"Mommy? Who're you talking to?"
"Look at this poor boy, darling. His glasses are broken."
"What's wrong? It'll just take me a moment, hold on."
"Can we go, mommy? His eyes scare me..."
"It's alright, honey. Without these glasses, his life is lost. But with them, he can be useful for eternity."
"What're you doing? They're broken. There's nothing you can do."
"Nonsense. Here we go. Good as new!"
"How did you--"
"What's a demon if they can't even do this much?"
"That's so cool, mommy!"
"Why did you--"
"Make a promise with me, in exchange for fixing your vision."
"Promise me... that you'll protect my daughter."
"What was that, mommy?"
"Nothing, darling. So, is it a deal, reaper?"

"No, thank you," you reply blankly.
The undertaker gives you a worried look. "Your appetite isn't very strong today. Is something wrong?"
"I just have a headache. Don't worry about it," you say, standing up and walking away.
I've been here forever.
And yet, it feels so strange.
Old but strong grey walls keep the almost-ancient, supposedly abandoned manor up. The simplicity of this mansion is absolutely boring, but it's subtle, and makes everything peaceful. You look walk around the house, keeping track of your steps, listening to the loud, crisp echoes they make.
You stop, and stare at a brown door, painted like all the others.
This was mother's bedroom.
You open the door and step inside, inhaling the scent.
You lie down on the bed and look at the plain white ceiling.
You blink and, for a moment, it seems to turn into a wild array of colors.
Shaking your head, you get up from the bed, walking

"Honestly, don't you two have anything better to do?" He groans.
"No, My Lord."
"Not at the moment, Earl Phantomhive."
"Sebastian, I can't believe you actually let her cook."
"My Lady insisted on it, so I couldn't object."
"Earl, please shut up and eat your food," you smile menacingly.
"You're under no right to talk to me like that--"
"I'm not?" You look at him with a glare. "I'm just like you, remember?"
"T-that's right. Continue," Ciel sighs.
Sebastian lifts the top off of the tray to reveal a glass of something and a pie.
"I have prepared an organic chilled blueberry soup and a sun dried tomato quiche for the main course. Do you prefer yogurt or cream cheese, my lord?"
"Cream cheese," Ciel replies boredly.
"I mixed local blueberries with imported ones from California to create a sweet and sour taste. You seem to favor that, my lord. For the quiche, I used quail eggs, which go wonderfully

"I apologize deeply, young master, but the blade was covered in some type of poison. Even though the size of the cut is small, I must admit I have never felt so much pain in my life," the butler coughs.
"I haven't seen you like this since that encounter with the undertaker. The poison, the sharpness of those blades... just who is she?" The young earl ponders. "She can't be human, beating you up that badly."
"My senses are telling me she's human, though," Sebastian mutters, causing Ciel's eyes to widen. "Still, there's something off about her. The sensation is ultimately a human soul, but it's different from regular humans. I just can't figure out what."
"What is she, a human-animal hybrid like Snake?"
"No, no, that's completely irrelevant to our situation. I also can't sense anything from her at all. Say, if I was presented with a murderer, I would be able to sense death around him. However, I can

Much, much worse.
The wandering corpses walk out of the wall, lost and hungry. They turn their heads at Ciel.
Well, not so much lost anymore.
You turn over to Sebastian, and giggle slightly at his struggle to contain the undead monstrosity.
"Sebastian! Catch!" You yell to him, throwing him the butcher's knife in your hand.
He catches it and gives you a smile. "Thank you, My Lady."
You sigh at him. Honestly, being so formal at a time like this.
He then proceeds to carve at the monster mercilessly and messily, the blood of the corpses staining his face and suit.
Not so formal anymore.
Taking out the remainder of your throwing knives, you turn back to the corpses that threaten to rip Ciel into shreds and begin to stab them heartlessly.
But as if they have hearts anymore.
Still, more and more corpses continue to spill through the hole in the wall, and e

Well done, Phantomhive. My life's much easier with you around, you think.
At dinnertime, you serve Victoria her courses. She finishes rather quickly.
"Incredible, my dear, as always!" She compliments.
"Thank you very much, Your Majesty," you smile and bow.
Victoria waves for Earl Grey to bring over a silver platter. He brings it in front of the queen and removes the lid to reveal a small cupcake frosted with cream.
Everything goes silent for a moment.
Looking a bit annoyed, Victoria points her head in your direction, motioning for her butler to present the cupcake to you.
"Eh? For me, Your Majesty?" You ask, slightly surprised.
"Happy birthday!" Victoria smiles. "You do so well, you forget to take a break once in a while,

Ciel sits up from bed, to see two figures, shadowed by the moonlight.
Ciel looks at the taller figure, Sebastian, who seems both dazed and shocked at the same time, looking at the shorter figure.
The shorter figure turns her face to Ciel, wearing a warm smile on her face.
"Earl Phantomhive. I trust you have been well?" She asks smoothly.
"Lady _____!" Ciel practically yells. "You're..."
"Please calm down, Earl," she requests quietly. "Yes, I am alive, and I'll explain everything soon. For now..." she looks at the spaced-out butler with a grin.
"Sebastian! What are you doing?! Hurry up and explain this!" Ciel demands.
Sebastian flinches and regains his straight composure, turning the half-demon's grin into a snicker. "Lady _____ is a half-demon, My Lord, daughter of a human and..." he walks up to Ciel and whispers a name in his ear. Ciel's eyes shoot open.
"Are you serious?" He asks in a loud whisper

I swear, I will murder you one day, you think.
You give Edgar a strained smile and he replies with a nervous laugh.
"Please welcome, Lady _____!" He finishes.
You grin, noticing the shock on the faces of Ciel and his butler.
Oh, that's good.
It means they got my photo.
You slowly walk up the stairs and onto the center of the main platform. You give the audience a warm smile before beginning, which they all "ooh" and "aah" at.
"Oh my gosh! You're so cute! Your dress and everything!" A blonde girl in the crowd interrupts you.
You chuckle and silently mouth out a thank you. Ciel tells her to "shh," cheeks red with embarrassment.
"Ahem, Her Majesty is saddened by the fact that she cannot attend tonight, but she wishes you all a great time. If any o

The ballroom goes silent, and with a sigh, all of the soldiers lose their tough composure.

The eyes of the disappointed army shift to an angry-looking boy, and a kneeling butler looking solemnly at a bloodied girl lying in his lap.
"It's the Earl Phantomhive!"
"But who's that?!"
"It's Her Majesty's assistant!"
"What are you waiting for?! Get over there!"
The knights rush over to the three, and the dying girl notices them, lifts up her head shakily and gives them a weak smile, with a faint glow in her eyes.
Then her head drops.
The butler leans toward her lips and "listens for breathing."
