Several hours later, I still contemplated these words on the bridge, watching from afar as Khan, Jaken, Blondie and a few other officers scrutinized a glowing blue holographic map. I wasn't really paying attention though, the wild pulsing of my heart drowning out even Khan's deep, velvety voice. I now knew why I had been blindfolded when first marched aboard the Vengeance.
I had only seen a glimpse of it, as Khan was careful to sling a muscular arm around my shoulders and whirl me back around to continue our walk the other way we'd came, back down the hangar and to the staircase. Yet I had seen it all the same, and clung to that fleeting image like a life preserver of old, the only physical hope I had of now, my only tangible plan of escape.
At the end of the impossibly long hangar, there had been a doorless room, a tiny communication base of sorts, and I had felt a rush of overwhelming joy when I caught a glimpse of what was in there. It was just a glimpse, impossibly fast, but I had

The young captain's usually striking bright blue eyes, lacked their usual boyish charm, looking exhausted today, as Starfleet as a whole was reduced to complete and utter chaos. His regulation transmitter had been beeping angrily since five yesterday, and he couldn't remember a time when it sat calm and still, not accusing him of raging careless failure. Right now, he stood in the newly reconstructed Daystrom Institute, his transmitter buzzing on the edge of the table, nearly about to fall off, while the captains and first officers of every vessel in the fleet, all spoke at once, in panicked tones, asking him the thousands of questions that he'd already tried asking himself but still couldn't answer. How many dead? Had the hyper-gravity device been faulty? How could Khan possibly know of the takedown? What was his next move? How many more would die? What could Starfleet do in terms of defensive maneuvers? How did Khan appear to be on course to fly over the desert when he so obviously w

I stared out into space, quite literally, I thought with a slightly amused half smile, thousands upon thousands of diamond stars whirling by, as I peered out from the bridge of my speeding prison, the towering terror that was Kahn's Vengeance. Even with my back turned to him, I could feel those cool calculating jade eyes upon me, focusing intently. The chills racing down my spine were the unnecessary confirmation of that....... I could almost see him back there, leaning back leisurely in his Captain's chair, the bit of his sleek black hair that had hung so wildly in his eyes had been slicked back in its proper place, his long, muscular arms on the rests, his reaching, slender fingers tapping the space just above the controls repeatedly as he watched me, as if I was the only one there with him in the crowded bridge. Every so often he would answer a question, give an order, verify coordinates, yet still those eyes never left my turned back. I knew what he was doing. I knew he

"Nothing, just admiring the sophistication and advanced technology used to create the- the-" My voice was several octaves too high, much too fast, giggling to cover up my guilt, and I whirled around to face him, losing all manner of speech, as he flooded my vision, forgetting entirely what I was going to say.
"Thank you. I did design them myself." He grinned brilliantly, showing off those perfectly white teeth, and I stumbled, grabbing the side of the desk for support. Holy. Lord. I felt sure I was going to faint. I knew it. Khan wasn't real. He couldn't be. I decided then and there that he must be a beautiful delusion, part of a reoccurring dream that I kept having. The overhead sun with its sweltering rage, beat down relentlessly upon me, as if fulfilling a personal vendetta. Beads of sweat rolled down the curve of my back, causing the black fabric of my tank top to stick and cling to it. I could almost feel my pale skin burning beneath the rays, and my long, brunette curls hung heavy and hot around my neck and shoulders. Wearily, I reached around the back of my head, pulling my hair to the side, the hazy, unforgiving sun zapping my strength, as I nearly collapsed onto the ground, letting the sleek black bag I had shouldered, fall beside me into the burning sand. Breathing laboriously, I rose up onto my knees over the bag, unzipping it with extreme care. As hot and miserable as it was, I could feel the tremors of excitement in my fingers as I eased the long and narrow bag the rest of the way open. I had a mission. A real, Starfleet Mission, from none other than Captain Kirk, himself!! A mission...... that could potentially save the world.

