plugsuit look. I also cast aluminum powdered buttons and round side pieces. Work in progress collage: [link]

I love my fun futuristic booties, which were a lucky find online.

My wig was sponsored by AnimeStuffStore.com - [link]
I cut about a foot off, and styled the bangs ala Misato.

Another picture of my Yuna. I love her so much! I was very hesitant to cosplay as her because I don't look much like her, but it the end I'm very happy with the result :)

The skirt is all hand-embroidery and the obi is hand-painted (pain in the ass, seriously). I made the earring and the necklace out of light sculpey (that stuff is really great! I recommend it). The sleeves are hand dyed but the gradient doesn't show a lot in the picture, but they are :P Also, :iconcelticsakura: styled the wig! I'm very happy she did that because her wig is awesome, it looks like my real hair. Fullmetal_Sam made the obi flower out of leather for me I'm very grateful to them!

Bow made by Kamui Cosplay www.facebook.com/KamuiCos

Debuted at Animecon Netherlands (June 2014)

Inspiration:
I'm so excited to share the first photo of Heartseeker Ashe!! It's the newest costume I made and I'm so happy with it!
I based this costume off the splash art of this skin noobabble.files.wordpress.com/… - it is a beautiful illustration and I loved the colors and theme of it. The in-game skin looks a bit different, so I chose to stick closer to the splash art!

Construction:
I approach each costume as a translation of the design into a wearable garment, and often choose artistic interpretation over 100% accuracy. My goal for each costume is to get the feel and essence of the character across, and I aim to pay homage to the character, while injecting my own style and aesthetics into each costume.
So for Heartseeker Ashe, I used a variety of fabrics and mixed them together. I also tapered the jacket to be wider at the bottom and made a double circle skirt instead of the mini skirt in the game rendering. I thought the wider bottom would balance out the puffy sleeves and big hair and give me a more feminine silhouette.
I started collecting materials for this costume as soon as possible, and chose luxurious fabrics such as red silk, a lavender swirl patterned satin, a maroon brocade, and a matte metallic plum colored pvc. I made a red silk bodice and then tailored the jacket over it. The jacket is fully lined and custom patterned. The cape drapes almost like a flag in the game, so I made it t be stiff and heavy. The thigh high boot covers, garters, gloves, choker and shoe hearts rounded out the outfit.
All of the gold trimming on the costume is hand patterned and cut gold neoprene, sewn on. I discovered this technique by accident and was so thrilled with how easy it was to work with, and how sleek it looks. Definitely recommend others to try making trim with metallic neoprene!
I also made the heart shaped hair piece out of Worbla! The wig started off as a Matilda from Arda - I gradient dyed it from white to light blue, as a bridge between the splash art and the game render, and styled big barrel curls into it.

You can see some progress of the costume here:

BOW - I want to thank my dear friend Kamui Cosplay (www.facebook.com/KamuiCos) for making the stunning bow for me. This costume really came to be because we were chatting about potential future cosplays, and I asked her for advice on how to make the bow. Kamui replied that she needs to make a variety of props for documentation for her new Prop Making book, including a bow, so she suggested for us to collaborate together on this project.
You can read all about how Kamui made the bow in her new book here: kamuicosplay.storenvy.com/coll…

Conclusion:
I have always wanted to make a Valentine's themed costume, and now I have!  It's such a chic outfit and I love wearing it. I'll bring it to Anime Expo next, for Saturday. I'll be hanging out at my booth 920/922 as Ashe, so come by and say hello!

Character: C.C. - Code Geass (Artbook dress)
Costume made/modeled by Yaya
Photography by Brian Boling www.flickr.com/photos/brianbol…

New photoshoot of C.C. at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco!! I really wanted to take a pretty cupcake costume to this amazing location and I'm so happy Brian was willing to shoot it!

This costume was made entirely by me. I used about 14 yards of dark red heavy weight satin, not to mention all the yards of organza for the interlay, and tulle for the petticoat.
I made the templates for the butterflies and trim by cutting up the actual CLAMP artwork and sizing it up on the computer to myself. My friends Jessica and Megan helped me trace out the templates to make patterns, and together we transferred all the patterns onto fabric which I already cut and sewed into the skirts. Then I cut out all the trim and butterflies with a soldering tool, which took many days of breathing fumes and sore/burnt fingers. I also made the bodice, sleeves, hair pieces, choker, shoulder straps, petticoat... everything to complete this costume.

