'IB' - Chapter Eleven
Upon arriving home on that quiet, eerie night, Dib was relieved to find that no insane Irken had followed him. He was alone now, and he had the feeling he would have a peaceful night in contrast to the others he had experienced.
As Dib had made his way into the house and up to his room, the lingering smell of day old blood hit him. It wasn’t quite as harsh and foul as the pile of junk found in Zim’s closet. However, it was enough to make the boy groan in both agony and nausea, but the smell didn’t seem to stop him from hobbling to his bed and allowing himself to collapse upon it.
At least he was safe for now, and tonight would be one of the only nights open for him to sleep without much worry. Zim was still too weak to come for him, and the computer was keeping him indoors for tonight.
As Dib lay on his bed with his eyes pealed wide open, he felt himself almost grow drowsy as time proceeded. He even fell into a deep and much needed sleep within fifteen

Dib’s hurried pace soon slowed to a steady walk as he got closer to Zim’s base. He delayed getting there as he was both afraid and nervous of what he may find here. He actually started to second guess if this was the best thing to do, but he arrived before he knew it. Once it were visible across the road from him, Dib stopped and stared at it for a short time. He drew in a deep breath, whispering unsure words of encouragement before starting closer towards it.
Zim's base looked pretty similar on the outside, except for where his gnomes keeping his house protected had been destroyed. Though, it did seem to have an eerie aura around it which was something that hadn’t been present in the past.
Dib had made it to the front door now, staring upon it as if there were something fairly interesting about it. In reality, he was just preparing himself for what he was sure would be a quite shocking sight. Finally, he pushed the door open and flicked on the lights wi

Dib remained in an almost trance-like state for a few moments as he recalled a few memories of Zim. He took another deep breath before speaking again in a quiet tone. “Zim... He was pretty interesting.”
"Yes? What is his personality like?" The doctor questioned, beginning to write again at the others decision to elaborate more on the subject.
Dib slowly looked back to the doctor, shifting in his seat as he considered the question. “Well, he was loud and obnoxious and would often insult the human race whenever he had the chance to. But, he was very proud of his race and his leaders. He made every attempt to take over Earth even if he failed every time. But I liked that about him...” Dib’s voice trailed off some as his gaze lowered. “I admired that about him actually..”
Dr.Gaul hummed and nodded his head a bit. "Well, I can only chalk this up as more schizophrenia from how you say this. You seem very fond of this little delusion as

After several minutes of just staring at the computer in complete terror, Dib turned to the platform and headed towards it. He shut off the lights on his way out, the computer’s bright monitor illuminating the room now. His head turned to look back at it, nodding once as if to thank it before stepping onto the plate in front of him. The platform rose again for him to take him back upstairs into the wreckage. Now he had an answer as to what happened and why Zim was behaving like he was. The better question was, would he regret seeing that though; seeing the complete self-destruction of his now former worst enemy and now current worst nightmare?
The thing that made seeing that video so traumatizing was that he had actually grown to some what care about Zim. Yes, they were enemies both out to stop each other at every turn, but before Zim, he didn’t have a reason to get up every day and go to school. Zim was everything he had always wanted; an alien that had found

Dib bit down firmly on his lip before shakily stepping forward and pulling him slowly up the creaky stairs. Since it was dark, he squinted his eyes in an attempt to see a bit clearer in the small amount of light that he had. As he slowly made his way up the stairs, whispering the Irken’s name in an attempt to draw him out from his hiding place. In a situation such as this, Dib preferred to know where Zim was rather than him be out of sight with the possibility of a surprise attack.
After a minute of crawling painfully slow up the stairs, he finally made it to the top with the sight of the illuminated room at the end of the hallway; the same room his sister’s decomposing body lay on the metal table. That light was still on, but there weren’t any sounds. Either the Irken was being especially quiet, or he wasn't there at all.
Dib’s feet were planted deeply where he stood, hesitating to go any closer to the room. Memories and dreadful images of what l