It had to be hours later when we returned to the seemingly endless hallway outside my bedroom door. Khan's manner was even more jovial as he held tight to both of my hands, both of us laughing and grinning, stumbling over each other's feet, drunk with such indescribable feeling, the kind that could only be inspired after so perfect a night. Khan had taken me to just about every inch of his beloved ship, tugging me along after him, darting from one place to the next, talking impossibly fast and excited, about the Vengeance's intricate infrastructure, the overall design, pointing out features to me, exulting in the ambiance he had created. He explained it all to me, the lighting, the layout, what each room was for, what each consul did, and he was so ensconced with it all, that I did in fact, feel myself seeing the ship in a much different way. Not so much the looming midnight monstrosity that had swallowed me whole, but rather a dark beauty, flawlessly advanced in design, passing unse

The fog thickened in the faint light of an all white rising sun, and settled into London's Trafalgar Square, as if the clouds themselves had descended from the glowing grey heavens above, blanketing all in mist and mistique. The normally bustling beloved locale was nearly vacant due to the earliness of the hour, and the strangeness of the weather. There was however, one lovely young woman seated on a bench in the square, not repelled by the fog like so many, but attracted to it like one chasing a dream. This was heaven, her heaven, when modern day London was transformed by all the alluring secrets, and mysterious beauty of the past into the setting of stories she so loved, the very air alive with romance, danger, and intrigue. A feeling that was left in another time, that beckoned to her, reaching for her even now. She smiled softly to herself, breathing it all in, letting it overwhelm her senses. I hadn't known one person could feel just about every emotion on the scale known to man in so short a time. In the space of no more than three hours, Khan had given me the creeps, terrified me out of my mind, impressed me, inspired me, mesmerized me with his magnificent fighting skills, laughed with me, attracted me, complimented me, rubbed NOSES with me, and for however short a time let me cradle his head, showing him the forbidden affection that was extremely dangerous to us both. I stood there, heart pounding, breath quickened, alone on the darkened bridge with Khan, his eyes closed, my head careening from all that he had said. He'd made it so easy for me to walk away, or so he thought, and I'm sure any other Starfleet Cadet wouldn't have had to think twice. But if I learned anything at Starfleet, it was that I was no ordinary cadet. The longer I waited, the more worried he became, scrunching up his nose with his next breath. For the first time, since I'd met him, Khan was afraid.
I walked towards him with slow, careful steps, and I could tell his mind was quick at work, trying to tell if these steps moved away from him or to him. What was I doing? Here was my perfect chance to get the coordinates, just by lifting a finger to the Navigation Screen. From there all I had to do was rush down to the hangar, take the beacon in my hands, and with quick fingers, declare my freedom. I took more steps forward. Yes, that was what I should have done, what I'd longed to do

It will go unnoticed, often because of its length.
It is a rather sad fact, but a truth nonetheless.
For the simple emotions conveyed in just a few words,
Often hold more sway with those who are emotionally swayed.
There is no depth of the heart, nor a single thought spared.
For the effort placed into a piece that forgoes the winning edge,
For a hint of true meaning.
You will not read this piece and I will not expect you to.
It will not be popular or famous, nor will it see the light of day.
For length is the bane of true poetry,
And that is why so many of my kin have already left.
Thank you however, for reading this;
For you at least took the time to see what I would consider 'truth'.
It is bitter indeed and intensely sad,
But for the you that respects this, I am eternally glad.

Darling, please don't give up.
Please stay strong.
Don't let go.

I know what I've heard, and I know what I've seen.
You're such a slut (at least that's how it'll seem)
I'll spit at you with hatred until you start to bleed.
I know where you've been and I know what you've done.
I know who you are... now let's have some fun.
"Did you hear about that girl?"
"Yeah. She's so disgusting."
I know you, and I know where to call.
I know you, but you don't know me at all.
I'll dial your number, and hey, it's ringing!
I can't wait to hear your cries singing.
"Slut." "Whore." "Freak." "Weirdo." "Loser."
Well, you're all mine now, so where do i start?
I know! I'll start at the back of your heart.
That guy that you like? Well, we'll pretend we're him.
What should we make him say? Oh, where to begin?
"You're so ugly." "Anorexic!" "Do you always look this bad?"
Next day at school, and you didn't show up.
The teacher comes in with a horrible look.

