On March 1, 2012 the Nevada DMV issued the first license for a Google Driverless Car. The idea behind this innovation is that one day soon new technology will drive cars safer and more skillfully than humans, thus saving lives and billions of dollars in car crashes. How well this idea catches on is a bit questionable, given the powerful “romance” of driving one’s car, but it’s certainly an indicator of things to come in the daily intersection of human and artificial intelligence and mobility. There have always been those who have dreamed of stepping into a mechanical exo-skeletal-type “suit” and letting the engineering do the work, insta

It’s easy to think of art in terms of what is instantly pleasing to the eye, artworks which
evoke a feeling of joy and hopefulness and blissful peacefulness or ecstatic exultation.
This is the consideration of art as something that helps propel us forward through life – to out future great
deeds, our career victories, or dreams of coming big events. But there is a peak to every life. At some point all
people, and all places, and even all ideas have to begin the inevitable decline that is the other balancing half of a lifetime.

Supernatural beings come to serve several purposes:

A day out on the town.I went to lunch with Megan. It felt so much like a date and I had to tell her, 'You know... I'm just your friend right?' She just nodded and smiled. I don't think she does. We talked about things that I missed in school. There was a pep rally I missed. YES! And I missed another dance. 'Did you bring a date?' I asked. She shook her head. Ok... this was wrong. 'You should have.' I mumbled. She shrugged, 'I just have not been looking. I was worried about you. You didn't tell anyone you were in the hospital.' 'I did not have a choice.' I said. 'And don't worry about me. I'm more at home in the hospital than at home.' 'Why?' She asked. 'No reason.' I shrugged. 'Anyway, you should get a boyfriend. You will be happier having lunch with a boyfriend than your weird friend.' She shrugged, 'I'm fine having lunch with you.' Gosh...A day out on the town. in Personal More Like This

Here's what happened for the first part of today.
I went to my locker and there was paper covering it. I groaned. I hated Echo. When someone has a birthday, their friends wrap their locker with paper. But… when I looked at it… it was different. At the top, it said 'I'm sorry' and Echo signed under it. Under her signature… there had to be a hundred. A hundred 'I'm sorry's and signatures. Some wrote things. One wrote… how I saved him from suicide because I stopped a bully from attacking him. Remember that picture 'Bullying', remember how I said it was a real event I saw, this was that boy. One girl called me strong. She was a cutter and she could never show anyone what she does to herself like I did. In a different pen, she continued, I'm assuming a different day. She said I gave her the strength to tell the counselor. I saw Echo lean against the locker ne
Christmas.I was sleeping and my father came into my room and tapped me on the head. I opened my eyes and my father took the box off my head. He had a present for me. Wow. When Gabe was alive, I got presents because my father knew he would think it was weird for him to get presents and not me. I got presents the last three christmas's that he was alive. My phone, my computer, and my tablet. Anyway, I ripped open the paper and looked in the box (a lap top sized box, not very big). It was empty. I looked up at him. 'It's a box of love.' He said with a total straight face. 'Small box.' I mumbled. He rolled his eyes and took a book around from behind his back. I finally sat up and took the book. It's a journal. I looked back at him, 'It this real leather?' 'Yes.' He said. I got nauseous. He scoffed, 'I'm not that stupid. I thought of that. It's pleather.' Oh,Christmas. in Personal More Like This

1- Recovery. When I see or hear about people recovering from depression, eating disorders, abuse, addiction, self harm, anything... it makes my heart just throb. I think of nothing but trying to keep myself from crying tears of joy. Even if they are trying for the millionth time to recover, I still wish them nothing but the best and wish they never stop recovering. That time might be the time that you can say in two years "I have been cut, drug, puke, hit, ect. free for two years."
2- The butterfly project. Nothing makes me happier then to see others reach out and want desperately for others to stop harming. I frequently draw butterflies over my cut even before I knew specific people that cut, just for everyone else in the world that goes through that pain.
This Week In Review (02/06/2012) STOCK Act Banning Congressional Insider Trading Passes Senate. Last week during his State of the Union address, President Obama promised he would immediately sign any bill banning congressional insider training. He's one step closer to fulfilling that promise: the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (STOCK Act) was passed in the Senate with a vote of 96 to 3. Only time will tell whether or not it will pass in the House before ultimately being sign by Obama. It would be good if it was passed and signed into law. But think about it: we're asking Congress to pass a bill regulating itself. You have a better chance of the fox guarding the hen house. This Week In Review (02/06/2012) in Personal More Like This

So should it be any surprise that Krugman was blatantly wrong about the internet?* The growth of the Internet will slow drastically, as the flaw in "Metcalfe's law"–which states that the number of potential connections in a network is proportional to the square of the number of participants–becomes apparent: most people have nothing to say to each other! By 2005 or so, it will become clear that the Internet's impact on the economy has been no greater than the fax machine's.

Tips For Commission ArtistsHello! So here are some tips to help boosting your sales.Tips For Commission Artists in Deviant Events More Like This
Have your commission info somewhere visible
Possibly, people won't even know you are taking commissions or if they are open if you don't put your commission info somewhere they can see. You can do this in a journal, that I mostly recommend, since it will be showing into your watcher's inboxes and most of your watchers probably rarely visit your profile page. You could still also use the commission widget, or donation poll to write your info. You can also link to your commission info in your signature or the artist's comment of new drawings you upload.

Why a medium like DeviantArt works for me? Probably because I've been around on the internet for so long, and I've spend so much time working for internet-marketing company's, that things like advertising and web usability have become a second nature to me. A lot of the things that I've come to regard as common sense in internet communication, are things that are nowadays proven successful by research.
