Part 2 of the Gods series. I read somewhere that the Egyptians didn't actually believe their gods had the heads of animals but it was easier to depict them and identify them that way. So keeping with the theme of making the gods look normal, I got rid of the animal heads and instead gave them an animal mask. Even though not every god is wearing a mask, they all have one. Also with this one, I got rid of the floral interpretation and gave the Egyptian gods a plethora of jewelry. There are 10 in this part. I tried to pick the most popular ones, since unlike the Greeks, they don't really have a set Pantheon. I also refused to depict gods such as Nut and Shu as I felt they were on par with the Greeks Titans. This was also made a little harder by the fact that i tried to make them look ethnic, which is something I'm not very good at. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anubis, God of Embalming, Mummification, and Overseer of the Heart Weighing Ceremony Animals- Jackal Mask- Jackal
One of my favorite Egyptian gods and also my favorite guy in the series. The jar next to him might contain medicine and that jar is also what the hieroglyph for medicine looks like. Anubis is known for having many medicines and poisons. The smoke in the background is coming from the incense balls tied to his ankh staff because legend says they use to light incense to disguise the smell of death or something like that.
Here is a fullbody watercolor for :iconinkyose:, about her OC Leonora, in a victorian wedding dress, with orchids and peacock feathers ♥ It was a pleause to draw and paitn her, even if in the end the lace drives me crazy XD Hope you like her
This was done really fast, I usually spend hours on a single portrait and it ends up not looking too good, but this time I'm really satisfied how this one turned out. I think I'll try to do more humans in this style.
Inspired by gentle colors of my new succulent. Right now I have over 40 potted plants in my room and my special new beauties are venus flytrap and aquarium full of water plants. And yesterday in my garden pond waterlily bloomed for the first time ever <3
I'm constantly fighting the urge to post photos of my plants X)
This was supposed to be a tailpiece in an illustrated book about Joan of Arc. I've never been contacted again by the writer, so I guess it'll never appear publicly. Maybe I'm not that good afterall... but I'm taking it with the smile !