Morning came early for the traumatized boy, his alarm blaring loudly in his ear that morning. It was another school day, but would he dare even risk it? The answer was an obvious no as he slammed the top of his blaring alarm with a tight fist, then covered himself back in his blankets. After lying there for several minutes to think over his situation, he considered that maybe some human interaction would help clear his mind... Maybe someone would finally talk to him.
That was a shot in the dark though when it was really considered. What would make today any different from the others to the point someone would speak to him? Especially now that word was getting around that Dib was falling deeper into a psychosis that left him dangerous to others.
He made his final decision to skip again today. In fact, he was even considering the possibility of not going anymore all together. It wasn’t doing him any good anyway and with his current being; he was in no mood for peop

Resolve came in the form of first sunlight beaming through the shattered hole that was at one point a window. It immediately melted away the shadows and extinguished the coolness that the night had brought. Everything was completely visible now and revealed to the paranoid human.
However, even after the sun had come up, Dib took a while to convince himself that there wasn't actually anything there, and that it had all just been a crazy delusion in his head. After several more minutes of watching everything around him, he had finally convinced himself that he was alone now, which actually relaxed him and made him realize how tired he actually was. It was too late to try and sleep now though since he had to get ready for another dreadful day of school.
He didn't try too hard, though, as he decided to stay in the bloodied and torn cloths from the night before and only ran his hands over his hair in an attempt to smooth it out. He was far too tired and stressed to be concerned

Soon all of Zim's tremors just seemed to halt. He pulled himself back up onto all fours, extending his head up with his neck still cocked at an awkward angle so he could see Dib's face. He parted his lips into the grin again, beginning to screech out in a single laughter with that eerie 'e' sound again.
The sight of that haunting grin seemed to paralyze the boy as he slowly let himself down to the floor, wrapping himself in a fetal position as he rocked himself very stiffly as if to comfort himself. Violent shivers also shook him as the cackle rung in his ears as they only intensified the dread he was already feeling.
Zim slowly began to drag himself over to him, seeing him as wounded prey now. His limbs still had trouble taking turns, looking even more like a creature in dire need of an exorcism.
Dib's eyes expanded as the other drew closer to him. He didn't blink now since in his mind, blinking only made him made him more vulnerable than he already was, even though he wo

Dib walked down the sidewalk appearing more disturbed than he had since this had started. The lingering taste of Zim’s blood seemed to keep him in an almost trance like state as he walked almost unnaturally down the sideswalk. Of course, the boy’s unsettling demeanor attracted more stares from the people around him.
People went from being distasteful and scowling at him, to almost frightened and concerned for the boy. He'd been progressing so quickly to lunacy lately that some people believed it was time he saw someone about it.
This thought of going to see someone though seemed to be out of the question in Dib’s mind. He knew a doctor would only blame it on schizophrenia or just plain insanity and not even try to believe that something was actually going on. He would only be prescribed some drug to try and rid him of ‘the images in his head’.
Perhaps that's what he needed to stay sane though; receive some counseling and a bit of medicin

After hours of seemingly endless play, Dib and his small puppy finally fell asleep on the living room floor only to be awoken by the sun only a couple hours later. Dib groaned in annoyance as the rays shone in through the window, reaching for a blanket next to him to place over his face. Einstein stretched a bit with a yawn as he curled up under his neck where it was warmer. It seemed like nothing could disturb the two.
Dib lay silently now and enjoyed the peaceful moment, his mind almost completely clear of thought for the first time in quite a while. However, the thought of Zim still managed to creep its way into his mind, for he began to wonder where the alien was or what exactly he was doing since there hadn’t been a trace of him in a couple days. The thought was short lived though as he managed to push the thought aside and focus again on his small friend. Upon realizing there was no sign of the Irken even making an attempt to get into his house, Dib felt it were safer to be in there now than outside so he rushed towards it in quite a hurry. Once he had burst in the door, he slammed it furiously behind him and turned to lock the door for an extra sense of security. Hopefully Gaz had a key to the house so she wouldn't bother him with her obnoxious banging as she did quite often.
After locking the door, Dib turned his back to it and leaned against it, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself after all of the stress he had endured that day. Unfortunately, he could only think of Zim as he stood there, images of that haunting grin flashing in his memory.
The boy let out a groan of both agony and frustration as he headed towards the downstairs bathroom, pulling out a first aid kit to bandage his wounds before heading up to his bedroom hoping that some relaxation would help to clear his mind. Of cours