Love this pair of photos Leonard grabbed at Dragoncon. The lighting fits the character well.
Jessica Rabbit - Who framed Roger Rabbit
Costume made & modeled by me

Jessica Rabbit has always been one of the most mesmerizing cartoon characters to me - as a kid she made me watch the movie over and over again, and as a cosplayer, she was always a huge challenge for me to portrait. I've been collecting materials for her for almost 2 years, and wanted to make this costume to the best to my abilities.

The shape is not photoshopped, just clever cosplay engineering.
I drafted & made a custom corset to create the extreme shape and then made the dress to fit over it. I engineered 2 Victoria's Secret Miraculous bras into the corset, which is steel boned coutil. The extreme illusion is created by pulling in the waist, padding the top and wearing a booty bump hahaha.
The dress itself is made from a spandex sequin fabric, and 1000+ S20 Swarovski crystals are glued on the fabric for
extra bling, tedious time consuming handywork with help from Mary Cahela. I specifically chose pink instead of red for the dress because in the movie her famous singing scene features a pink dress. I also like the color combo: orange hair/pink dress/purple gloves more than the red dress which can sometimes come across as "lady of the night" in certain lighting. Pink makes the entire outfit look more cartoon-y!
Here is a reference image of Jessica in the pink dress.
Here is a youtube video of Jessica in the pink dress doing her famous stage performance from the movie.
Here is a work in progress collage of my Jessica Rabbit dress.

I adore my wig which is a Matilda from Arda Wigs! Styled with help from Ara Fernando!

I also went with the route of cartoon makeup, covering up my eyebrows and painting over them. It was a risky choice for makeup, and since Dragoncon I got my share of comments about going drag lol, but when I decided to portray such an iconic character as Jessica Rabbit, I didn't want to fall short of the makeup when everything else was so exaggerated.

A place of great mystery, guarded for centuries by ancient magic. To the Hylians it was forbidden and dangerous, where one could enter but never return. Only one Hylian was ever permitted to pass safely beneath its branches.

The Zelda Project is a Los Angeles, CA based group of friends who seek to bring to life the characters, settings, and overall feel of Ocarina of Time through photography and film. Our ultimate goal is to create the characters as they would appear in reality to the best of our abilities, placing them in beautiful sceneries true to their Hyrulean counterparts, and creating elaborate photosets, as well as a film short (coming once the cosplay segment of the project is completed!).

We included with the shield some distressing, since he is able to use it as a kid, but we will embellish it further as time goes on! The tunic is made with rayon spandex jersey knit, and the underclothes are a combination of 100% linen and spandex ITY. I will be posting a more in depth "how it was made" on the website once all of the photos have been posted!

I am sort of enamored with the mystery of the Lost Woods. Since I played Link to the Past I have always had a special place in my heart for it. One of my favorite parts of the Ocarina of Time trading game was the part with the Mushroom, and Cucco Lady (Anju's) brother.

Anybody who comes into the forest will be lost.
Everybody will become a Stalfos.

So much can be imagined by this idea, and the idea behind the Lost Woods!

This cosplay photo was a huge combined group effort that was a labor of love by friends and fans of the Legend of Zelda series. Combining all aspects of art from photography to visual effects, we wanted to bring the Legend of Zelda to life as best we could in a final presentation. So far this has been incredibly rewarding, and we hope that those of you who view our work are brought a little bit more into the world of Hyrule through our art.

A special thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far! Without all of your support and kindness we wouldn't have been able to make this happen. We only hope that with what we produce, a smile is put on your face!

This is the other costume I killed myself on for Katsucon 2013. I bought a 15 yard roll of this heavyweight dark red satin months ago and was just wanting for enough time to make this costume. Katsu was a perfect excuse to make a cupcake dress because I wanted something pretty to host the World Cosplay Summit in!

I'll wear it again at Emerald City Comic Con next weekend! Yay!

I got another amazing photograph of Fiora back!! Mega Epic-ness! The statue in the background is called The Awakening.

You guys must check out Elysiam Entertainment's page for more Katsucon images! [link]

For my first armor project, I guess it could have gone worse lol. This was DEFINITELY a trial run, lots of things to tweak and fix and improve upon. Also, ouch, wearing armor hurts. But it didn't fall off or apart, and the paint held up really well, too. Material used is Worbla Thermoplastic, which you can purchase at my online store at: [link]

Gun borrowed from :iconbeautifullytwisted:

This is a closet cosplay in the truest sense of the word. But I had to pay respect to one of anime's original cat burglars/grifters! You know how much I love those....

Also. Gold bars are hard to hold onto when you're wearing slippery latex.

