Q: How did you get into cosplay photography?
Neil: Kind of by accident. I first attended Manifest in its second year, in 2001. I took along my brand new video camera, not knowing really what to expect but being dimly aware that there might be people dressed up. Two things were quickly obvious to me: cosplay and cosplayers were awesome, and I'd need a better camera. It wasn't till 2004 that I could shoot cosplay with my first DSLR that I became completely hooked.
Q: How have cosplay meets and conventions changed since 2001?
Neil: They have changed so much! Mostly to get much much bigger and much more involved. I commented to Hayden at MelCosPho 13 that there were more people there than at the first Manifest. Back then, t

Q: How did you get into cosplay and cosplay photography?
Lisa: I first discovered cosplay when I just started getting into anime in high school and came across it online. I was fascinated and would spend hours on Cosplay.com and deviantArt just looking up cosplays of all my favourite characters. 2008 saw my first official cosplay. I attended my first Manifest that year, cosplaying the 3rd Exorcist uniform version of Lavi from D.Gray Man. It was such a failure of a first cosplay; I didn't even have a wig on back then.
I didn't start getting serious about this photography hobby until late 2010. When my friends and I first started cosplaying, we didn't know anyone in the community really, and had only just started attending meets—late starters we were—so it became a habit of ours to just do shoots for each other. Q: How did you get into cosplay photography?
Regan: I first I heard about Manifest from my high school anime club. The club first started that year as well, and I think it was the first high school club. I saw a few fantastic cosplays and photos and thought I would like to do something like that.
Gradually I spent more and more time with cosplay as more and more meetups and conventions were organised and became mainstream. I recall going to the first Madman National Cosplay Comp held at Sebel Albert Park in 2009, trying to take photos in low light with my old compact and realising that it wouldn't cut it, and I think that was one of the driving forces for me to upgrade. Q: How did you get into cosplay photography?
Elias: I've been an anime fan for quite a while, even before I knew it was anime. I used to watch Astro Boy in the early 80s as a kid. I'd been taking photos for only about a year before really getting into it, and it was always hard to get friends and family to sit for photos. I had always wanted to go to one of those convention things, and I figured maybe people wouldn't mind if I took photos since they are in costume. I was that much of a noob.
I went to a cosplay meet or two, and when Neil ran the 2009 Manifest "studio" and needed a helping hand, I put my hand up. This was in the traders' hall, where cosplayers could book a timeslot to get photo

1. Kicked off the year with MelCosPho 13. Not gonna lie, it was probably one of the biggest gatherings of cosplayers in Melbourne since probably the last convention (Armageddon). Was insane as to how many people showed up, and for a social chameleon such as myself it was overwhelming not recognizing over 80% of the people there.

A mid-year update..Hello everyoneA mid-year update.. in Personal More Like ThisIt's a Friday night and I'm feeling alright so I thought I'd write out an update just as we approach the middle of the year~
Time is flying and some pretty big milestones in my life are coming up. I'm turning 18 in September and my Year 12 exams are in November. University plans have been going back and forth in my head but for now I'm trying to take it all one day at a time. it's only gonna get tougher from here but I'm confident I can smash through it.
Cosplay time: I've been laying low since Supanova due to studies but I had some time last weekend to attend a gaming tournament in Melbourne with :iconbbchibi: which was pretty fun and may have opened up a few awesome opportunities for us in the future (Can't say anything for now)
I've been organizing my next couple of costumes: I really want to pump out Kilik (Soul Eater), Tiger Jackson (Tekken) and Zimos (Saints Row 3) as quickly as possible. I haven't decided if I want to shoot the latter two or just keep them con-

Cosplay wise, it's been awesome. 2012's been my first full year of cosplaying and I've enjoyed it so much. I only got through 4 cosplays because of how stressful school was this year but hopefully that number will rise much more next year. I attended a heap of cons and participated in cosplay groups and overall I had an awesome time. My Sazh cosplay was the first time I received so many compliments and posing of photos, thank you to :iconmynameisdat: for suggesting the character to me.
This year was the first time I attended every Melbourne con: The Big Three of Supanova, Manifest and Armageddon as well as the epic failure that was Oz Comic-Con and needless to say I had an epic time. We know how to have fun here in Melbourne and I hope we can bring the fun interstate or even overseas next year (Fingers crossed!)

Answer: That must really be the First "The Hunger Games" book, I was really into it just by the first chapter.. I'm planning to read the others when I have time for it! :3

Answer: Since I'm watching Yu-Gi-Oh currently with my Boyfriend I must say that Puppyshipping (SetoxJono/Joey) is my favorite couple right now! But there is also Cherik (CharlesxErik) from X-Men that I will probably never stop liking and obsessing about!
3. Do you have a favorite Kpop or Jpop band? Artist?
Answer: Unfortunatly I don't listen to K-pop.. J-pop or any pop with a letter before it.. I have never found it intresting to listen to music which I don't understand