When Zim came to it was completely dark. He could vaguely remember waking up a few other times but had quickly been drugged again before he could get his bearings. Now he had absolutely no idea where he was.
Slowly his eyes began to adjust to the dark and he could only just make out the wooden crate he was trapped inside. Trapped! He was trapped and couldn't get out! His heart began to pound as panic rose up inside of him, forcing away all sense and reason. He scrabbled; twisting around in the tiny space as he desperately looked for any way out. He was an Invader, and Invaders could not be contained!
All of a sudden the crate bumped joltingly and light flooded in from a sliding opening. Zim didn't think twice before he shot out of the crate like a bullet, blinded by the sudden bright light he ran until he careened head first against a tree, abruptly stopping his panicked flight.
He blinked dizzily and looked up stupidly at the tree he had smashed into at top speed. T

It was dark by now, the stars just beginning to peep out in the sky while the sickle-moon shone faintly through the smog of the city. Next time Zim would make sure GIR would tell him when he was going out and exactly where he was going.
Suddenly Zim stopped mid-stride, looking back over his shoulder. For the past block and a half a suspicious looking bush had been shadowing him and sure enough it was still there, only five feet from him now. Zim narrowed his eyes. "Dib, this is your most pitiful spying attempt yet." He said. The bush rustled and the unmistakably big head of Dib popped out of the top. "Took you long enough to notice." Dib sneered. They padded along in silence then, making their way deeper and deeper into the savannah. Occasionally Zim and Dib caught glimpses of other animals, but Simba and Nala seemed intent upon where they were going and never slackened their pace.
Zim noticed Simba staring at him, his feline eyes practically burning holes into him. Somewhat irritated, Zim ignored him and focused on the ground beneath his paws, but he could still feel the lion cub's searing gaze, and it was beginning to make him feel uncomfortable.
"What?!" Zim finally snarled, snapping his head up until his violet eyes locked with Simba's amber. Simba never answered him but instead leaned toward Dib. "Hey, why is your friend green?" He whispered, although Zim could hear him perfectly well. Dib shot Zim a smug look. "Yeah, Zim. Why are you green?" He asked with a grin.
"You know perfectly well." Zim almost answered out loud, but he wasn't about to let his ingenious cover be blown so easily. Not with S

And there were tens of thousands like her, all down within the depths of their planet where they would remain until they were old enough to see the surface and take their place amongst all the other Irkens.

Zim couldn't wait to go to this sleepover. Exciting! He had told Gir he was coming, and Gir jumped with glee.
Dib had given a note to Zim listing everything that he needed to bring to the sleepover, after skool.
1. Sleeping bag.
3. Night goggles
6. Silver bullet
7. Small sleeping bag for Gir
Zim had looked up before what a sleeping bag was and he now knew what it is used for. He had called the computer and told it to make two sleeping bags during skool.
Now, at home, he packed what was needed. He put the bullet, goggles, stake, and radio in his PAK. He put the Garlic in a bag and put it in his PAK. Then asked the computer where the sleeping bags were.
The computer dropped the two perfectly made sleeping bags. One was blue like Gir's eyes, with a black Irken symbol on the front and the other, the one for Zim, was red and had the Irken symbol on the front. Zim grabbed the bags and went to the elevator. With an "Oof," Zim heaved back when Gir hit him, but made no move to stop him or get free of the hug that was killing his squeedily spooch. Gaz could not believe her ears, not an invader. Was lied to! Gaz then could not help but ask, "Why are you telling me this?"
Zim looked at her deep into her eyes, his blue contacts dark and sad, "Because you're the only pig-smelly that I can trust.
Gaz felt the strange urge to smile again, but resisted. They both remained silently staring at each other, now with a new respect.
The computer broke the silence, "My lord, it is almost midnight. I suggest you get some rest, you will need it for skool tomorrow."
Zim nodded in agreement, "Yes, so do you Gaz."
Gaz yet again was left in a state of shock; d

He hurriedly put on his pajama pants, and took off his shirt. Then he sank into his bed.
Little did Dib know that his sister has not come home? He did not know he was home all alone.
He closed his eyes in an attempt to sleep, but hours pasted and his mind wound not drift off to sleep. The reason was that he could not empty his mind of the single thought that haunted his mind since elementary skool. The image in his mind never changing. It was Tak.
This thought keep him up endless hours of the night, and once he did fall asleep, it haunted his nightmares. Why? He would always wonder why was the only girl who ever listened to him, who never made fun of him, why did she have to be an Irken? Why could he just fall in love with a normal human girl, who was not destroyed in his fight to save the world?
Why was the only girl to hate Zim, have to be an alien?
Dib sighed; she agreed with him