I LOVE THIS COSTUME. It's so comfortable! XD I wanted to take a moment to talk about everything that went into this costume. :3 First the wig is my first time doing a lacefront from scratch. 30 hours later, I had a much more natural looking hairline than what the wig had started with. The dress is 100% Japanese sandwashed rayon (re: THE BEST FABRIC IN EXISTENCE LOL). It's so soft and drapes beautifully. X3 I had to strip the color of this fabric, and redye it, but it was so so so worth it in the end. All the trouble I went through for this dress was worth it. XD;

When deciding on the method of making the trim, I was a bit baffled. I know, lolsimplecostume, but I really wanted the method to reflect Marin's background and personality. I felt that she wouldn't wear anything with applique or fancy embroidery, nor would simply painting the designs on suffice. So I ended up coming up with my own method of resist dyeing with diluted textile paints. All in all, I really like how it came out, and I feel it really suits Marin. The shoes are 100% leather, save for the sole which I stole from some flipflops, and the flower in my hair I purchased from a bouquet company online, cut it from its stem, and stuck a pin on it lol. The pendant stone is cast from epoxy resin (mold and model made from scratch by me), and the stone setting is made from pluffy (ultra lightweight polymer clay).

I had started building her harp, but it's still in progress. My plan is to make it fully functional (I actually play the harp, but since I moved to Milwaukee, I no longer have access to one to practice on, so I figure making this a real harp will help me recover any technique I've lost). It's going to have 22 strings, slanted to follow the shape of a real harp's sound curve. I just have to wait until I have enough money before I can purchase real harp strings and pins. So excited though. I'm just scared to death to work on it sometimes. XD;;;

Lol every costume is a new adventure. XD

( *edit* but i guess i should add this part^^;
The costume was made by me, and it took me 6 months to make because I made my own chainmail shirt ^_^
I finished the Costume in August of 2004. So its a pretty old outfit already. but its still good. :)
Its also been featured in Nintendo Power. as well as my other Link and nintendo costumes. ^^ )

I was Advertizing Twilight Princess at the Nintendo Booth at E3 as Link and Zelda. I was not just cosplayers who decided to show up at the event and cosplay, I got permission from both Nintendo and the board of E3 before the event began, and there were rules I had to follow. The Nintendo staff treated us with so much respect. and ofcourse the Wii was awesome. hehe

I met Shigeru three times during the event. The first time I were called over, and his translator introduced me to him, and the other two times he came over to me. We spent a lot of time chatting, and taking photos. He signed my shield, hat, and tunic. And he took his picture.
This pic was taken in the "Invitation Only" section at the Nintendo booth. its pretty much impossible to meet him outside of that area.
I was able to go back there when we needed to take a break, and get some snacks, food, drinks, or ice cream. hehe.
Iwata was also back there. NOA, NOE, and nintendo of japan were also there, and they all loved the costumes.
He was very happy when he saw me in the costume, and the word spread quickly around nintendo.

Shigeru and I are the exact same height. (except my neck is bent abit forward in this pic) And I find it funny that we posed the exact same way. Miyamoto also Based a lot about Link off himself. :)

Advertising Twilight Princess went so well that even PS3 booth attendies started coming over to the nintendo booth, the Nintendo booth was crowded!

I cant wait for next years E3. Something big is happening in 2007!

***
Note ***
E3 Is a TRADE SHOW event only** No cosplay. Got permission from Nintendo and E3 to wear the costume at the Nintendo Booth to advertise Twilight Princess. ***

Please dont cosplay at e3 unless your allowed. Its not a cosplay event.***

Okay, I ran out of ideas for the title, so it's hardly Zelda related at all. It's actually the name of one of my favorite Plastic Tree songs. XD; When in doubt, use song titles, right? lol. It means 'Painful Blue', and I thought it described how horrifyingly blue my eyes look in this shot pretty well lololol.

P.S. Yes, I'm wearing contacts.

I was going to be done uploading TP Zelda pics lol but then LJinto uploaded this pic, and it's awesome, so I thought what the hell. :P

This is probably one of my most favorite cosplay photos ever; my sister as one of the most awesome Rikkus and myself as Lulu.
This photo was taken in September 2006

I know the picture is quite big, but when I resized it before I thought that it loses too much detail, so I decided to upload it in the original size. And yet it is still more blurry than the original, which is crystal clear in photoshop...

This is one of my older costumes that I could definitely improve upon now if I made it, but a lot of great memories came with it and I still love FF 10 and Lulu so much!

