FML. The Super Mario Galaxy StoryYou guys like story yeah? Let uncle Ry tell you a story, there's a lesson to learn here kids. Pay attention. I wanna talk about this now because last week was my birthday and it reminded me of this story, its related to a birthday gift. The gift was Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii. This is a picture of me playing the Nintendo Wii, I love my Wii. Had lots of great times on it playing games like Smash Brothers and Mario Kart and Twilight Princess, and a game I really loved called Super Mario Galaxy. The story takes place around 2009? A couple of years after the Wii came out. So one day a friend of mine Matt messaged me telling me he got a Wii, I thought great, about time he got a Wii. So I congratulated him, then he asked the question. :I He asked whether he can borrow some games and I was like 'HMMMMMMMM SHIT'. Well Matt is a nice guy, pretty honest and pretty generous. I usually am pretty generous too but when it comes to games, I hate lending it out

Apologies for 3DS Swapnote/Letterbox SuspensionAs you may know, a few days ago Nintendo suspended 3DS's swapnote/letterbox (Depending on which country your from) system, due to users exchanging offensive material. And there's always something from my family that ticks me off, and it's how they always view themselves as an outsider living in a foreign country. Nothing too racist but always drawing a line between the Asians and everyone else who doesn't have black hair and HD widescreen eyes. Very often we would be watching something random on TV and as soon as there's an Asian or mention of Asian, my parents would turn into meerkats sitting right up and bringing their full attention to it. They would be like "OMG its an Asian!" and try to listen closely, sometimes even turning the volume up to find out what is going on. MYTH 1: The mild warming over the 20th century is well within natural variations recorded in the last millenium. The reported warming trend is up to twice what it should read as due to the uneven distribution of data collection methods concentrated in urban areas.
FACT: Science is well aware of the "urban heat island" effect and already accounts for it. However, further studies into their effects find no significant impact on overall climate data:

Businesses and corporations have obscene amounts of power. They control everything, they have more political sway than the rest of the nation combined, they take advantage of people and the environment as they see fit and they severely under-pay the employees who truly create and sustain them.
They are UNDER regulated. There should be forty times as much legislation. Businesses should be on the tightest, shortest leash possible and forced to serve people and the ecosystem before their own selfish needs. Nobody should be able to just sit back and hoard billions of dollars off of other people's hard work while contributing nothing to society, which is the case for almost everyone at the top of any large company. They're parasites with too much freedom.

Why 'reality is liberal'A lot of crazier people in America are thoroughly convinced that there's a "liberal bias" in the media. Because our news and entertainment is filled with cultural diversity, secularism, environmentalism, a growing acceptance of diverse sexual orientations and other things certain people just don't like, the only conclusion that makes sense in their mind is that there's a "bias" going on. That a small number of "liberals" happen to control the media industry and deliberately insert these attitudes to brainwash the public towards their agenda. Why 'reality is liberal' in Personal More Like This
If anything, however, the media falls quite a bit behind the progress of the American public as a whole. Sexism, homophobia, racism and xenophobia are less evident now in our media than they were decades ago, but still a constant underlying presence, especially the way corporate sponsors still control a great deal of content and choose to appeal to the lowest, safest common denominator.
To pull out one minor example from last year, th

From Skeptical Science's Consensus Project: http://www.skepticalscience.com/97-percent-consensus-cook-et-al-2013.html
Going by this very same source, we find only 0.7% of papers actually "reject" Anthropogenic climate change.
Everything in between - a remaining 97% - agrees that human activity has a meaningful effect on global climate to some degree.
The deniers are actually, seriously claiming a victory because their preferred extreme is bigger than the exact opposite extreme by a laughable 0.2%. They are floundering more than ever, desperately clinging to their black and white way of thinking, rubbing dirt in their own wounds again and again.

I think that no other word describes what we have seen in the climate debate quite as well as Grubering.
Indeed. Those in power who rake in millions of dollars on wasteful, environmentally destructive, inefficient and obsolete practices have long pooled their resources to convince the ignorant public that there is no global warming, nothing humans could have done to cause it, and nothing humans could possibly do to avert it, despite the fact that ALL scientific data EXCLUSIVELY points to the polar opposite.