In biology Gaz sat flustered, and completely unwilling to continue, when Zim sat beside of her.
"Gaz-beast, can I the almighty ZIM, sit next to you?" He asked.
Gaz looked at him and shrugged, "Whatever."
Zim smiled, but his mind was in other places. He was wondering why he loved being so close to her. He couldn't help but sit next to her, and he felt so happy when he did. Zim felt a sort of longing when she was not near him. He did not understand why, but he did not question it.
The teacher walked in, "Hello class, I am Mr.

Gaz walked into the room, a plate full of waffles in her hands, "Here, GIR decided to make you some waffles."
Zim tried to sit up, but all he could do is moan in pain. Gaz sat the waffles down, and helped Zim sit up, putting pillows behind of him for support.
"Thank you." He whimpered.
Gaz nodded and placed the Waffles in front of him, he began to eat.
"I think we should discuss what happened." Zim said while swallowing.
Gaz nodded, knowing that he needed to know sooner or later, "You and Dib got into a big fight, I really don't know why. But you two ended up shooting one another."
Zim looked up from his plate, "Is Dib-stink dead?"
"I don't think so. That hunk of alien junk that he is always working on came and picked him up. I don't know where it took him, or even if he is alive."
Zim growled, "That insolent fool! He should never keep yo

Chapter One: Over the Radio
Dib's radio was picking up an odd signal. He turned the knob a little to the left. A little to the right. There was a short whine, and the sound came through clear. "Your turn, Zim," said an odd voice - it was high and low at the same time. "You've been assigned to...Earth. One more thing, Zim. This is NOT a regular conquer mission...it's a-" The signal faded out. Dib's eyes widened. This wasn't what he thought it was, was it? It had to be. Dib packed up his radio as quickly as possible and slid off the roof,

Chapter 2: The New Kid
It was an average, boring day in school. Ms. Bitters lectured, yelled at people, along with all the other usual things. It was average as average got...that is, until the principal came in. He and Ms. Bitters spoke in hushed tones, until she nodded and he left the room. Ms. Bitters spoke up in her loud, screechy voice, "Class, we have a new student joining us. Please be welcoming, as he might not be as bad as you kids turned out. Now come on in, whatever your name is." The door cracked open, and the new kid stepped in. Everyone's mouths dropped open. The new kid was AWESOME, and he hadn't even spoken a single word yet. He was very pale with black hair and blue-gray eyes, and he wore a nicely fitting long-sleeved shirt with an odd symbol on it - it

Chapter 5: An Infiltration Of Sorts
Zim and Dib stepped out of the Pokemon Center. Walking down the street were two women, in Team Plasma uniforms, strolling down the street.
"Hey, it's those creepy guys," whispered Dib. "What was that they were saying? Something about Pokemon rights?"
"Come on, let's follow them and see what they're up to."
Zim and Dib stalked down the road, hiding behind a small row of hedges as the two women passed.
"-New plan is very good, the boss was telling me the details earlier-"
Zim and Dib couldn't hear them anymore, as they were out of earshot and the row of hedges ended here.
"Looks like they're going in that building," said Dib.
Zim whipped out a pair of binoculars, focusing on the building they were going into.
"Looks like some kind of club, but it says 'Women Only' on the front door," informed Zim.
"Gee, if only one of us could change into seamless disguises at will to become a perfectly convincing

Chapter Three: Gaz goes Visiting
Zim sat on the couch, kneeling off to the side, doing his homework. He felt his first day on Earth had gone reasonable well, with the exception of that boy Dib completely psychoing out and assaulting him. Gir was curled up on the edge of the couch, and all was quiet. There was a knock on the door. Zim set his work down and went to answer it. Gir trotted after him. Zim was surprised at who was there.
It was the purple-haired girl who had been sitting near Dib. Gaz, was it? She stared upward, appearing to be trying to think of the right words. "Sorry about my brother earlier," she said, "He's really weird like that."
Zim shrugged. "It's fine." he said simply. Gaz looked surprised, but appeared to not have much mor

