Robert Evans (PSAS), a longtime member of the deviantART community, has succeeded in making a radical artistic statement about turning artists' visions into actual realities.
Robert's pathway to actualization of his vision was facilitated by forward-thinking executives at Lexus who reached out to the creative cutting edge, to deviantART artists, for new revolutionary design ideas for the production of their 2014 Lexus IS. The Lexus IS Design Contest was born and dA's Robert Evans has come away with the prize: experiencing having his personal artistic conceptualization of how an automobile should look and roll become a real world reality. As Grand Prize Winner, the new Lexus built to Robert's design was debuted at the SEMA auto show in Las Vegas before 60,000 US and international buyers and then featured at the Los Angeles Auto Show before 12,000 industry decision-makers and 4,000 media correspondents from 50 countries.

I recently spent some time (okay maybe hours!) exploring a photographic exhibition on the Isle of Wight - England. I had known that the exhibition existed for some years, but had never really ventured over there. It was held in the home and studio of a celebrated Victorian Photography - Julia Margaret Cameron. However it did include a nice variety of works - photographs from Dorothy Bohm who put together the book A world observed and a collection of shots taken at the famed 1970s Isle of Wight Pop Festival. It included images of Jimi Hendrix who performed at the festival just three weeks before his death. The images collated and exhibited were fascinating. But what really struck me was how far we had come in terms of camera equipment.
This was donated to the Margaret Cameron Trust by Graham Ovenden and was subsequent

The internet has provided Urban explorers with many opportunities to garner news of new locations, the best places to go to 'urban explore' and what to avoid. Additionally social media means that we can share places that others will never see, and never hoped to see until the introduction of the internet and the ease with which we can communicate. So as this series goes on, we're going to look at some of the top Urban Exploration websites, at the current time, online. I've put together an article due for release next week about how you can create your own Photography studio without going to too much expense or trouble. I'm all for making the most out of tricky or limited situations to try and make something professional...butt hen I stumbled across this article and thought it was a completely genius idea - and just goes to show that your studio can literally be anywhere. As well as a great move for a photographer it puts an abandoned building, formerly considered an 'eye sore' to great use. The mental images (until you actually realise it's been reno
Photography Discussion: Photo-journalism rules?Last month we discussed when it was appropriate to stop taking photos - the general thoughts were mixed. A lot of you thought that photography at concerts, even if the concert organisers banned it, was completely reasonable. Others suggested that rules were made to be kept. All in all, an interesting response. Moving on with the discussion, this month we're looking at the boundaries with Photo-journalism and whether there actually are any in your eyes?Photography Discussion: Photo-journalism rules? in Art Features More Like This
Do you think that when faced with a delicate situation - a polictical protest with multiple injured persons, war, natural disasters - or other scenarios where people are hurt, dying or dead - do you think that we should stop photographing? Or should the camera keep rolling in order to capture atrocities? Would you stop to help, rather than shoot? Would you stop shooting if an injured person begged you to?

Traditional and Digital art are both completely different mediums, able to create the same product. It is possible to paint a beautiful, watercolor-like painting digitally, as well as achieve the cleanliness and color options of a digital piece traditionally. Therefore, using one or the other to express ourselves creatively is, just like many things in life, just an option. People may have personal, sometimes even illogical reasons for using one or the other and that's fine. Today, however, I'm a cheerleader for the "traditional side", and I offer you 5 reasons to do it traditionally!
1. Oh the wonderful smell of art supplies > I'm not talking about the toxic smell that come painting techniques require, of course. Rather about the feeling you get when entering a huge art supply store, touching all those brand new pencils and tubes
PE: Presentation mattersPresentation mattersPE: Presentation matters in Art Features More Like This
It's not just the artwork that tells you something about it's creator - on the internet, the way you present it is at least equally as important. Your painting can be a masterpiece, hanged in a local gallery, but as long as you post a blurry, badly cropped picture named "1564873" along with "..." in an artist's description, nobody will ever bother visiting your gallery. Creating a nice, representative profile page and setting a certain visual quality standard takes extra time and effort, but if you really care for your work (even if it's just a hobby), you should treat it with some respect.
I've already written a related article called The power of context that tried to explain how to place your work in a context in order to better connect with your audience, this one is focused

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
1. Your work consumes a significant amount of your life time. If you don't love what you do, you spend way too much of your time being upset and uncomfortable.
2. You will probably never be truly great at what you do. Without passion and will to invest, improvement is unlikely to come.
3. You'll lack fulfillment. You'll be thinking about things you could be doing instead and watching the clock all the time. Your days won't be productive.
4. Without being productive, you won't get promoted. Without excitement and portfolio that shows progress, you won't get new customers.
5. While doing a job you don't like, you won't be able to do what you'd love to do more, be much better at and more productive. You will waste yourself.
PE: The power of contextA picture is indeed "worth a thousand words", a complex idea can be conveyed with a single still image. This quote also characterizes one of the main goals of visualizations, namely making it possible to absorb large amounts of data quickly. In our perception of artworks we see every day, some get closer to our hearts than others. Imagine a painting, strong and powerful, technique showing an experienced, steady hand, needing nothing but a pair of eyes to enter one's sensitive soul. Are you satisfied with what you see? I wouldn't count on that, but I would be quite sure that after a while your head fills with numerous questions.PE: The power of context in Art Features More Like This
On the contrary, your favorite artist publishes their recent work and you, as always, immediately love it. If, however, you would allow your mind a little exercise, you could clearly see that if this work was shown to you at random, under different circumstances and you would not know the author, hardly would it catch your interest for a second.

Let's take a look

Besides, even if you didn't like the current level as much, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it at the moment. So many unfortunate happenings stand right between you and your dream. Recognizing any of the following?
1 - You don't have the time
You're right! After all, you are a human being, not a machine, waking up early every morning, heading to school/work, afterwards taking care of the household/kids/your homework, studying, you barely even finish all the tasks during the 24 hours that's been given to everyone.

More-less, this is true, some people are born more challenged than others but we all possess skills and ability to learn. It is possible to build something out of nothing if we really want to. It all comes down to our preferences and decisions.
"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."

By constantly challenging yourself, you can get rid of fears that used to follow you. You will no longer be worried, you'll know you can count on yourself.

Yes, you are – I’m very happy about it. Well, to be honest, it all started when I was just a baby. My mom is an architect, she never forced me to be one, but, well, I just get some of her passion in my blood. When I was a kid, she let me color drawing designs of facades, and sometimes she showed those drawings to actual clients! I was so proud when she wasn’t ashamed of my drawings and I have to say that I was only 5 years old. In addition, we always have millions of colored pencils and all range of paints at home, and I could use them all the time, besides they were meant for professional usage, not for 4 or 5 years’ o
