Yugi watched with interest as his first-year Hufflepuff-Slytherin students shuffled into the class, cautiously intrigued. This particular group had taken some consideration to arrange, since Hufflepuffs and Slytherins rarely shared a class, but the foreign teacher was curious to see where their differences would take them. Pairing the 5th year Slytherins and Gryffindors had been almost a given, since the influence of Malfoy and Potter resonated through the students of that year, whether they were conscious of it or not. To have a truly meaningful debate, at least two sides were necessary to the argument. Otherwise it would be mere indoctrination and not an intelligent discussion at all.
Whether a negotiated viewpoint was possible had yet to be seen, still so early in the year, but damned if Yugi didn't try.
With first years, however, it was a slightly different matter. House stereotypes had little personal experience to validate them, circulating
HoM class"In this class, we'll be looking at magic throughout the ages," Yugi stated calmly. "My personal interest, since I've been aware enough to notice, is this: Why has magic developed differently in some places than others? How are these methods of use similar? How do these methods differ? Presumably, all magic comes from the same source, correct?" The professor, who had been pacing along the stage, suddenly stopped. Author's notes: Once again, you're more than welcome to expand the chapter into your own fic. And I'm not an avid Stargate fan, so there're probably mistakes... I currently watch two to three Stargate episodes whenever I go home on Saturdays, and those are all from different seasons. I usually get one geek-Daniel episode followed immediately by one Jonas-trying-to-fit-in episode, so my sense of SG timeline is practically non-existent. Not to mention this chapter was somewhat rushed.
Hush the Silent has claimed the Duo plot bunny... I don't if anyone else wanted it. I'll keep you posted if I know about any fics going up.
Warning: Language and some possibly unpleasant situations. If the last chapter was G, this one's PG at least.

"You don't have to go."
Dr. Daniel Jackson sighed, again, for what seemed the millionth time. Dropping a shirt into his suitcase, he turned to face the speaker
