The Key is in Your Head
“The Secret Garden” was a serialized children’s story, by Frances Hodgson Burnett, written in 1910—11. It’s all about a troubled little girl coming alive in a secret place she alone has found the key to. Today, one’s “secret garden” evokes any place a person goes to be alone with their most private thoughts—that place sometimes existing only in mind in fantasy or memory.
“Of course there must be lots of Magic in the world,” he said wisely one day, “but people don't know what it is like or how to make it. Perhaps the beginning is just to say nice things are goi

What is it about a fictional character first introduced to the public in Great Britain in 1887 that has kept him being reincarnated, with generationally-correct upgrades, over and over again in film and on television? Who is this literary hero whose portrayal over the past century by such past masters as Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett to today’s vanguard talents Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch has inspired such a continuing outpouring of fan appreciation?

Sometimes in youth we play crazy mind games. One gruesome game was trying to think of the worst way to die. Or even better, the "which would you choose" version of the same conceit. Another was what would be the worst torture to endure. If there is one international touchstone that best captures youthful fears and wonders in speculation of what lies beyond the veil of death and awaits as possible punishment for our sins, it must be - to the few who have actually read it to the millions who "know" it – "Dante's Inferno." Who does not shiver at the thought of being lost somewhere in the "Nine Rings of Hell?"

When a subject poses to have his or her photograph taken, the subject tries to project a message about himself or

If the subject is posed by the photographer, the body pulled and prodded into the desired angles,
the facial expression “directed”, it is the photographer who is intending to communicate a message.
In either case, posing or posed, there is undeniably something “false” in the representation.

I mean, the first semester is coming to a close--and for once I'm actually really sad about that--and that means finals and new classes. Christmas is in like... 1 day, so I'm super stoked about that, and work is finally getting better!
I'm really enjoying the people I work with, even if I do have to take a moment to recharge my social battery every once in a while, and now that I'm in the swing of things, I'm not really all that stressed out, either. Wednesday I work 9-5, but that should hopefully be my last 8 hour shift, especially since I'm finally moving to Kid's next week.
Speaking of next week; my friend Ashley's [Kenren1st's] birth

Luckily for me, I did my final performance in Drama yesterday, so I get to go home at 9:50 instead of going to Drama.
Sometimes I love having an A Day/B Day schedule. It's so much more relaxing.
Anyway, with my last final about to be printed and turned in, I'm done with my first semester. I'm actually kind of sad, because I really enjoyed this semester - even if work got in the way of my enjoyment. It was much more fun and a lot more exciting than I expected it to be, so I have high hopes for next semester.
I also have pretty high hopes for Senior Year, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Well, that's about it.
Have a good day~!

It's such a weight off my shoulders, and I'm just so excited that they're okay with my decision to date a girl instead.
They also understood my sexuality and asked respectful questions about it.
It's just really nice to have them understand, because I wasn't sure they would.
Also, I went and saw the new Transformers movie with Bella on Wednesday, and it was amazing.
I was really upset about quite a few plot points, but overall it was a really good movie and I would definitely see it again.
That's all for now, sorry it's really short.

It's really great, and I love the layout of the Labyrinth! The dungeon crawler feeling you get against the FOEs is really cool (even though I still get freaked out when I'm trying to move and they're right behind me), and I like the squad mechanic much more than the "pick your teams individually before entering" mechanic from P3.
Not as much of a fan of the Main/Sub Persona mechanic, but it's nice being able to summon more than one at the same time; rather than being limited to switching to a new Persona and waiting to use their skills that turn, then switching to another and waiting to use their skills. I got home at 1 AM yesterday morning, and have been super jet lagged since then. When I woke up yesterday, I immediately wanted to go back to bed. I went out and got coffee with my dad, then we went to lunch, then we went back home. I had to literally dance around the kitchen to not fall asleep, since that was a very real probability all day.
The trip was amazing!! I really, really enjoyed myself the whole time, even though I was exhausted for 9/10 of it. It didn't really matter though, my tiredness only settled in when we were on trains or sitting idly somewhere, it didn't affect me otherwise.
Japan is super pretty! The sakura blossoms were in full bloom while we were there, and that just made everything super nice. Unfortunately it kind of played with my allergies a little bit, but other than that I was pretty much fine. Honestly, the worst part of the trip was coming home. And the 9 hour flights to and from Tokyo/Narita.

Adding to that stress, my dad hurt his back and has been really snappy with me lately. It makes it stressful to even be around him, and I seriously considered just packing my things and leaving at

I was outside taking a walk with Zack and Lukas when we passed a little boy who looked to be no older than six. He was dressed in a tuxedo with a red necktie and a little pin on his chest. And... He was holding a folded up American flag.
Do you know what that means? If you don't, let me explain:
If your husband/wife goes out to war and dies out there, when the troops come back, an officer will hand the spouse a folded flag. Now, if you have a son/daughter and both parents die... The flag goes to the kid.
That means this six year old little boy lost both of his parents. And. I just cried. I'm still crying. I hope you all know that little boy is the strongest little kid I have ever met. He wasn't even crying yet.
Please pray for him. Even if you aren't Christian or Catholic or whatever. I just want that little boy to know he's being watched over so he doesn't follow his parents

Why equipment doesn't matter all that muchOh god, I wanted that Wacom Intuos tablet so badly. Why equipment doesn't matter all that much in Deviant Events More Like This
I was 16 years old at that time. I had already seen so much amazing art on the internet for the last few years. Digital art, to be precise. And I wanted to be able to do that as well. I had a computer, I had installed Photoshop. The only thing that I didn't have was money. I was completely broke. Note: it's 2004 we're talking about, here. 10 years ago (yeah, I'm old) when computers still costed a fortune and one almost had to take an extra mortgage in order to be able to pay a tablet. Back then, the average Intuos tablet costed as much as the average computer; a whole damn lot of money.
I had already been drawing for years, back then.
I occasionally scanned my drawings. But as my scanner was utter crap (all scanners where, back then), my preferred medium was pencil (that never does well with scanners) and I wasn't that good with adjusting colors in Photoshop... most of my drawings ended in utter digital disappointment.

Arvalis-2012 by arvalis
What does 'Character Design' mean?
The character design is the process which comes after the characterisation and consists in defining the character through his/her physical appearance.
We need to consider a character as a little fictional creature, human or not, that aims to please its creator and the public as well.
While the basic characterization of this fictional creature (his tastes, his fears, his behaviors) may take a little mental effort, as it is a sort of list of emotions, facts and feelings that come and go in the life of a character, the process of visual realization of this creature may not be as simple. That's why many writers and characters creators prefer to rely on experienced hands.
Also many of the mental aspects of the character are not possible to gain by using 'static' visual medium. For 'static' I mean all the illustrations and drawings unable to tell a
