An alien rift opens up in the pacific ocean and giant monsters start pouring out. After failing to stop them with our usual tanks and planes, the world unites to make giant mech robots punch the monsters to death. Because the robots are so big and complex, controlling them alone is too intense for a single human brain to comprehend. So mech robots are piloted by two crew members who mind meld with each other to share the power load. The better in-synch the pilots are with each other, the better the robots perform. The movie follows the events as monster outbreaks increase and a last ditch effort to close the portal is put into motion.
There is a LOT to get through in the movie in terms of world building. Sometimes so much so that you don't get a chance to absorb it all in. Likewise, since there's so much going on the characters don't get very developed either. Outside the 3 main characters, the rest of the characters are simplified ste

If this is old news, forgive me I just found it and thought it was hilarious:
Level 5 Studios (the company most noted for the Professor Layton series) was having their 15th year anniversary this week. Along with discounted game prices, part of the celebration was to make a wallpaper featuring player voted favorite characters. Unfortunately for Level 5, the voting of these characters quickly came under attack by trolls who hijacked the results and submitted obscure minor characters instead. The final list included the airplane from Aero Porter in first place with 46,000 votes.
Rather than toss out the votes and start over, Level 5 just rolled with it and produced the wallpaper with the skewed results anyway. You can download the wallpaper here: http://www.level5.co.jp/15th/vote/
I think what I love most about this is that they actually went with the airplane. The inanimate object from the Aero Porter games gets TOP BILLING on the poster. That's hilari
Yoshi StoryI have to admit, I am incredibly surprised by the overwhelming success and appreciation of the recent comic "A Yoshi Story"Yoshi Story in Personal More Like This
In less than 24 hours the comic has generated almost 200,000 views and been featured on a number of different outlooks including DA's tumblr, facebook, ICanHasCheezeburger, Memebase, and more.
As much as I would like to take credit for the comic, I want people to give proper credit due to DA user Commisar-Erdno for writing the story in the first place. All I did was draw it. Credit for the concept and execution goes to Erdno. So please be sure to check their DA page out and tell them how much you loved the comic.
It's also rather fun to see the comic being used as a Rorschach Test of people's optimism/pessimism. Either way, it's still fun to see everyone's interpretations of the story.
So thank you everyone for your support. I really did not expect a comic about a Yoshi sacrificing itself to save Mario to become so popular and loved by s
Texas Abortion Bill FilibusterIn case you live outside the USA and haven't heard of this yet, Texas was preparing to vote on a radical bill that would effectively outlaw abortions within their boarders. Senator Wendy Davis came in early in the morning with the expressed intent of filibustering: The goal being to delay the critical vote.Texas Abortion Bill Filibuster in Personal More Like This
Wendy Davis talked for 11 hours straight. No food. No drinks. No bathroom breaks. She couldn't even pause for a moment to take a sip of water or else she'd give up the floor and the vote could get underway. 11 hours straight she talked and just before the midnight cutoff she was interrupted, and the vote began... only to become absolute pandemonium as the crowd watching protested the interruption.
The GOP insists that the vote carried and passed, while the Democrats insist that they were still taking votes after the midnight cutoff thanks to the chaos that ensued. This is going to be one of those instances where the GOP are gonna try to lie and shove their way through our diplomatic
10 Years of ControversyOver the past couple days I’ve had a number of people write me comments basically saying “You’re becoming too preachy, you’ve lost a fan.” And outside the silliness of publicly mic-dropping like that, it got me wondering... what?10 Years of Controversy in Personal More Like This
Ya see, It’s always surprises me when someone says that I’m becoming too preachy, when in fact I’ve been preachy from the beginning. Don’t believe me? Take a look below!
This is not a complete list by any stretch of the imagination, but these are essentially THE MOST controversial comics and illustrations I’ve ever done in the past 10 years.

3DS Upgrade, Unprofessional Pros, and Wares3DS Streetpass upgrade coming soon3DS Upgrade, Unprofessional Pros, and Wares in Personal More Like This
In Japan, the 3DS's streetpass feature seems like a no-brainer. It's a small tightly packed group of people who bring their games with them for their public commutes. But in the west... we're much more individualistic and rely less on public transport. As such, streetpass only ever really works if you attend conventions. Nintendo recognizes this as a problem and is hoping to change that.
Participating stores around the country will feature a sort of "relay streetpass cache." Anyone who visits one of these stores with a 3DS in their pocket will automatically get their streetpass info uploaded to a network. Anyone else who visits the store later in the day will download the stored up streetpasses. So you no longer need to have visited at the same time in order to benefit from the streetpass feature! Nice! Some of the locations include select McDonald's and Starbucks stores.
That really gives me more incentive to bring my 3DS with me p

A Brand New DeviantIDMorning Beta FolkA Brand New DeviantID in Personal More Like This
Today we've got a shiny new deviantID widget for you to try out
As it stands, the info on your page that informs visitors who you are and what you're interested in, is split into two widgets. deviantID and Devious Info.
This is a little unnecessary, so we've created a brand new deviantID widget that merges both of them into one!
Not only that, but the new widget will even help you along and make it easier for you to fill in all your info
How do I try it?
Simply edit either your deviantID or Devious Info widget and you'll get a little notice asking if you want to upgrade to the new deviantID
Accept that you want to upgrade, and *poof* you'll have the new deviantID widget with all your old data copied over
I don't like it, I want my old one back
Firstly, if there's any way you think we could improve the new widget let us know!
But if you still want your old widgets back simply click the "Clear Module Data" button
