Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc (1412—1431) is the ultimate iconic rebellious teenager. In nineteen years she lived a fuller and more exciting life, effecting the future histories of the two most powerful nations on Earth, than most can even dream of, and then died a martyr’s death for her cause and beliefs, for which she was declared a saint 500 years later. Her story has been told in many novels, movies and comic books. She was the girl who God gave a mission to drive the occupying English out of northern France. So fervid was her demand for action that she was made an advisor to the French high command and led them to victory after victory in the cause of F

Could any land be any farther from the European motherland, birthplace of the Renaissance that is the Genesis-point of the visual arts narrative we continue expanding and evolving today? And yet this remote country of islands in the Pacific has suddenly become a cinematic storytelling powerhouse, a film-friendly factory for the creation of some of the most important touchstone mass entertainment experiences to influence our popular culture in recent years.

The chaptered comic strip, has been collected into a 100-page graphic novel – and to the still-uninitiated:
It is not quite like anything you’ve probably ever seen before. The story follows “Zee Captain” and his sidekicks as they amble through a post-apocalyptic landscape. And while that hardly seems new and different, it’s the unusually superlative graphic quality of the comic cells and the Monty Pythonesque dialogues and leaps of logic that can become quite mesmerizing. Zee Captain, his face hidden by a gas mask that gives him a Darth Vaderish look, wears what looks like a Soviet Red Army uniform from WWII, and the strip does have nourish WWII feel. It’s as if the nuclear holocaust on Hiroshima and Nagasaki had never ended and spread to every major city on Earth. But

In many African countries, it is legal to hunt giraffes for sport. Hunters from around the world pay up to 15,000 dollars just for the chance to kill one of these animals. Despite declining giraffe populations, these African countries claim that hunting can be profitable for the government and citizens and that giraffe populations can be sustainably managed. But the continuation of this brutal practice only perpetuates the idea that these animals are a commodity and encourages illegal poaching. End the hunting of giraffes for sport today.

For the past nine years, Nepal has been hosting elephant festival that includes “The Elephant Games”.
The games feature trained elephants playing human sports, like soccer and racing. Elephants are forced to run in the competition and if they don't obey then they are beaten with sickle and bull hooks. The elephants are also subjected to a beauty pageant where their toes and other body parts are painted with toxic paints.
The annual December festival is the attempt of Nepal to promote tourism and conservation awareness of endangered Asian elephants but if we see nicely then this has been only an attempt to promote tourism. These games do not promote any kind of conservation for their environment and within the next four years the organizer committee hope to build a stadium designed specifically to house the elephant games. If they succeed to build such stadium then it will be one

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) unfairly confiscated his elephant, and put the elephant at risk of "imminent death" because of poor treatment.
The department filed a complaint with officers at Krapo police station accusing the mahout of possessing wildlife without permission. State officials then removed Phang Taengmo (the baby elephant) to the Thai Elephant Conservation Center (TECC) in Lampang province as state property. The Surin Public Prosecutor Office did not charge the mahout with illegal ownership, and then ordered the DNP to return Phang Taengmo to him.

Tell the Australian government to stop killing camels and create a plan that is both sustainable and humane.

Though the terrified herd ran away at first, they eventually returned to the railway tracks to mourn for hours before forest guards and railroad workers drove them away again.

Bear bile farming takes place in countries like China, Vietnam, Laos, and Korea, where bile is popular in traditional medicine. Bile is created in the liver, and stored in the gall bladder. Thirty years ago, the only way to acquire bear bile was to kill a bear, and remove its gall bladder. Of course, now that the bears used in this practice are endangered, farms must offset the cost of illegally acquiring more bears. How do they do this? They prolong their suffering.