At first, Gabriel was nothing more than a character named ONE. He had no backstory, no face, nothing. I just wanted to create a character that was a badass, yet with a sense of humor.

Holiday Card Project 2013Holiday Card Project 2013 in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviantA

Also some may have have expected the game to be released on the 11th, it was just a guess date. But things happen and the engine is being rewritten. So please bare.
Off To Havai
Welcome to the Havai Region! Havai is a tropical region made up of islands. It is located nearby the Orohn Region. Both regions are quite small, with few cities and few Gyms.Together they are considered as a whole region. On an island in between the regions is the Pokémon League which requires 4 badges from both Orohn and Havai to enter.
Sometime in the game, you'll be able to visit different regions like Atlas, Dhiome, or Rezai!

Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.
For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.

There are people who literally spend hours of their life every day following me. People who obsessively save every work of art I post online. People who comment and hypothesize about everything I do, even when I am not doing anything. People who make their own comics, websites, and blogs because of me. People who meticulously sift through my stats, my comments, and near-decade old journals. People who obsessively screen-capture everything I say or do anywhere online. People who seemingly have no life other than to talk about every aspect of my own. People who, day in and day out, never tire of talking about me to their friends online.
These people are amazing and I am continually astounded by them and the things they come up with... over a worthless and unimportant cartoonist.

I've been working on retooling SYAC recently. I've also been experimenting with Illustrator too. I'm still learning and there's a lot to work on, but I think I'm getting close to reaching the point when I can relaunch SYAC again.
There are three basic rules I'm gonna try to follow with this new series.
1. Keep it cartoony.
2. No strawman arguments.
3. Focus on the characters and their interaction with each other.
Since the newer style requires more work, there will be fewer comics a week, so I don't know if I'll have a regular schedule yet. Also, please be patient with the first batch of comics. With all this experimentation and style reworking, it's likely the first batch will be a little "off" until I can work out a rhythm.
The new SYAC will focus on a group of people as they enter an Art College. Some characters will be returning (like Persistent Pam and Curmudgeonly Carl) but others (like myself) will be ditched entirely. The comic will be less about giving art advice a

I should’ve updated my last journal right away when I found out that Aonuma was just trolling with the whole “was that really Link or not?” comment... On one side I’ve been getting inundated with people pointing out how “wrong” I was in the journal (despite the journal clearly coming out BEFORE he clarified his statement), and on the other side maintaining the concept that maybe it wasn’t Link has kept some fans a little TOO hopeful for the idea of a female Link or even that maybe it was him and Zelda’s daughter.
Sorry guys, but that actually WAS Link. I’m pretty disappointed in that, honestly, but I gotta try to be positive and not let this one set back discourage me. On the bright side so many people were “trending” about how much they’d love to see a female Link, that I think Nintendo finally took notice and realized it’s not just a deviant fan fantasy.

I've been wanting to try and set up a Minecraft series of videos with other Fresh Epic members like Dayvi and Humon, but setting it all up has proved to be a little more complicated and time consuming than I thought... so I just started recording my own experiences. Parody vs Pastiche and other Humorous ExamplesJust for fun I thought I'd do a rundown of the most common forms of humor, their definitions, and examples. This is not a complete list by any means, but they are a list of many forms of humor and literature discourse which often get confused of mixed up.Parody vs Pastiche and other Humorous Examples in Personal More Like This
An imitative work created to mock, comment on or trivialize an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of satiric or ironic imitation.
Example: The movie "Airplane" is a parody of 1970's disaster movies. Many of Weird Al's music videos are parodies of other more famous music videos.
A work of visual art, literature, or music that imitates the style or character of the work of one or more other artists. Unlike parody, pastiche celebrates, rather than mocks, the work it imitates.
Example: The movie "Super 8" is a pastiche of 1980's adventure films, specifically imitating the style of Stephen Spielberg's early career,