Construction wise, I would like to note that I took the liberty to add a personal touch to the original design. While making something accurately down to the last detail can be fun, it leaves little to no room for your own creativity. You will find details on my costume that give the design a little more depth and character. I used an awesome soft upholstery leather for the skirt and sleeves, and chose fabrics for the corset that would create texture together. The skirt and belts were the most difficult parts to work on, but the jewelry and hair accessories took me the longest to make. I did a lot of beading for this costume, and also hand-painted the lace and sewed them individually on, creating a pattern inspired by the original design.

This Costume is strictly based on the Moulin Rouge Disney Princess illustrations by artist MADHANZ madhanz.tumblr.com/post/414681…

I fell in love with the haute couture-style fashionable design of Snow White and had to make this costume. The design is so cute and chic, evoking the Moulin Rouge era without disrespecting the original Disney character in any way. I was so impressed with MADHANZ's aesthetics and color choices.
The entire outfit is
made from scratch by me. I utilized a variety of fabrics such as silk, satin and taffeta, and embellishments such as lace, pearls and crystals to translate the design into a luxurious outfit. The little top hat was made with Worbla, then covered in Dupioni silk and Swarovski crystals.

Madame Hydra commands you to HAIL HYDRA or else!!

Shot in Dubai during Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC)
Photography by Brian Boling (www.flickr.com/brianboling)

Costume designed and made by Yaya Han
Wig by Arda Wigs

I wanted to make a Madame Hydra costume that was my own design, but still paid tribute to her authentic design in the comic books. I came up with the idea of using 3 different materials to pattern out a 3 piece bodysuit, and contrasting the green with black police grade gun holsters and belts. I cut and straightened the lace front wig and got to reuse the 12-ply bullwhip from my Catwoman costume.

Also love playing with makeup on this costume!

Waaaah I'm so excited to share new Fiora photos with you guys! I recently had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful country of Romania, as a Guest of East European Comic Con, and during my stay there, our hosts Shjinu and Gabi took us on a castle visit for an epic cosplay photoshoot!
The weather was perfect, the setting was divine, and I'm just so grateful for the chance to dress up as my favorite LoL Champion on a real Medieval castle ground.

Costume: Fiora - Nightraven skin - League of Legends

Made/modeled by Yaya Han
Photographed by Benni & Kamui of Kamui Cosplay www.facebook.com/KamuiCos

Couple of facts about this costume:

This is my full armor set & sword for Fiora - League of Legends. Made out of Worbla (sword made out of wood, hilt made of Worbla). This took over 4 weeks of learning a new technique and using a new material -it was a good and agonizing experience lol

- I made it myself, which was a bitch. But I loved the process too! The material for the armor is Worbla, a Thermoplastic from Europe. The paint used is acrylics brush on over a spray painted base color.
Worbla is available for purchase in the Americas here!

- In the Nightraven skin, Fiora actually does not have the red streak in her hair. Yes, I am wearing red contacts.

- No, I'm not tall enough to be an accurate Fiora. But I chose this costume for the grace and dignity of the character mixed with the dark cool armor design. My motto is that anyone can cosplay whoever they want. This is a hobbyist community :)

- I thought about distressing this armor but Fiora is actually very prim and proper as a Duelist! She would not allow her armor to be dirty and dinged up :)

- Although I have worn this costume already, it's still not entirely finished. There are some things I want to add to the bodysuit underneath.

I learned how to use Worbla through Kamui Cosplay. Her video tutorials are here: www.youtube.com/user/Mogrymill…

Bow made by Kamui Cosplay www.facebook.com/KamuiCos
Photography by N8e www.facebook.com/N8e.cosplay.p…

Heartseeker Ashe cosplay in progress by yayacosplay

BOW - I want to thank my dear friend Kamui Cosplay (www.facebook.com/KamuiCos) for making the stunning bow for me. This costume really came to be because we were chatting about potential future cosplays, and I asked her for advice on how to make the bow. Kamui replied that she needs to make a variety of props for documentation for her new Prop Making book, including a bow, so she suggested for us to collaborate together on this project.
You can read all about how Kamui made the bow in her new book here: kamuicosplay.storenvy.com/coll…
A digital version of the book can be downloaded here: kamuicosplay.storenvy.com/coll…

Conclusion:
I have always wanted to make a Valentine's themed costume, and now I have!  It's such a chic outfit and I love wearing it. I'll bring it to Anime Expo next, for Saturday. I'll be hanging out at my booth 920/922 as Ashe, so come by and say hello!

More photos coming soon!!