I see you're hiding behind long sleeves.
I can see you trying to cover up your "ugly side" with gemstones and lace, with pretty clothes and make up.
But, hello darling.
You can show me.
I see you're pushing away your dinner.
I can see you thrusting fingers down your throat into the sink, trying to hide your secret with laughter and smiles.
But, hello dear.
You can show me.
I see you're hiding behind these precious things that the others care so much about.
I see you're upset with who you are, in fear that who you are might upset others.
I see you're broken, and I see, you're outspoken. You're lost and confused.
I see you're trying to hide something.
But, hello honey,
You can show me.
Because I don't care what they say about you.
I won't listen.

Monsters, destruction, and sweet butterflies
Hopscotch and daisies, surrounded by screams
Beautiful dresses now torn at the seams
Crayons and paintbrushes, villains and grins
Young, gladsome innocence, hatred and sins
Little red houses on roads left to fade
Gorgeous moonlight shining off of the blade
Blood pouring out as she cries her own name
Knowing she's forced to take each bit of blame
She could have stopped it and left it behind
All of these things in her troubled young mind
She could have saved them if she dared to try
Rather, though, she left herself there to die.
Now, others watch as she sits on the ground
Keeping their distance and letting her drown
In her own worries and things she won't tell
Waiting for her mind to kill her as well…

I'll pull the trigger of this heavy gun
After I've given you some time to run
Dad, hey dad, let's have some fun.
Dad, come on now, can't you see?
This knife in your back and this bullet in your knee
It's who I've become, who I've grown to be.
Daddy, come on...
Come play with me.

The vampire and the adventurers arrived at the doors of the candy castle. Marshall Lee's face was twisted in a scowl. Fionna, on the other hand, was excited. She knocked on the big doors and stood back. They opened to reveal the Gumball Prince already waiting.
"Welcome Fionna and Cake! So nice to see you! I've been waiting and-- oh. You brought him?" Prince Gumball frowned at the sight of Marshall, who stuck out his tongue.
"Well well, nevermind that, come in!" He lead them to a room where there was a chalkboard and a few desks.
"Now, the other day Fionna you told me you would like to learn the basics of math, so I've prepared some lessons for you." Gumball took some papers out of a drawer and walked over to the chalkboard.
"Today I'll be teaching you the basics of addition, in which you will--"
"BOOOOOOORING!" Marshall yelled out. He snickered and unfolded his umbrella.
"Marshall!" Fionna snapped, "I told you not to be a jerk!"
"But math is sooo boring, only weenies le

"Arghh, what horrible day," groaned Fionna. She trudged along the path to her tree house. The sky was dark, the sun was setting really quickly. On her back she carried some books in her pack Cake had requested she find. She had spent all day trying to find them, searching about every library in the land of Ooo.
She kicked at little pebbles as she walked. Some squirrels were chittering in the trees, but Fionna secretly wished they would shut up, for she was beginning to have a head ache. She stopped at a tree stump on the side of the path and sat down, rubbing her temples. She tried to meditate. Her mind began to clear, and the pain in her head began to dull. She got up again and was about to continue when she noticed something.
Everything was dead silent.
She felt a chill go down her spine, a she sensed she wasn't alone. Something was behind her. She gulped and pulled out her sword, and slowly turned around.
"YEEEE-AAAHHH!" she yelled as she swung her sword, b