"Get OFF of me, Dib!" shouted Zim, pinned down by Dib.
"Never!" shouted Dib back, struggling to keep a hold on the Irken. They were deep into Zim's lab, and Zim was just about to fire a death ray at the Earth before Dib showed up and knocked him to the ground.
"I repeat, get OFF of me!"
"No way, not after-"
There was a flash of light, and it went black.
. . .
They both sat up. They were in a grassy area, right out side of a small town.
Dib jumped up, pointing accusingly at Zim. "What did you do?!" he demanded.
"Actually, I didn't do anything this time," said Zim, also standing up and brushing himself off.
They both looked around. "Well, where are we?" asked Dib.
Zim read a small sign. "It appears we're in some place called Nuvena Town."
Dib sighed. "I've never hear

Chapter 3: An Odd Meeting
Zim and Dib walked through the forest path, looking down at the trainer cards they'd been given by the lady from the Pokemon Center.
"I swear, that lady put 'Pokemon Breeder' under Trainer Type on purpose," said Dib. "You're lucky, you got 'Ace Trainer.'"
"Honestly, 'Pokemon Breeder' sounds like someone who really knows about Pokemon to me," said Zim.
"But to BREED them?!"
"I'll admit, that's a bit weird. Under personality, I got 'Serious.' What did you get?"
"'Naughty.' I swear, that lady has it out for me."
Zim was about to reply, but he was bowled over to the ground. When he recovered from the blow, he looked up at his attacker. It was a tiny, puppy-looking Pokemon. It was yipping happily, and and didn't seem at all combative.
"Hey, I think he likes you, Zim!"
"No kidding. Say, maybe this would be a good opportunity to catch more Pokemon." He pulled

Chapter 4: A Different Perspective
Zim and Dib sat down on two of the little, cushioned stools lining the Pokemon Center. Dib leaned back in his chair, his Oshawatt sitting obediently by his feet. Several young trainers had their eyes glued to a television screen, which was broadcasting a report of a drive-by in Saffron City, Kanto.
Zim snickered quietly.
"What's so funny?" asked Dib, a bit offended that Zim was laughing at something like this.
"Oh, I'm not laughing at the shooting," said Zim, leaning back in his chair. "I'm laughing at the absolute stupidity of humans."
"What do you mean?" asked Dib.
"Humans: Turning on their own kind rather than working towards a common goal they're self-destructive! Much better things could be done with technology than using it to kill each other. Oh, sure, nothing's wrong with a bit of friendly competition, like these Pokemon Battles, and every society's bound to hav

Ha! Got ya!" yelled Dib triumphantly, having just snagged his very own Pidove. The two had been on a catching spree for the past hour or so, catching as many Pokemon as they could for their own teams and the Pokedex. Zim's team now included a Ponpur and a Pidove, and Dib's now had a Ponsage, along with the Pidove he just caught. "So, how many we have in the 'Dex so far?"
"Let's see," said Zim, whipping the Pokedex out of his pocket. "Twenty-four!"
"Woo! We're making pretty good progress!"
"Now for the bad news," said Zim. "There are one hundred and thirty-two left to go."
"WHAT?!" asked Dib, jaw dropping.
"And that's just in Unova. There are six hundred and forty-nine Pokemon in the world total, so if we want to make a truly complete Pokedex, we're going to need about...six hundred and twenty-five more."
Dib groaned. "Well, let's focus on the Unov

They left the library, going down the road.
"We're looking for Professor Juniper's lab, they say that you can get Pokemon from there," said Zim.
"I wonder what they'll be like," said Dib.
"The information I downloaded didn't have any pictures of them, so I wouldn't know."
Dib shrugged. "Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough."
"You know, you're not that bad when you aren't trying to kill me," said Dib.
"Neither are you." They stopped outside of a large building. Outside was a sign which read 'Professor Juniper's Research Lab.' There were two other kids, looking about Zim and Dib's age, hanging around the entrance.
One of them, a girl, piped up, "Hello! Are you two here to get Pokemon, too?"
Zim and Dib nodded.
The boy, a rather snobbish looking child, sneered. "I haven't seen you two around here before."
"We just moved here," said Dib.
"Hm. Think you can handle yo
