This was probably one of my quickest drawings I've ever done. The original was in a notebook, which was completely redone digitally. The energy blast was probably the most challenging to do, but I'm satisfied with what I've done.
and... Don't bother asking why an MMZ reploid is fighting the MMX version of X. If anything, I simply chose to draw that drone because it was the easiest enemy to draw that X could fight.
Chimpo McCrazypants posted a link on my forum [link] to a new mega man remake Capcom is working on that had the coolest concept art I've EVER seen for Mega Man. I had to draw the new cute chibi Mega Man and this is what came from it. Possibly the best line inking I've ever done but I'm only so so on the coloring and background. Oh well. I really really needed something simple to work on to get back into DA since I've been gone for so long and this was perfect. It's good to be updating DA again.
I've recently gotten rather addicted to the Mega Man Zero games for GBA. I just bought Mega Man Zero 1,2 and 3 comes out in a few weeks. I've always loved Mega Man to death and the GBA games are absolutely awesome. I meant to make this into a personal poster for myself but I couldn't come up with a decent background... yet. So I made a Wallpaper out of it instead.
's (and sorta my) InkMan! For his MegaMan: New Tomorrow fan game.
--- His original InkMan design was a small weird little thing, and just for fun I gave it a redesign that I thought would look good, and after some time he wanted to make it the official one! I'm flattered! Which is why I challenged myself to finish this in less than a day.
So his design is based off his original ([link]) that I "stretched." Now he looks like some old grizzled sailor, and still kinda French (which I thought the old design looked like as well.) And since he's supposed to be old, I made him short.
Overall I really like this design, and I would've used him myself if Stardius didn't.
As some of you might already know, I'm co-editing a Super Nintendo anthology. This is the 1st page of a 3-page comic I'm doing about Mega Man X for it.
This one is a bit more personal for me, because I pulled from my own experiences playing the game back in 1994. See back it my day, we didn't have this fancy internet stuff to help us out as much as we do now. I spent days trying to beat just ONE boss (ANY boss), because I had to play by trail-and-error. This is the way it should be done, and I think I'm a better gamer for it, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating
My submission for the Mega Man Tribute book by UDON. The book will be available at the UDON booth at San Diego Comic Con, july 20-24th.
The hardback is also available for preorder at UDONstore.com [link]
Alternatively you can pick up the softcover at Amazon.com [link]
About my pic, it's nothing too fancy (especially compared to many other pieces in the book), I wanted to keep it simple as I'm not that familiar with the Mega Man universe. I grew up a PC gamer, secretly envying my Mario, Sonic and Mega Man playing friends, while claiming Commander Keen was the greatest platform hero of ALL time. However, I had a great time drawing these characters.
Yep, I got the feeling to do another Mega Man image, so this time it's flippin Tornado Man. Luckily I had an image of him stored in my Mac, so I took it out and drew him in Photoshop. I think my main problem was the feet and legs, but hey, I'm still in the process of improving, so I might as well show you what I've done. Enjoy.
Yes, thats right, I got a cintiq off of ebay. New and expensive -- I had to break my piggy bank and search the house for pennies, but I got one.
So this was done a while ago. I thought I had more work to do to finish it, but only took me a few minutes. My girlfriend worked her photoshop skills on the background. This is a print for Connecticon in July and whenever else. Let me know if any of you are in the area and planning on going to that con.