"So this is the girl you've been talking about?" Ashley asked, pointing at Fionna, who was sitting on Marshall Lee's couch, munching an apple.
"Yeah, this is Fionna. She's a mortal but she's pretty cool," Marshal replied. Ashley glared at Fionna, sizing her up.
"Er, hey." Fionna squeaked. She was having second thoughts about coming here. Marshall had insisted she should meet his girlfriend, but she didn't think Ashley liked her that much. The tension in the room was almost smothering her.
"Cool huh? What can she do that's 'cool'?" Ashley sneered at Fionna.
"I'm good with swords and junk..." Fionna pulled out her sword to show Ashley, but she didn't look impressed.
"That's cute, but really, without magic you aren't worth much," she said. Fionna' face grew red, and she stood up.
"I guess I'll leave now. I understand I'm not math enough for you guys." Fionna headed for the door.
"Wait! Just ignore what she said, you're math!" Marshall called, but Fionna ignored him and was

Fionna lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. It was about midnight and she hadn't slept a wink. She thought about what had happened at candy kingdom and shuddered. Prince Gumball would probably never want to see her again. She buried her face in fer pillow and yelled. She heard a tap on her window just then.
"Who is it?" she called out, reaching for her sword next to the bed.
"It's just me." Fionna shrieked, right next to her was Marshall Lee. Fionna looked at him and frowned.
"Why are you here? What makes you think I want to see you after what you did?" she put her word down and crossed her arms.
"I wanted to say I'm sorry. I guess I was kind of a jerk." He sat on the floor and looked up at Fiona shyly. She looked back with a suspicious face, as if trying to tell if he was being sincere. She finally sighed.
"Well, whatever. I guess I should of told you you couldn't come." She bit her lip. Marshall looked at the ground.
"Um.. so...um... Are we okay?"

"So how have you been coping?" Fionna asked Marshall Lee, who was helping her clean the tree house.
"Eh. I'm good. I just miss having someone at the house," he answered, dusting a shelf. Fionna sat down on the couch.
"Well looks like the place is done. Thanks for helping," she said. Marshall nodded and put the duster down. Cake walked in the room, looking giddy and excited.
"Guess what kids! Cake is going on a vacation! With a certain sexy man..." She giggled and jumped up and down.
"...You mean Lord Monochromicorn? For how long?" Fionna asked. Cake shrugged.
"About 4 weeks or so, we're going to a far away place, and it's gonna be so romantic!" Cake danced around the room, humming a little song.
"Ooh, I better go pack, I'm leaving soon! Are you gonna be okay alone for that long cupcake?" Cake asked Fionna. Fionna nodded. Cake rushed into her room and started stuffing her belongings into a large suitcase.

"HEY FIONNA WAKE UP THERE'S A FREAKING VAMPIRE IN OUR HOUSE!!!" Fionna sat up from her bed. Cake looked at her with frightened eyes. She pointed towards the door into the living room. Fionna got out of bed and yawned. She walked into the living room, and sure enough, there was Marshall Lee lounging on her couch, fast asleep. She went over to the window by the couch and opened it wide, letting the sunlight in. Marshall's skin slowly began to sizzle. His eyes opened.

"Is the pie done yet?" asked Marshall Lee, who was lounging on Fiona's couch.
"Nope, it still has to cook," she answered, checking the oven timer.
"Well I hope that doesn't take too long. I'm really hungry. What flavor is it again?" He inhaled the smell coming from the oven. Some drool dripped from his mouth and he wiped it away.
"Cherry, I made sure it was a red filling," she said. Marshall's stomach growled and she giggled. A knock came at the door, startling them both. Fionna opened it to find Peppermint Maid, holding a paper. She begun an announcment.
"Greetings from the Candy Kingdom, I present to you an invitation from Prince Gumball to attend the Sugar Cane Ball, tonight at 7:00 pm. The Prince wanted to inform you that you may bring a companion if you wish... And Fionna, he wanted me to tell you personally that you are forgiven for the incedent at the Candy Castle, and that he understands it was not your fault." Peppermint Maid bowed and added, "I sincerely hope