Ubisoft apologized for a lack of diversity in their games. They then vowed to try and diversify for future games. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/135500-Ubisoft-CEO-Says-Company-Will-Work-to-Extend-Diversity
See guys? THIS is when all that “social justice warrioring” bullshit pays off. Yes it’s kinda annoying that everyone was bitching about Ubisoft (myself included) for the past week or so... but guess what? All that bitching actually ACHIEVED something! Companies take their reputations very seriously, and noticing that they were getting a lot of shitty press means they’ll work very hard towards turning that around because no company likes to be known as the worse of anything (with the possible exception of EA).
This is also the sort of thing that I think raising a hissy fit on the internet actually works. A lot of people like to say “let the m

Zagreb, Day 22: The Vast Sands of TexasSo, at allixsenos's recommendation, I downloaded this iPhone app which tracks everywhere you go without you doing anything. It has an Orwellian vibe to it, but it doesn't share the data anywhere publicly (well, until I share it myself). I was curious to see how much I was walking here each day.Zagreb, Day 22: The Vast Sands of Texas in Personal More Like This
And there you have it.
I went out last night with some people to this music practice hall called MD Partner Vježbaonica near Cibona Toranj. I was told there would be "free beans." I have never been excited at the prospect of beans, nor was I here. Not that I dislike beans. They're a fantastic source of fiber. But it's not something that has any sort of culinary renown so I was curious to see why anyone would get all up in arms over them (especially so much that I'd have to show up early).
I've hung out with a few people here. I'm starting to notice a rather extreme difference between people on socio-

There was a restaurant at the base of the mountain that we met up at. Croatian restaurant culture amuses me because often, there is no menu. You just have to kind of know what there is and order it. I guess it's just assumed that most places have standards like coffee, juice, etc. This isn't really too crazy considering the same mentality applies to US restaurants to some extent. I had no idea what I wanted. duke kindly stepped in and ordered for me and I ended up with an espresso of some sort.
It was nice out. Still morning. The sun was shining. There was a nice view down of town below.&

Stockholm, Day 3: Eat the Face!Yesterday, I got a "fan letter." I've received a lot of letters, notes, and e-mails from people since I started this trip, completely unexpectedly and each time I do it rocks me a bit, but this one was touching because they told me that my writing had inspired them to get out of the country and travel finally. If I've helped one person see that they can do that, I'm happy. Hearing that made my day, my week even.Stockholm, Day 3: Eat the Face! in Personal More Like This
A few days ago, a stranger sent me a link to a song called "I Like Giants," which was an absolutely adorable song but I started to listen to other songs by the same artist and found one with these lyrics and I really identified with it: "I'm trying to be brave because when I'm brave, other people feel brave."
I've tried really hard while traveling to marginalize some of my weaker moments because I feel like they aren't entertaining, yet sometimes these are t
Zagreb, Day 30: Blank PaperI got lost today, only briefly, but being geographically lost felt like nothing in comparison to how far I had strayed inside from my comfort zone. Before I left Austin, when I went skydiving, the cameraman gave me some simple advice. "Just live each moment by itself," he said, trying to assuage my jittery left knee. It's not always practical advice for a highly introspective thinker. And deep introspection had always been my flaw. I thought if I looked deep enough inside myself, I'd have all the answers. I couldn't let go of the fact that sometimes the answers are outside your reach and that I won't have all the answers always, as much as I'd love to be omniscient.Zagreb, Day 30: Blank Paper in Personal More Like This
Traveling has forced me to come to terms with that. I am used to being respected for my intelligence above anything else. But when I am abroad, I am absorbing more than outputting and I long to feel like I am making a contribution, like I matter. Last night I hung out with someone who reads my journal. As in, that was our only existing established connection (for reference, this is the person who wrote to me and called me furzprincino--how could I not meet someone who calls me my own username in Esperanto?). It was kind of unusual, or as he remarked, "It feels like I'm spending time with Oprah." It was nice, in general, to hang out with someone who is also a world traveler and language-lover and get a more in-depth, albeit still somewhat broad (but suitable for me), explanation of the intricacies of Serbo-Croatian and how each language here differs from the other.
I know little differences as I come across them, but not usually the meaning behind those differences. For example, I know in Croatian, you always say "što" ("what") and the same word in Serbian, though it changes if you are using it in interroga
